No when ppl talk about Jade's ethnicity/race. I just find that pointless. The only way for Jade to become my fav female again is if there's something between her and Smoke, otherwise Lady in Red :)

I agree though, it is completely pointless. No one wonders what Kitana's or Sindel's ethnicity is... or other non-Earthrealm character's ethnicities either. So why Jade? She's Edenian, and that's that.

It's been hinted at in the Smoke thread, and also in an old Jade thread, I believe... I don't find it a good idea either, it's doesn't really make sense.

I agree. Jade and Smoke isn't a good match. I am generally against MK romances, but I don't mind subtle hints. That Smoke and Jade were both in the Living Forest stage in MK2 isn't really enough of a reason for them to get all lovey dovey...

I thought that MK3's reptile and UMK3's Jade were a good couple because of the colour :D. But then reptile turned into a muching crocodile hybrid thingy and just ruined the connection :(... Did he have to become an amphibian!

I'll summarise. Jade and Smoke first meet in The Living Forest, both are into each other but Smoke being Smoke, dissapears. Then Smoke has a choice of helping Sub-Zero with matters at hand or pursue Jade. He chooses Sub-Zero but Sub-Zero tells him to go after Jade because that's what he really wants. On his way to Jade, he is captured. Sub-Zero finds out and goes to Jade. She was hoping to see Smoke so asks about him. Sub-Zero takes Jade to a place, they both see Smoke, who's now cyborg! :(

Yeah, anyways...

Before I begin, I really must say that every thread that this character is featured in, she's got to have a debate about her race. People please, she's Edenian, that should explain enough. Even in the fan submission, there's a debate about her in a picture thread. That alone shows how out of control this debate can get. Honestly, those who get sucked into the debate itself is foolish because getting wild up on trying to figure out who she is when we know where she's from.

Her appearance right now for this game kinda disappointed me. Before getting a full body shot of her, I loved the torso part of her outfit. It reminded me of her UMK3 appearance with gold hinted in it. But as soon as there was the full body shot... I didn't like the end of it. The chains are a nice touch but, that's all I really liked on it. It's not that I find it too skanky or whatever, I just think it's too dull for a character that can look really freaking awesome.

They did that in Deception, not really too sure on why they dulled her up.

I'm LOVING the fact that her staff has the purple glowing effect on it. I prayed for it to return because it was an awesome effect for a weapon to have. The only thing I'm waiting for is the sound effect that plays when she throws her boomerang.

I wouldn't mind what they have in stored for this character's story. It would be cool if she still stayed with Kahn's side and betray Kitana. I wished that Tanya wasn't the only evil Edenian character, no I am not counting Mileena as she is a clone and part Tarkatan I don't find her to really be Edenian. I hate Rain so I don't count him either. Tanya is the only female that is evil that came from Edenia.

One last thing I wouldn't mind seeing, is the difficulty this character produced back in UMK3 returning. Hopefully computer opponents will be tougher to play against and I would certainly enjoy fighting this character like the way we fought her in UMK3... without cheating and spamming moves.

So that's basically what I have to say about this character.

lol with Raiden screwing things over. There's bound to be new ties/enemies. So until it's released I'm holding on to a Jade and Smoke get-together.

I can see Jade and Jax gettin' it in Either Jade and Jax or Jade and Kai.

She'd be attracted to Jax's determination to country and his friends. She'd be attracted to his loyalty and his......other assets. LOL She'd find a kindred spirit in him, and they'd have beautiful babies.

Kai came out of left field completely, but I can see Kai bringing her peace. He's a Shaolin monk, and I feel like she could use somebody who is stoic and strong but the quiet type. She doesn't strike me as someone who'd like the bad boys. That characterization of her in the Video Vixens failed. She was sexy though! haha

I thought about that too. I just don't like the fact of the token black girl ending up with the token black guy. I felt the same way with Storm from X-Men. That was WAY too forced, and she had better chemistry with other characters. I personally see Jade as being a strong, independent woman who really doesn't need a man at all to make her happy, especially at this point in her life. A woman who puts her career first *even if that career is being a top assassin*. She should save the love life until after Edenia is freed, imo...

LOL @ the 'Jax's other assets' thing. Those are both cute pairing ideas though, I admit. If anything, I can definitely see Jade and Jax getting along very well with each other. They're both fiercely loyal to their homelands, that's for sure.

I agree that rmance in MK is not appreciated by many fans,but if I had to choose I would love Jade to pair either with Smoke or Kung Lao.Or even with Sub-Zero (I certainly can see them having something in common,both are assassins and both have some good in them,and,to Jade's advantage,Sub-Zero is one of two mascots of MK)

They need to keep Jade and Kitana as friends as allies, they should not fuck up the Kitana/Jade friendship.

I too find it rather lame that the two dark skinned characters get together. It's so cliché. In all honesty, I can't find a suitable character that Jade might fall for. Maybe it's because I see her as not getting too personal with anyone than maybe Kitana.

And maybe treat Sindel?

That would be in the later games, after Kitana has released her from Kahn's sway and freed Edenia. I think at first the only reason Jade is loyal to Sindel is because Kitana is, and then later on they get to know eachother and grow stronger bond, especially in MKD where they are side by side, trying to find a way to rescue Kitana.
