Asking for a pirated game here in anyways is a very bad idea.

Pirates cannot be stopped, this is a fact of life, just like the war on drugs or terror will never be won. This is not at all surprising.

Guessing by the MK tweet earlier, It seemed they hinted at this being an April Fool's joke which kind of makes sense considering the video was uploaded yesterday..

It would be too much of a coincidence if it was a leak on April Fools.

likely answer: because they want to wipe major WB/NRS ass by saying stuff like "I don't pirate games because I'm nice and a great person but I say words like "retard" and "make fun of gay/disabled people"' and YES I realize that quote was not verbatim. I mean. call me a troll, call me bitter, call me something else offensive, or ban me if you must but goodness...obviously were all mk fans and purchase the games endlessly and you would easily get banned from playing the game this early online anyway...this is clearly a promotional tactic of some sort whether to stop people from leaking games or for redemption for posting spoilers or linking to spoilers. I just...ugh...I just I try to be the bigger person and give the site a chance because I thought I met great people here but it's just gotten out of hand and segregated and it so upsetting that people can't stand up for themselves without arguing or give generic responses or say nothing at all, and sadly the mods even do this too! bottom line...this is just promoting piracy to people who view this site.

This thread isn't violating any rules. The site is doing what it ought to be doing: abiding by the guidelines it itself set out. Good kings don't break their own laws.

Plus, this thread isn't promoting piracy. Everyone knows the copy leaked; closing this thread isn't going to change that.
EDIT: quick disclaimer. I realize that all the site's guidelines are at the discretion of the MKO's staff. What I meant to say is that they don't violate their own guidelines for purely sentimental purposes. There has to be a real utilitarian purpose beyond contradicting site rules, and realistically, there's sometimes is. This ain't one of those cases.

Why would anyone want to torrent this? You're clearly not a fan, because you're costing NRS money by downloading it, and therefore taking away from funding for another MK game. Plus, just wait another 17 days, and enjoy it with the rest of the masses. What's the point of downloading it early? Just to leak it to others? Or are you just an impatient 11 year old?

well...I don't quite know what you mean by that. I mean...I know what ironic means and I know what I said and I know what my username is, but I don't get how it is ironic but really doesn't matter in truth.

anyway...the game is not released as a torrent and the mods say they have the links but against it? I mean why say that? plus I've been told to read the rules for posting on forums etc for posting links to stuff in general forums in the recent past then it get locked etc then mods get away with posting links to stuff that is exactly the same sorta thing these days. anyhow...I've moved passed all that and have no hard feelings. I'm just upset by how people use certain terminology, and say certain things, I just thought I will try to avoid those sorta threads but I had no idea this thread or others were about what they were about. so with that said...it's my own responsibility I guess.

First of all, we do not promote piracy of any kind, so don't you make such an accusation like that. As one of the largest MK fan sites on the 'net, and one of the few that has some ties with the NRS team, the last thing we would want is to jeopardize those relations. So, no, none of the staff is promoting/encouraging pirating.
Considering how big an issue this is, people WANT to discuss it, so we do. They have the right to do so, as long as it doesn't lead to flaming, or posting links to torrents or to people who know how to get the game early through illegal means (notice how I removed all the links packetman had made to the video).
Also, just because Casselman found the link doesn't mean he's used it, nor does it mean he's sending it to anyone or posting it, or promoting piracy. All he did was confirm that there is a legitimate leak of the game out there.
