Well done, Flawless victory! This Shang Tsung is the perfect compromise to classic and more recent incarnations in terms of moves, he has all of his skull fire magic attacks and his morphing ability, which is impressive. The morphing should be one of his many tricks and skills and I'm glad they made him unique, while still bringing that ability back. His intro is one of the most well done of all the characters, can't wait for his combo video.

Awesome fatality is awesome! Who cares if it's recycled. At least it fits him perfectly.

I'm glad that he can morph again somewhat. He lost a piece of himself in other games when he couldn't. And I know a few people are disappointed that his morphs are limited to his opponents and soul steal moves, but I like it that way. When I fight Shang Tsung, I want to fight Shang Tsung, not the whole damn roster. That move would be super-spammed if he could morph into anyone. You would probably see people play exclusively as Tsung just so they could morph into 15 different fighters.

I have no problem. Storywise. That he may morph into anyone, and trick whatever sap he meets.

What I'm saying is, from a gameplay perspective, he loses his identity if he can just be anyone.

During MKDA and up to MKD Kang was inside Shang Tsung. No wonder he picked up a fatality from there. ... doubtfull that his body could possess others without having a soul inside it....


So yeah, perhaps Kang used a fatality Shang knew already.

It's not in the comic, but it was stated flat-out in the backstory text for MK Mythologies. So yeah, Shang Tsung being from Earth has been canon, not speculation, since at least 1997.
And the whole "turns into mist and gets inhaled" part of the Fatality is clearly one of his MK2 finishers. The Deception-Liu part does look more fun than a simple explosion, though.

Wait so Sheeva Sindel Mileena Baraka Kano are all round Old Tsung on his throne with Khan overlooking him. Ok got it evil people in one place. So Why is Raiden there?

Shang Tsung looks excellent in this game! He finally has a playable old man costume, his fireskulls are back, and he can morph again! His soul steal grab looks pretty cool, and I like his intro. I wanted him to be able to morph into more then just his opponent, but at least he can morph again. Tsung will probably be one of my favorite characters to play as in this game.

Well, well. He is old and astoundingly appealing with that goatee of his. Love the outfit as well - only confirms my opinion that it fits him well as it did in his throne room during the gdc footage. The dynamic movevent of still images is fantastic - way to tell a story. Touche!

I dig the look. He kind of looks like Shang from the first movie. I forgot the actors name. Anyway, the fatality was cool too, I'm glad they gave him the old school ability to jump inside his opponent. I'm very interested in seeing all the rest of the finishers on launch. Im excited!

I dig everything here. I dig the update on his MK2 fatality, I dig the voice, and I dig the bio that doesn't, strictly speaking, retcon anything out of existence. I especially dig that he at least has the capability to morph into his opponent, if hardware limitations are that much of a problem.

Anybody alse as excited to see his long-missing three-eruption move? I loved that move in MK3! I wonder what the enhanced version of that move will be?

The enhanced skull throw will probably be the 2 or 3 skull throw from MK3 as well.

And I'm gussing the morph will be the enhanced soul steal move.

May I remind y'all mkvsdc took place between mk2 and 3 so wouldn't it make sense?

Kind of a bland Vignette in itself, but I still like what I see for Shang Tsung (though I'll admit his young version KINDA looks a little meh)

MKvsDC was Not Canon to the MK story so it would not make sense. Plus he looks stupid wearing two different outfits together, it's shao kahn not two face.
