PREPARE YOURSELF!
Johnny Cage is not a afraid to DIE!!!!
I'm loving this. Johnny Cage looks to easily be my favorite character in this game (and I never thought I'd say that). He's just got so much personality, charm, charisma, and slick moves (both in the ring and on the dating scene).
And, yes... I really want a full-fledged Ninja Mime movie now.

Told you they had nothing.

Or maybe actually going through the story is better than reading it on paper. There are several movies that I thought would be shit after reading scripts on paper, but were great films while watching.Godzilla Wrote:

THAT WAS SICK!!
Jax is kinda sexy tho...can't even lie o_o.
The detail and the acting and dialogue from what we've seen is SUPERB. They give the characters so much life. Thanks for the heads up on Jade and Baraka in the background too!

For example: The Dark Knight.

Ja, this is the first MK game in wich i really like Jonhy Cage, they made with him the same they made with Millena in MKD, make him AMAZING!. jajaja.
He is already my favourite from the demo, we'll see what happens when the game comes out.

Great video! One of my favorite MK2011 videos in general, and definitely my favorite Trailer.
This seals the deal for me: Johnny is officially my second main. With 38% combos and such a winning personality, there are no questions left.
Best part of this trailer was seeing those Story moments play out. Seeing it really is considerably different from reading it, especially (and obviously) when it comes to Johnny.
Luckily, "I'm taking you out... for dinner" is just one of the many gems that come out of his mouth throughout the story, most revolving around what seems to be more of an infatuation than a simple crush toward Sonya. He seems to really have a thing for her as opposed to just being "big man on campus" going for the hot blond.
I think I might prefer Jax's alternate to his primary. I like seeing him a little more "human", with simple mechanic enhancements as opposed to full-on metal arms. I'm actually digging the armored vest, too, despite some dislikes from the crowd here. And you gotta love the look on Raiden's face during that little scene lolwtf.
I hope we get more like this soon!

Awesome video. For once MK's humor was actually kinda funny. And that trailer actually made story mode look like it will be decent, although thats probably a long shot. I haven't read the spoilers but it didn't seem like the fan's reaction to them were very positive.

'Bout freakin' time they used Cage properly. (OK, so Shaolin Monks did a good job with him too...) This is why it was a mistake to leave him out of Vs. DC. This video rocks. Good job NRS.

Can't say as I've ever been in a situation where I read a story that was bad but when I actually went to see the film, the acting saved it. Probably because I judge plot and dialogue as two separate things. The characters can sound interesting or funny or believable...and still be doing really stupid things.
The opposite has happened several times for me, though. I'll read a script that sounds really cool or, if it's an adaptation, gets all the characters from the source material spot-on...and then the movie itself will let me down because the actors didn't fit the roles or it looked cheap and low budget...the upcoming Green Lantern movie looks like it's gonna be an example of that. So not feeling Ryan Reynolds as Hal. They should've got someone like Nathan Fillion.
Still, whatever the case ends up being, at least they got Johnny right on the mark.

That would be epic.
We should start a petition to see at least 1 of the many famous movies Mr. Cage has been on.
At least a couple of cinematic trailers would be awesome.

Absolutely.
Johnny will be one of the best surprises of this game. I can feel it.
An official twitter from MK said that he (and Stryker) were given the serious treatment and respect they both deserved, so, I can't wait.
(it was perfect in MKA, btw, for anyone out there who forgot)

You can still get your Nathan Fillion on in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights

There are no words how badly designed Johnny Cage really is. I mean can it get more cartoon then this? And he seems more like a Duke Nukem wannabe then the van damme bloodsport type of person he was from the beginning. LAME

Indeed, I'm quite looking forward to that DVD.
Y'know what, he should just be assigned the role of Hal for life, like how Kevin Conroy is Batman and Marvel's animation studio has decided that from now on, Steve Blum will always voice Wolverine. (Except Blum isn't as good as the guy from the 90's)

You do realize that they changed Cage from the Van Damme type before the game came out? The first game had him as a goofy actor with something to prove and with endings that were quite satirical of the real battles they endured. His entire persona was always a flashy, cocky, blow kisses to the crowd and sign autographs to your opponents type. This is the Cage he's always been, just with more spotlight and showtime.

Cal Dodd voiced Wolverine throughout the 90's. He even voiced Wolverine for Marvel vs Capcom 2. I'm still disappointed they didn't get him to return for MvC3. He was truly the best for Wolverine and remains THE voice I hear in my head whenever I see and read about the character, just like Mark Hamill's Joker and Kevin Conroy's Batman is the definitive voice for the characters.
Now that I see the "flesh pits" in action I'm not too thrilled with it. Honestly it is just too Sci-Fi for my liking, I just can't see Shang putting on a lab coat and doing surgeries on a medical table and all of that. He's a sorcerer not a mad scientist! Oh well. The rest of the levels look absolutely fantastic.

That was awesome.
The levels are lookin really good to.
The levels are lookin really good to.
I'm impressed.
This kind of stuff makes waiting for the game all the more unbearable.
The level of detail going into each character and arena is much more than I could have ever asked for. Look at the facial expressions, for instance. Simply well done. Really adds something to the characters.
NRS, you are meeting and even surpassing my own expectations for this game. Please, keep up the awesome work.

Excellent video. Now can you guys(NRS) give him his MK1 costume please? C:
Kitana looks like crap as usual, starting to think she's NRS most hated character.
