First, my condolences to the Austrailian MK fans. I hope they find another way to get the game then.
But yes, I think it sounds awesome. Kinda an updated versione of her UMK3 Staff Impale move (which was somewhat boring, in my opinion).
Plus the fact that the UMK3 fatality looked like crap with the opponent suddenly turned to a stiff wax statue in a seated position laying down on the staff. I'm pretty confident though that they'll do it right this time. I can't wait to see it though, and her x-ray. wdm6789 Wrote:

Yeah, as fun UMK3 was (my favourite of the 2D classic games), the fatality animations weren't that well done. Some of the fatalities were absolutely awesome though. Kitana's Kiss of Death bubblehead fatality is still one of my favourites. ^^
But I prefer Jade's MKD fatalities. Both of them were quite cool. My absolute favourite Jade fatality is her Head Kabob fatality. :P

I find it interesting but odd that she has a staff that extends at will and the fact that she's holding it in one hand at all times.
But I guess it's understandable, in UMK3 it just appears out of nowhere when she combos.
I can't wait to see her win pose, she supposingly dances like a stripper with her staff. :P
Her fatality is like the one from UMK3 but she takes the head off and places it ontop of the staff. Eh, I think it's a bit much, but maybe seeing it in action will change my mind.

Indeed, I find it odd why NRS decided to go this way with Jade's weapon style, but I hope it will work well in her gameplay, however, I'd like to know WHY they decided to do that.
Could anyone who knows how to use Twitter ask Boon or something?

Well, so does Kitana's fans and Mileena's sais in this MK, so why can't Jade's staff be conjured magically as well? That's what I'd like to know.

Yeah, it's actually quite long, down to her lower back or so. I think it looks great. ^^

Well, it looks better than Kitana's, that's for sure, but it's still kinda all stuck together. Doesn't look pretty at all IMO. I'd rather it were short like Mileena's than look like it does. (Erik) Wrote:

It'll be sad after all the great stuff they've put in this game if they ship it with such a glaring and obvious flaw in the graphics/animation.

NRS indeed need to practise their hair animation skills. It's about the only real flaw I can point out about this game's graphics. Everything else looks fantastic in my opinion.

A couple of long pigtails would look so cool on Jade. :P

Maybe they should ask a Japanese graphics designer to join them :D

Then the game would be perfect. I can't find a thing to say against SCIV Sophitia's hair (which is fairly long), and Namco even managed to make the ridiculous thing on Amy's head look good. Why can't NRS get it right?

Okay, it is braided, but still it looks soft & pliable, not the greasy stuck together thing that MK hair is.

Hair is but the one thing on the human body that is hard to animate and make it look realistic... Namco has had ALOT of practise with it and successfully made it look good. The Japanese really care for video games to look beautiful and stunning, but they aren't that good at storytelling, with a few exceptions, of course.
I say this because of my experience with MMO's. Most Asian MMO's lack seriously in storyline and character depth, however, they are amazingly beautiful, while American MMO's aren't all that pretty, but the storylines are absolutely amazing.
It's kinda the same with, say, Tekken and Mortal Kombat. Tekken is pretty but story-wise it's rather dull. Mortal Kombat on the other hand has an amazing storyline, but the graphics aren't as good.
Considering MK's history, the MK team has come a LONG way and improved amazingly well... but they still need to perfect the finer details, such as hair.
As this is a Jade thread, I must say, I think Jade's hair looks great. The flow of it could be worked on, just like with Kitana's and Sindel's hair, but that is but the only real problem with the graphics there is in this game.

Simply put, because NetherRealm Studios is not made of Japanese.

Bezzy was so kind to post this in a thread:

Sadly, no Kitana...

guess this was already brought up, Jade's hair is pretty much the same length as Kitana's hair. Both to lower back, upper ass. I love it. I would like to see Jade's hair with more style to it like Kitana's bump/poof, which imo, looks awesome.

More style like Kitana's? Hers is AWFULLY styled -_- The big Snooki-esque thing? Yuck.
Jade's is beautiful, both rendered, and in style. It's simple, it's elegant. It b elies her badassness and sexiness. Is feminine, yet practical. Looks exactly what Jade, as the more secretive of the female ninjas, needs.

I agree with samuhai, Jade's hair as it is now looks absolutely beautiful. The long, smooth and slick hairstyle really fits her. It's simple and elegant. Kitana's hairstyle is cool too, but I don't want Jade to have hair like that. Her MKD main outfit already had something like it, but I don't want the two to look more alike than they already do. Mileena is the one who is supposed to look like Kitana, not Jade.

This is definitely the best, or I should say my most favorite thread of the site, since Jade is my favorite fighter.
I think her costume is great. I don't find anything wrong with it at all. I really like the gold chains that were added on. It makes her look fierce.
I haven't seen much of her fighting stance. I've only seen a little photo. From what I've seen. It looks like she has more of a powerful fighting stance. It isn't as laid back as it used to be like in UMK3. Overall, her fighting stance is okay.
Her storyline? All I want to see and what would make me happy is if they went into depth with more of the previous story. Not much attention was given to her in the previous games and I didn't like that.
Her gameplay: I want to see PLENTY of combos. I want to see more moves with the staff. I want to see what Jade's meant to be. I want her to be way more of a quick fighter than a powerful.
X-ray moves? I want to see some good staff xray moves, which I'm most likely going to see anyway, but just saying. I'm very vague I know, but I have high hopes for Jade.
As of now, that's all I have to say. I cannot wait.
