1) You don't know who she is. So any criticism against her identity makes you look like an idiot. Because you literally have no idea what you're talking about.

I just naturally assumed this chick is an NPC. I'm not sure where all the ideas of her being playable are coming from? Perhaps because of the leg pic? Which could and is most likely just concept art. I look at her inclusion as the same as Hornbuckle or any other characters that are just in the background. Maybe it is this supposed Skarlett? Still, she seems NPC to me.

Also I don't find her outfit to be appealing what so ever. I am agreeing with the consensus that I am getting tired of these bikini clad warrior women. I mean more power to them for being sexy but it is rather unconventional to fight in.

Lastly, she doesn't look "fat". There seems to be a wall behind her that is almost flesh color and that is "extending" her hips making her appear bigger.

I think that you, thesoulofermac and others could very well be right in that she certainly could be an NPC, but one thing prevents me from agreeing with you outright at this point in time:

Ed posted "the leg" pic a while back. The MK Facebook page makes reference to "the leg" when they posted this video on Facebook, essentially confirming that the character in this video is the owner of the infamous leg from Boon's pic.

Why would they do all of that for an NPC? A hidden character? Certainly. A new character? Certainly possible. But an NPC?

The answer?

They wouldn't. This is either Kira, Sareena, Skarlett, Ruby or a new character IMO.

They did state a few times that they wanted to create rumors and shit like the old games. We've been teased with NPC like Rain in UMK3 Arcade intro before he became playable...This could be a similar situation.

Curse that blasted leg picture. Of all the things that has been released to the public, that picture pisses me off more than the clothing of the women in this game.

I never really saw that picture more than anything other than something to get more votes for Kahn during that voting thing. I mean, after that competition was over, I saw nothing with that leg until a few days ago, when someone brought that leg back up into discussion.

Now, we get this, someone who made an observation over something that I didn't even pay attention to when I saw the video, and the character is either a "NPC", "Skarlet/Ruby/Kira" or some ugly "fat" chick in an awkward pose that makes her look fat.

I just can't pinpoint that leg with anything right now. I mean yeah, there's a heck of a lot of coincidences with that leg and this red dressed character:

A.) The leg picture with Kahn asking for votes
B.) This red character with a similar design is chained in Kahn's Arena...

but I really just don't think there's anything important about it.

Until we get further information about that character, I'm really just going to believe that the character is nothing but for show.

Again, the timeline here means Kira would be approximately 10 years younger than she is in MKD. which she already looks mid-twenties??

so unless shes 16 years old, we should slow down on this Kira theory.

You make great points on the emphesis of her presence and their mentality towards the situation. For all we know, Kira's constant inclusion and being a "red female" only forshadows even more that they plan on having this character here when the game ships.

EDIT: she was infact give or take, around 35 at the time as she was 26 in MK1. So Kira has to be relatively young.

I'm sorry but playable or not this whole scanty clad overly sexulized thing is getting pathetic and quite frankly its a little insulting
it wouldnt even be that bad if there was a shred of design in this character but there isnt, just look at the love and detail thats been placed on Scorpion and Subzero. Its fine to have one or two clothing impared females but it would be nice to have a little variation.
Over reaction prehaps, we have no idea how important this female is but my point remains, if the males are allowed to have a varity of looks why cant the females?

Personally, if you ask me, if that really is Skarlet, then that outfit is just a test outfit; something for her to wear just so when they added her into Mileena's combo video, people would catch sight of her.

I think that in the end, her outfit will really be developed.

Yes i would have liked this scarlet girl to be more of a traditional ninja but did i expect it.. heck no.

Half of me thinks that they gave the footage out and they didn't notice/forgot she was in the background. Her model looks so underdone it's kind of shocking.

I don't mind Skarlett (if it is her) being in the game, but she looks so basic it's almost a waste of a character space. Hopefully I'm right and they're going to finalize her look before the game comes out.

It does look very primitive. Even Kira's MK:D model had more detail than that.

Or maybe they'll just get wise and put Sareena in there, but by now my hopes and dreams for her inclusion on floating by on mist and vapors.

I think it's going to be Kira. It just looks like her with a skimpier outfit. Red hair, red boots like the ones she wore in her MK:D alternate.

It could be Skarlett or a new character, but my bets are on Kira with a whole new, original moveset...

I think Sareena is out of the question.
