I am a fan of all the looks really...except the MKDC one. I loved the MKD mask though because it was so different from what we were accustomed to seeing. As for MK9, I think the mask looks fine, not the best, but I'm sure my opinion will change the second I start playing him. And I am all for the flaming skull alt, yes please.

I prefer his Deception and current 2011 look, I hope it stays this way, I hate the plain-look masks... bleh

The MK4 and MKD alt. design with the skull motiff should be shot in the head. There is no justification for that atrocity. Also same goes for the latex.

at least none o f these look as bad as the mask from the series conquest, along with the outfit and the jumping board they can't hide on the set.

haha yea from the side the mouth peice on that mask looks like the actor has a swollen tooth it sticks out like 4 metres from the head of the mask

I really don't see the appeal of the MK4 / MKD alt costume. It's by far one of the worst costumes in all of MK. It's way too tight spandex that has no place in this game or on this character.

The mask, while being based off a skull is a cool concept, was designed very poorly. I shudder, cringe, and get so angry when I see this costume as it is very poorly designed (mostly because it's origins are from MK4 that has the worst character designs from the whole series in my opinion).

Scorpion's Deadly Alliance costume was the best (hollywood) ninja one he has, while he alt was an awesome hellspawn demon concept with the flaming skull, chains and wraps.

His Deception costume was very fitting and a personal favourite of mine. He became the Champion of the Elder Gods and I think his costume upgrade shows it perfectly. I know it's not exactly fitting for a (hollywood) ninja, but it's still cool none-the-less.

As for these last 2 games. I'm just not feeling anything for them. I don't really care for them one way or another. Which is kinda bad to say that Scorpion is my favourite fictional character of all time - he needs a costume to justify that.

Personally, one thing I do want to see is that his mask is made of skeleton hands, interlaced at the fingers across his mouth, while the thumbs curl up over his brows. This, and a return of the chains/wraps, and for his skull to be on fire whenever he removes his mask. Get rid of the insect designs as I have yet to see a good scorpion design on a humanoid character.

I am utterly thrilled by the number of people praising the MKDA look.

I don't think it was perfect, but it finally captured a fictionalized reference of ninja culture that felt like it matched the concept behind the character. I liked the hard sculpted face mask, which felt much more crafted, practical, and authentic than the other looks. I do not understand the appeal of the modified paintball gear, or weird plastic toy accessories with weird details on them.

MKvsDC/MK2011 doesn't come close to MKDA in any respect, for me, but I couldn't argue against it. The new look does for the hellacious aspects of the character what the MKDA outfit did for the ninja. It's nice to have a visual sense of the powers he has, particularly if you accept the louder, more direct characterization of Scorpion. It's not my preference, but it's grounded in a logic that I can at least appreciate. It's otherworldy and far superior to the $5 props of the digitized era, or their garish CG descendents.

Definitely a fan of the MKDA looks. I'd love to see Scorpion as Hanzo for once though. That would be interesting.

His new mask looks sick and twisted!

His best costumes without a doubt, have to be both of his MKDA ones. Main was simplistic, yet practical, with pieces of armor, like you might expect a ninja to use. And that alt just looks badass with that flamming skull.

me personally i love his new mask and outfit, it looks really hellish, whenever i see him it makes me think that the devil made the outfit for him, it looks awesome with all of the different designs on it

His new one is my fave. Also liked the Deadly Alliance one. I despise the umk, mk4 spandex versions.

The new one fits him very well. He is a scorpion themed ninja. The spear is his stinger, hence the name.

Personally, I felt that if you wanted to emphasize the Hell/Ghost Rider aspect of Scorpion, the best costume he's ever had that did that was MKvsDCU. The mask and armor in that one looked a lot more like bone and heavy metal-esque.

The one in this game just looks like he's covered in plastic tumors. Like literally, everything he's wearing has weird, out of control growths on it. I don't get the appeal of it at all.
This one also goes a little too far with the "looks like a real scorpion" thing. Has anyone examined his shoulder pads? They're shaped like the WHOLE BODY of a Scorpion. They have little claws on the sides and everything! They look silly and cartoonish. Once again, MKvsDCU did it better.
All that said, I'm also inclined to agree with Mick and others that he actually looks best when he looks like a real Japanese ninja like in MKDA. I did really like his Champion of the Elder Gods armor in Deception too. And again I agree that the UMK3/MK4 ninja outfit is definitely one of the most awful and just plain baffling costume designs in the franchise.

Yeah I would have agree that his MKDA outfit really gave him an actual ninja look, but I thought his MKvsDC looked was ok but I did like the rib cage facemask. His new costume I think is pretty cool but there are some elements of it that seem over the top like his mask, but his shoulder pads and overall outfit seem fine to me.

I like the new mask. It's got elements of everything that make Scorpion a character. The rib cage, the scorpion styled front end, and the spine that goes over the center of his head. I think it's very well thought out and put together.

Yes, his new outfit probably come in at second best for me. I like better than the MKDC outfit probably because its more straight yellow instead of that kinda padded look he had in DC. I still think DC was a great costume though. Just this one has got the edge over it. I dont mind the little Scorpion features on the outfit, but as long as they stay subtle and not bold and standout.

I'll have to repeat what I said earlier though. His MKDA suit will always be the best for me. The cloth mask, the baggy kinda pants and the armour. He simply looks so badass.

What if as he took damage and his mask ripped away the skull underneath was like smoldering so flames licked out of the tears? If they really wanted to go overboard they could even make it so that if he took enough damage it would rip off all together and the flaming skull would be left. idk just a thought on some ways they might be able to incorporate the flaming skull look (one of my favorites) into his character overall and not just as a special costume.

As far as alt.s go, I would also be in favor of something reminiscent of his DA ninja look. I think this one covers the hell spawn aspect pretty well, and a more ninja heavy look would balance the two sides of his character well.

Also, has anyone else noticed or brought up that his costume in the "shadows" trailer is different than the one that has been seen in the game play footage and on the website? I just noticed this in the process of making this post. It's a lot like his MKvDC with a few differences. Do you think perhaps this is a quick shot of an alt. or just part of a work in progress that gave us what we have now?

Looking at what little we can see it looks like more cloth (almost like a tee shirt?) than leather like the one now, and the yellow cloth is pretty different (smaller, padded and overlapped). I've personally always preferred it overlapped than just flat. It also doesn't have the lightning bolt things, which I haven't been a huge fan of in his new look. Also, the mask looks a lot more like the one from DC than the current one, and still looks leather on top.

Over all I am a fan of his new mask and new look in general, but I am curious about that shadows trailer look which seems pretty cool. Though that might just be because he's on fucking fire.

I was thinking the other day that, if he had his Toasty as a normal move (instead of a fatality) then he should just leave his mask off for the rest of the fight, so you could basically change to the flaming skull whenever with either costume.
