You clearly don't understand what a guess is.
Until we have *proof* Shang has a Fatality like you describe, it's just a GUESS.
At least Hooky-Fooky can admit that.
Also note that I never speculated as to the likelihood of that guess being true- merely that I noted a lack of hard evidence in your claims.

Shang was alot better back in the old days. You had to be very good at the game to be good with him. Fatality wise...meh. I would rather they brought back his bed of spikes from mk3. It was simple yet good.
Maybe there's still hope after hearing about more than 2 fatalities for some characters.

That was your original statement. You are saying this fatality we just saw is the Soul Steal when it's not. The Soul Steal is in the wallpaper, this fatality is not the Soul Steal which means he still has the Soul Steal and we just haven't seen it in action. Me and Hooky both know what a guess is, but what you fail to realize is that there is NO guessing involved.

So lets recap:
1. Soul Steal is in wallpaper
2. This fatality is not the Soul Steal
3. We have yet to see Soul Steal in action but is confirmed(refer to #1)
4. Therefore you did not prove your statement right that Soul Steal causes dismemberment since we haven't seen it in action yet

Take a logic class and then get back to me when you grasp what a guess is and is not.
Your "recaps" are rife with speculations and guesses (#1 the chiefest among them).
Give me some PROOF, and you'll actually have a point.
PS- proof that doesn't exist *right now* is invalid. If the Soul Steal *is* in the game (and I hope it is), it still doesn't make what you're doing right now anything other than pure speculation.

drpvfx... Take a look at the wallpaper. Then look at the fatality in the vignette. They look NOTHING alike. They are obviously not the same fatality.

When "Finish Him!" pops up, do you think using Soul Steal will knock the opponent down and end it, or will it allow you to morph so you can perform their own fatality on them?

Alternatively, maybe if you win the match while already morphed, the morph timer will stop so you can perform their own fatality on them that way. Of course, if the timer stops then that sucks if you actually wanted to do one of Shang Tsung's fatalities and got stuck in their form. Especially since you may not know their fatality inputs.

Little late to the party, but damn I'm loving how Shang is turning out, and love the fact he can only morph into the opponent in front of him, and it makes perfect sense that he does to, and I'm not talking about hardware capability here either.

Loving his SECOND Fatality too, fucking wicked!

And does this look anything like the Fatality in *his* vignette?
They have definitely taken some creative liberties with these wallpapers,
and to state, unequivocally, that you know what they are supposed to be without any other evidence is reaching. I'm not saying this vignette Fatality *is* his only Soul-related fatality. You other folks, however, are lacking in proof at the moment, yet making bold statements like you have evidence none of us have.

Look at the OTHER wallpaper.

But we're talking about Shang's *first* wallpaper here... (he only has one so far, yes? it's analagous to the Raiden one I posted (silhouette))

The first thing I thought of when I saw his Fatality here, is his MK2 one, but the more I think about it, it's really more similar to Liu's from Deception.

To get off the annoying logic argument, yeah, it is like Liu's,
but I can't help but feel like it is some kind of nod at the MKII Fatality, as well.
They seem to be 100% against explosions this time, which is a shame.
I realize they had too many in UMK3, but none at all is a bit disappointing.
Here's hoping there are some surprises.
DERP... my mistake there, I totally spaced on his second wallpaper. That certainly *looks* like his Soul Steal has before, but again- we haven't seen any proof that such a Fatality is in the game. It probably is in there (and *definitely* should be), but that second wallpaper *could* be the visualization of Shang possessing the victim. We don't have a full picture of how that will look yet, either. Tomorrow will likely shed more light on the subject.
Can you tell I'm pessimistic about this game's Fatalities? (the only aspect of it I *am* pessimistic about, tbh, and that's a pretty small gripe).
EDIT: Just went back to the thread listing the Unlockable Fatalities from the leak. If nothing has changed, Shang's is called which could be an odd reference to this one, or another Fatality which isn't a Soul Steal, which would be CRAP!!!

Y'know Sub-Zero has his first fatality shown in his vignette but his second is shown in his fatality pictures..just throwin that out there


I'm very glad that they used his morph as an enhanced soul steal like I hoped they would since it looked like the morph wasn't going to make it in.

I love it! They really gave a classy and regal vignette for him! I hope they give us Sindel next. They should probably get started with the Queen of the story.

I'm beginning to wonder if some of the older, vignette-only Fatalities (namely Scorpion's and Mileena's) have been replaced, much like Mileena's old X-Ray was. Probably just wishful thinking, though

^ Exactly. No offense to you ZeeDoctor but that is like saying that I can walk up to you and only transform into you in an attempt to make you think that I am the real you. I see his ability like Mystique's where she transforms into other people to fool others. Not to copy people.

Shang Tsung still has the ability to morph into whoever he wants, as long he has a small shard of one's soul... He just doesn't translate that into his gameplay to its full potential.

His hear ripping fatality will work of the opponent has hair and tries to grab them so he can take his head off.
What about Baraka or Kratos??
