So long as Smoke isn't misty man again. I'd rather have a human Smoke than that abomination.
i miss that lol but smoke is in???

Though some of my hate for Human Smoke could be just spite for his fanbase because I love the cyborg version and Sub and his storyline from MK3 so much that I literally get angry at anyone who wants him to go backward and be a regular boring dude again or not get automated at all.
Not that I'd want to see the "misty man" version in this game, since there was a storyline reason for that design and it doesn't fit pre-Deception.
"I know this is not a very popular idea. You don't hear it too often any more ... but it's the truth. I have taken drugs before and ... I had a real good time. Sorry. Didn't murder anybody, didn't rape anybody, didn't rob anybody, didn't beat anybody, didn't lose – hmm – one fucking job, laughed my ass off, and went about my day. Sorry. Now, where's my commercial?" - Bill Hicks...another dead hero.
I'd have say it would be underwhelming if so.

Always been a fan of Cyrax; the shot with the net got me stoked! It looks bad-ass, I'm dying to see it in action. I'm happy enough with his look. I have to agree with those saying they wish he looked bulkier in comparison to Sektor. Right now Sektor looks more menacing than he does, IMO, and I would've liked it to be the other way around to some extent. Nevertheless, no major complaints, I like what I see overall.
I'm not hating on Kitana's hair. I think it's different, and given how little can be done creatively with Kitana's look, that's a plus in my book. I'm just glad to see something relatively new being done with her. As for the outfit, I don't think it's terrible, but definitely nothing to drop your jaw over. It gets the job done. As strange as it sounds, my favorite parts are the earrings and the headband. Tiny details, but again, something new to look at. Overall, her look is extremely "expected", but I'll take it.
The arenas are Bad! Ass! The amount of detail on the Bell Tower especially is inspiring (sunlight from the outside reflecting on the clock). I can almost hear the sounds of the bells just looking at the screenshot. The desert looks fun as hell. I'm 100% with whomever hopes the characters will displace the sand through movement. Small additions such as this would work in unison to bring the game to life.
I'm eager for videos, and for the news on deck at PAX!

If Cyber I'd like to see a very revamped version of this. Also don't forget about alternate costumes.

If the shoulders were angled down and the helmet slightly redesigned, you'd be left with a cyborg that's streamlined like Cyrax, but not as sleek, yet angled like Sektor, but not as fierce. Think Lamborghini Reventon. This could look almost minimalist in practice, just what I'd expect from the stealthy Smoke.

I have to disagree about human Smoke being boring. I see unlimited potential in a ninja character who's method of fighting revolves around the manipulation of smoke. I can see him with a very stealthy human ninja design, that would compliment such a move set.
Yes yes, cool moves blah blah blah. What's using clouds to hide and fight add up to realistically? A Teleport? Stealing Reptile's invisibility? The moves he already had (as a robot BTW) in Armageddon?
I'm still not hearing anything that's better than "I failed my best friend and they mutilated him and he lost his soul and now he's a prisoner in his own body and being forced to hunt me down."
When he's not a robot, Smoke is JUST SOME GUY. There's no good reason to pay any fucking attention to him, he's a fucking nobody. After automation, Smoke became the fucking money shot of MK3. The single most interesting thing in that game is his and Sub-Zero's bios.

Yeah, these behind closed doors trade shows are pretty lame. PAX is in about two weeks though and the game'll be playable to the open public for the first time there, so I'd expect that to be when we get the best news.
We'll get some kind of official video man don't worry. It'll probably come in the form of an interview or something which would be what I'm hoping for, they're not going half way across the world to reveal a couple of characters and arenas in the form of a few pictures, no way.

I was mostly referring to how horrid he looked in MK:D as the mist man, not necessarily the fact he was still technically a cyborg.

Human Smoke has not even been given a chance to develop story. Making a comparison is unfair. So spare me.
Give me an example. Prove there's any way to make Human Smoke interesting without automating him.

I know what you meant, but I actually liked that look a little bit.

EDIT: God, there's an unlimited amount of directions that Smoke could go in. We don't even know if Noob-Saibot is going to be around this time.
Let's just say maybe the Younger Sub-Zero is captured, instead of him in this scenario. We could see Smoke fighting a completely desperate battle to liberate the Lin-Kuei and the younger Sub.
I'm just spit-balling. With more thought, I'm sure Smoke could be given a shit ton of purpose.

lol. Human Smoke could be easily be given a story that surpasses that of 70% of the cast.
Without an actual example, you're just bullshitting.
C'mon, get creative, use your imagination. Say something, anything, that you think would make me give a shit about Human Smoke as a person. Let's prove for real whether or not it can actually be done instead of speaking in vague rhetoricals.

As far as moves go, there's no special move from Smoke's MKD set that couldn't work for Human Smoke. You wouldn't even have to make them fight differently. The differences would be purely aesthetic.
And if we only get Human Smoke, I'll be okay. As good as the cyborg story was, it never got closure even after four games. Once Noob showed up, Smoke became a foot note. If Sub-Zero had any remorse for Smoke's situation beyond MK3, then the developers did a crap job of communicating that.
Anyway:
Kitana looks kickass. Loving the hair, the patterns on her boots and armguards. Best she's looked since the old days. Cyrax was far from what I was expecting, but still pretty good. The smoothness of the head throws me off, and I'm not a fan of the predominant yellow all over his legs (makes me think of track pants), but it's forgivable. Thank god that net's back.
I can't say much about the desert yet, but...I think I REALLY want a video of the belltower stage.

I posted that message the same time you posted yours. Give me a break.

He was as corrupt as the Lin Kuei was...
I dunno.

What people seem to be overlooking is, why isn't older Sub-Zero automated either?

I dunno.
Well in the original timeline, he was dead by then. We'll have to wait and see with this new "Raiden messes everything up" version.

Well in the original timeline, he was dead at the time.
He ain't dead now...
Unless he dies in the storyline. But still, if he is still alive he isn't with the Lin Kuei anymore.
