Enjoy paying for keys to unlock something already on disc. Thanks Capcom, you paved the way for this shit.
NAMCO did it first.

SERIOUSLy thinking of boycotting this, though Ill prbably give in anyways.. even though I already got the two out of three I wanted most...
...so the promise of having the first DLC content available by the end of the month is....garbage? Guess I'll just wait another week to get the stuff everyone else already has then hopefully we'll get Kenshi and Skarlet by the end of the Summer.

Jesus tapdancing christ! This is getting annoying. Of course those things were on the disc, they were preorder bonuses! Not to mention that "throwback" mission in the tower. Dude, you misunderstood his post. He KNOWS the content is already on the disc. He's saying they shouldn't charge for stuff on the disc. Charging people for stuff they already own is messed up. That's all he was getting at.
And he's right.

The price isn't the problem, it's the principal of the matter, it's like buying a new car, but oh wait the trunk is locked and you can't access the spare tire even though it's already in the trunk until you fork over additional money and then we'll give you the key lol.

I disagree. When you buy a car, you know whether or not you are going to be able to open that trunk. If you don't all ready know at the time of your purchase , then you are a bad consumer.
When you bought MK2011, you knew that you would not be getting the classic costumes unless you preordered.
By not preordering, you bought the game without extra features.
Now they are releasing these extra features. Extra. They aren't standard features that have been kept from you. They are extra.
Now sure NRS could have given away these extra features for free. But that is a flawed business model. If DLC didn't have a profitable future, it would not be implemented.

That's just false. They weren't implemented separately. They were designed and programmed at the same time and the same budget as everything else in the game. Those costumes are about as "extra" as the challenge tower or character endings.
What they're doing is selling you a lock box and then making you pay extra for the key.

And we'll probably end up getting Rain somewhere in the first quarter of 2012.

Yes. But they're saving them along with Sektor/Cyrax to squeeze folks dry even more. Smh. Then watch them come out in a year with "Mortal Kombat- Super awesome edition" with all the DLC costumes/characters included.

I preordered from Walmart and got classic Mileena(doesn't change the fact that she was already on the disc, just like classic Reptile, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Jade etc.). They're selling us content that we already have, that's simply locked, it's not extra stuff, extra stuff is Kenshi and Skarlett, which I will gladly buy Kenshi because of him not being on the disc already.
My car analogy makes sense when you buy a car, you expect to have access to everything that is in the car, including the trunk, not just portions of it and that's the same case with this game. All of these costumes and fatalities are already apart of the original product, they were developed the same time as the rest of the content in the game. Don't take my analogy literally, which brings me to what Temp said, he said it better than I could.

Yes..especially since they're both on the disc as well(see hidden Smoke and hidden Noob fights as examples). They should have been included with this lot, but I suspect they'll be included in DLC classic skin pack two.

Even if I disagree with the idea of paying for something that's already on the disc, it makes sense from a marketing point of view. I mean, it was obvious that NRS/WB were going to charge for the costumes, since if they were meant to be free, they wouldn't be unlockable in the first place. If they were going to give us the costumes for free, they would be on the krypt or something.
Why put additional costumes in the disc if then you're going to tell everyone how to unlock them for free? Doesn't make sense from a company's point of view.

At the end of the story in Mortal Kombat you see Shinnok so, I think Shinnok should be added to the DLC cause I think he's more favorable than Kenshi.#LinKueiSub-Zero#

I'm more pissed that "Classic" Smoke and Noob are MK1 garb not MK2.

So if the heavily and steeply priced "$5" DLC wasn't on the disc already everyone would be cool with it? LOL...amazing. You women need to get the sand out of your clits, this is hardly anything to be getting so worked up about. I'd hate to see how some of you rage IRL over things you feel are not fairly priced....oh that's right, you don't because you're giant pussies and bitching over $5 online reassures you that you have some sort of authority left. Not buying a optional product....you rebels sure know how to make a point!

I like additional costumes just as much as the next guy, but these costumes were already programmed on the disc, and I don't play as any of these characters much, only interesting one is Kitana, since I don't have her, and i actually use her. Have scorpion and jade already. Think I will pass until Skarlett/Kenshi. Thanks anyway NRS.

I really hope that it is not just a pack. I want to be able to buy them individually because I don't need or want them all. The price is not really too bad...I think the fatalities alone are worth the price given for the pack.
For me I only want Sub-Zero & Scorpion mainly for the fatalities. I got Reptile from Amazon. I might cave in for Kitana's too if I can get them separate. If it is only in a package deal I might just wait on it awhile.

I wouldn't mind paying for the costumes if it weren't for the fact that we were told we wouldn't be charged for something already on the disc. That said, I don't know why I believe a damn word NRS says anymore. (No dial-a-combos for MK2011, anyone?)
