Haha! Nice animation! I tried to make some in Animation Shop 3 and I didn't get it -_-... But, I think they should just give 1 trailer for each character, to fuel our urges XD

We ARE on topic. It's a topic about Jade, and we're talking about SURPRISE Jade. The OP says we can talk about anything regarding Jade (i.e. her relationship with others.) But anyway...I'm very excited to see some Jade gameplay, although I doubt we'll be seeing anything specifically on her. From the little bit we've seen, I think her gameplay is going to be very fast. In that one scene where she gets out her staff, you can tell the move is blindingly fast. I'm loving it. What do you guys think of her voice, though?
I imagined it being a little deeper and more resonant. Granted, we've not heard much of her speaking except for when she gets punched in the face or kicked in the gut. That's not much of a fair assessment but whatever lol. I like the guttural sound of Kitana's voice. It's very commanding. I wish Jade's was similar in its tone.

I wish Jade had a move like that... I know I should be asking you on your fan submission thread, but what program are you using to make these sprites come to life and is it a downloadable program or one that I need to buy?
I am going into animation for a career and I've always wanted to animate sprites for a while.
But if Jade could have some of the moves you've designed for her... she's be a killer.

I'd love to see a Kitana/Jade vid that displayed their gameplay and combos together, but I'm kinda also looking forward to a vignette soon. We'll see what gets released later today.

Taki is intelligent and smart, but not in a worldly matter. She is on the other hand extremely smart when it comes to ninja tactics, demon hunting and sword smithing. She's from the 17th century, so her base of knowledge doesn't have to be big. The knowledge she has is all she needs. ;)

Her voice shouldn't be like that, no, but I do think the video shows nicely how Jade is. She's to the point and in your face, not really caring much about how people around her think of her, but if they try and disagree with her, she'll smack them in the face to prove them wrong.
However, that's how I see her AFTER she's joined Kitana and helps her freeing Edenia. A more passionate and maybe emotionally confused woman who suddenly has to confront alot of feelings she's just put aside as Shao Kahn's assassin. As Kahn's assassin I see Jade to be somewhat cold and does her job with exact precision without questioning her master. And she made sure Kitana was focused on the job, helping her out and acting somewhat like an older sister to her.
I believe the arrogance is somewhat of a defense she puts up so people don't get too close, because she doesn't know how to deal with that. Does that make any sense?
Also, the reason I'd like to see Jade as playful in the arena is because I think she enjoys her job, like I mentioned, being a cat hunting a mouse. But again, not as psychotic as Mileena though. XD Kitana does somewhat the same, as she winks to the camera in her winning pose, to show she enjoyed herself. It's alot more subtle.

I think Jade's win pose is her forcing her staff into the ground and moving around it or something. I don't necessarily see your characterization of her, though. I see her being more of a hardass. Not akin to Sonya, but I see Jade being someone who's quiet but will make shit happen for you and get it done RIGHT. I don't see her as playful because I see her more as someone who is versatile enough to play the background killer, but she can take charge of a squad if need be. That doesn't really bring playful killer to mind. I see her not so much "enjoying" her work, but satisfaction for her comes from knowing that she's done a job right and that she's done it well. Self-fulfillment for her, in my opinion, would come from knowing that she's done her friend/leader/boss a satisfactory job.

I believe the arrogance is somewhat of a defense she puts up so people don't get too close, because she doesn't know how to deal with that. Does that make any sense?
Also, the reason I'd like to see Jade as playful in the arena is because I think she enjoys her job, like I mentioned, being a cat hunting a mouse. But again, not as psychotic as Mileena though. XD Kitana does somewhat the same, as she winks to the camera in her winning pose, to show she enjoyed herself. It's alot more subtle.
I think Jade's win pose is her forcing her staff into the ground and moving around it or something. I don't necessarily see your characterization of her, though. I see her being more of a hardass. Not akin to Sonya, but I see Jade being someone who's quiet but will make shit happen for you and get it done RIGHT. I don't see her as playful because I see her more as someone who is versatile enough to play the background killer, but she can take charge of a squad if need be. That doesn't really bring playful killer to mind. I see her not so much "enjoying" her work, but satisfaction for her comes from knowing that she's done a job right and that she's done it well. Self-fulfillment for her, in my opinion, would come from knowing that she's done her friend/leader/boss a satisfactory job.
