Trackers are always cool, a fusion of other warriors blood, at least that's unique. Secretly watching Quan Chi. Nice.

Not a huge part in the story as expected but I like it.

If she makes it to the next few games she'd make a nice unwilling but natural enemy for Nitara. Hope that happens.

haha, nice ! Ermac is the fusion of souls Shao Kahn took from defeated warriors, so, Skarlet is the blood element fused together, and, another agent working for Shao Kahn. Both are "aces" of Shao Kahn , working for him and doing their job, their mission.

Skarlet seems perfect as the loyal assassin female, more loyal than Kitana and Jade, and the same level as Mileena.

Skarlet DOES NOT work for Quan Chi, for those who watched her leaked ladder ending, know what I'm talking about. In fact, Quan Chi is in terrible danger while Skarlet is sneaking around ..... Be careful, Quan Chi !

Now, people can stop to complain about Skarlet just because she shows "more skin" than the others ninjas, since it's explained that she absorbs blood through her skin, so, her costume fits perfectly on her. Or do you want her to use a traditional ninja costume, covering her from toe to hair ? lol !

I just wish that when they'd make a new character, they'd try to give 'em as much development in their first appearance as is necessary to be the equal of all the other 15 year old characters in the game have gotten after being around that long. That's why the characters in DA and Deception didn't grow on anyone. It wasn't that they were actually bad, it was that they looked bad in comparison to older characters who have just had more development by being around longer. It's not really a fair fight, y'know what I mean?
But seriously, considering she's already at a disadvantage by not appearing in story mode, does she have any speech clips at all? Like does she talk in her intro? I think she got a silent one like Kano or Baraka. Which sucks. How is she supposed to get popular without a personality?

why are most the secret or rumor characters working for a boss?

i.e.

- Reptile, who would not appear into the Arcade until later versions
- Ermac, rumored since MK1 thanks to EGM
- C/khameleon, secret fighter in MKT
- Rain - secret fighter in UMK3
- Skarlet, rumored since MK2, rumor source not completely known

Another one of Shao Kahn's minions, would have been nice to see something different since half the roster is his minions in this game.

Maybe her gameplay is top notch, but her design, story, and lack of voice don't help her situation at least for me.

So, despite her terrible costume and how much it sucks that her hair is just a copy/paste of Sonya's (colored red), I think I'm starting to find her more interesting.

Her second Fatality is fantastic and the first one is just super disgusting and disturbing.

I wish her story had nothing to do with Quan Chi, though (who I'm severely annoyed at despite all the love I've always had for him as a great character).

She looks fun. I might not get her for DLC (depends on the price) for I'm far more interested in that sexy Kenshi and the other potential 3 (Bring on Rain, Motaro, and Nitara!)

I know what you mean and I do agree that some characters have suffered from this (and I'm not just talking about the new comers, I'm talking about the ancient classics as well).

However, MKDA and MKD provided fresh new characters that were beautifully developed and that were heading into the right direction. The problem was that many from MKDA just didn't get another shot in MKD, and many from MKD didn't get another shot at all either.

Those 2 games remain the only games for most of the new characters who happen to be fantastic.

MKA doesn't count for those who just didn't even get a bio.

Shame that this seems to be the prevailing mentality around here. Skarlet will get popular the same way everyone else did pre-DA; by being an awesome and fun character to play with.

I really enjoy the pessimistic comments around here. I really do. People can see flaws with everything and likes to point them out again and again and again, always making sure everyone knows that there are people who loves to hate a character and making sure that those who like the character are feeling inferiour to themselves. I simply love it. People can be so judgemental and cruel to others, and that is what defines a true Mortal Kombat fan...

Now, on topic. Skarlet seems to be yet another minion character of Shao Kahn. Well, thinking that he is the grand ruler and conquerer of many realms, having been responsible for the near extermination of entire races, it is only reasonable that he would have a league of top-class warriors. I do think her story is rather unoriginal though, but hopefully she will evolve in the next generation of games to come.

As a character, I really like Skarlet. The whole blood-theme is something I really like about her, the power to absorb the blood of her opponents to grow stronger sounds really awesome, and her abilities and moves that we have seen so far really compliments that. Appearance wise, I like that she is more kunoichi inspired than any other character, being close to looking more like a real ninja instead of some otherworldly assassin like the others. I have missed that in other characters who claim to be "real ninjas", but has yet to be shown as one.

To compare her to other characters - Nitara and Sareena specifically - I personally don't feel like there's any comparison other than Nitara also having some blood-themed moves and Sareena also being able to throw knives... but that's about it. As mentioned in many other threads, MANY characters share powers without copying from one another. Liu Kang, Shang Tsung and Scorpion all use fire-themed moves, but they are still unique from one another.

I feel the same with Skarlet, Nitara and Sareena. They are still very unique from one another. If people cannot see that, then I must believe they are blind. If not literally, then because they simply choose not to see it due to, well, their irrational hatred for Skarlet, or simply because they want to see Nitara or Sareena become DLC characters and are afraid that their chances have been reduced, because of Skarlet's appearance. That's like saying it's Quan Chi's fault that Rain isn't in the main roster. Also, it has been confirmed that Kenshi will become DLC... and he shares powers with Ermac, both being telekinetic.

I welcome Skarlet as part of the Mortal Kombat family. Hopefully we will be able to download her soon and play as her. ^^

The problem I have with Skarlet is the same problem I have with Sheeva, Baraka, and Reptile and I love those characters, I just want them to be something more than mere minions, especially when Sheeva and Baraka have shown themselves to be moderately intelligent beings(mainly Sheeva) with codes of honor etc, but this thread isn't about them so I shall cease discussing them.

I won't repeat any other complaints as the points have already been stated and I don't wish to beat a dead horse.




As I said, maybe Skarlet has top notch gameplay, I'm open to any and all new characters, I supported Drahmin, Ashrah, Kenshi, and Tanya when they made their debut.

I'm not speaking for myself, I like almost all of the 3D era characters. I'm referring to the majority of posters on the board's ridiculous mentality of "if it came after MK3, it's crap".

Really?:) The thing I adore the most is the mask and bandanna rolled into one, which reaches down to her cleavage! It creates a somewhat covered-up impression, something that sets her apart from other slutty outfits almost baring the other females' breasts. Her alt costume has an Arabic feel to it, just like Mileena's Deception beta designs.

Yeah, Quan Chi is involved with literally everyone in every possible way now, I wish he was more of a discreet character. Kia, Jataaka, and Sareena were enough( although I do really like Sareena's story ties to Quan Chi).

Skarlet's "pez dispenser" fatality is a plus, rather creative.

I hope Rain and Motaro are among the four, Nitara would be a nice addition as well, more female characters and more creatures is pure win.

Kenshi is going to be sweet, really hoping to see him in action soon.

Every move she's ever had someone else better has. Her plot is the same as Kitana's. She relative to absolutely no one else. The only actual unique thing about her is that she's a vampire and that she has wings.

Both of her fatalities are pretty awesome. What are those "blood spikes" in the second one, giant arteries or just... blood spikes?

Looking forward to seeing her alt costume as well.

Now if only I could get the new Klassic Skin DLCs to appear in the 'Downloadable Content' section of my game...
