They could have put a little bit more creative thought into her character.

Okay, yeah, Whedon had other blondes like Darla and Harmony...but his vampires don't look like vampires, they're not pale, they don't dress like ancient Victorian English or bondage-y like Underworld/Vampire: The Masquerade characters, they can pass for normal living people. That's why they have that demon-face they switch to before they bite people, so the actors can spend the rest of the show without mumbling with a pair of fake fangs on. Spike came to mind as an exception because he actually does look more the stereotype, with that gaunt face of his and the leather trenchcoat.

And I haven't actually seen most of the other stuff listed, I try to stay away from things that get all Anne Rice-y with the vampire concept, it grosses me out when people think of walking corpses that drink blood as sex symbols. I googled some pictures of those characters though and it's only reaffirmed my opinion that blonde hair looks bad on pale people. Also, Tom Cruise looks particularly goofy in long hair and fangs. Did people really like that movie? I mean, I've heard it's popular...



Really? I, uh...okay, I'm going to be polite, look at only the hair and skin, and not make any judgments on the fact that you've posted an anime loli.

You're welcome to your opinion, but personally I think that looks terrible. Blonde on pale just does not work for me.

Blonde hair and tan skin looks terrible in my opinion. Looks so unnatural. Sonya has a healthy skin colour without being tan or too pale, so that looks alright with her blonde hair, but someone with a caramel tan and blonde hair looks simply awful. Then the hair should be white, like Storm from X-Men or Elena from Street Fighter.

I prefer pale skin with blonde hair and when combined with the right clothing, like with Rachel Alucard shown above, it can look really good. Gothic Lolita characters usually look awesome. ^^

I guess it's just a matter of opinion though.

I have seen that arguement alot "Skarlet looks too much like Kira", but the only two things they have in common is the red hair and the red theme in their outfits.Other than that, they look very much different from one another, even outfit-wise.

Initially when I seen Skarlet, I assumed it was Kira in a new outfit. These days, I'd never compare them. Both are extremely different, even Kira's hair colour is more of a wine colour than Skarlet's more crimson hue. That and the fact Skarlet has her own move set with no copied attacks, a prestigue which Kira has never had.

I think red hair fits Skarlet but Benzol's idea of a blonde Skarlet would've probably been better than Skarlet with generic black hair. Blonde hair fits well for a pale person because that can be only natural. Nine of out ten times blonde hair doesn't fit for a tanned person. Josh Koscheck, an ultimate fighter, is the only exception that comes to my mind right now.

Initially I imagined Skarlet a tad more sophisticated. Here's my sketch. But the lack of clothing makes only sense: Skarlet is half naked, Ermac is "mummified", Skarlet is a red rumor female from MKII created by Shao Kahn, Ermac is a red rumor male from MK1 created by Shao Kahn, Skarlet is about blood and Ermac is about souls. Skarlet was inspired by Ermac.

Get rid of her. We already have Kitana and Mileena and Jade.

She is now part of the game and that's that. What this thread is about is changes to her character, not wether or not she should exist. So please, if you have nothing useful to contribute to this thread, please just stay out of it.

Definitely get rid of the shoulder pads in her outfit. I hate them. They're so out of place. I would add a bit more clothing to her get-up as well.

Finally, I would give her a new move: The ability to suck in blood spilled on the battlefield, so that she can recover health. This would create a balance between using her blood projectile and recovering her health. Obviously this would require her tweaking the properties of her other abilities.

While I don't agree with the "needs more clothes" statement (Ironically she's one of the few MK girls I think has a legit reason to wear skimpy clothing... for absorbing the blood that spatters on her from battle. Less clothes works for her.) I do agree that the shoulder pads gotta go.

Also, I love your idea having her absorb some of the blood on the ground for a health boost. I think that would be awesome for her.

Special move that'd makes her suck it up. Basically you'd have to use it on knockdown to be effective. In a projectile heavy game like MK9, there wouldn't be very many opportunities to use it, so it wouldn't be too strong.

I still had a lot of work to do on it, but I got kinda lazy lol. Not all of her clothing is shaded and I still intended to add more (like her thigh-strap with her daggers). Her hands were gonna be covered in blood, kinda like Sub-Zero's ice-hands.

Only thing I don't like about Skarlet is the fact that she's just another one of Kahn's minions, as if we needed more of those.

True... but with Kahn's demise in the current game, it's possible that she could get a story line separate from him and be allowed to become something more than just another Kahn minion. I hope this is the case... because I do agree with you that there are far too many Kahn puppets as is.

Skarlet is pretty much the only one genuinely loyal to Kahn. I doubt she'd turn on him in death. With Shinnok/QC in power, and trying to claim Earth/Outworld, I'm sure she'd do something to stop them...

And with Mileena being Kahn's "daughter," I doubt she'd show any loyalty towards her at all.

Include her Alternate costume and give her bigger boobs!!!

I'd like to see her incorporate some suicide based moves. If Meat can take his head off and roll it, I can't see how Skarlet would be incapable of plunging a knife into her own heart or stomach to get some attacks in during battle.

An outfit like Unknown's from Tekken where she's coated in bloody liquid as a costume would be cool too!

I like all of these things. She can change her shape in blooooood, and throw her her extra boobs just like meat's head roll.

Girl needs some limb-blood-tentacle-shifting and I'm good... And a fully nude costume lacking genitalia and possibly breasts altogether (since she is just a creation, not a real human), covered in blood tentacles.... Maybe some veins and blood spatter for decoration....

You know what she needs? To go all Jessica Rabbit and cover one eye constantly with her hair. That'd be so vampy and hot! And Samurai armour, I've always believed since she's Kahn's most ruthless enforcer that her attire should reflect his trust in her, with some Samurai motif in there.

That's more Onaga's thing, with the samurai armour. Shao Kahn has always had "ninjas".

And Jade is already pulling off the hair-over-the-eye-style quite well. ^^
