I just checked out the minigame Test Your Balance, and the way the character falls into the death pit is very similar to how a character would fall in the Continue scene in MK4.

Could that be a foreshadowing of some sort?

I just want to say I still see one fallacy here. I still see people saying that so and so is dead it's time for the new characters to shine.

That is false. I'm sorry, but every game people step in and say it's such and such's time to shine. Mk9 was the perfect example. People said it was Reptile, Baraka, Sheeva, etc... time to get the spotlight. Yet, it didn't happen. Some got great looking updates (I'm looking at you Stryker). However, he still wasn't really relevant (sorry Stryker fans).

My point is everyone saying dead characters should stay dead need to know they are asking for a crappy story.

People need to look at characters who aren't important and ask for them to take a seat. That means some characters still alive. Reptile, Sheeva, Baraka, and Kano really have no place in MK10 IMO.

Then look at Shang Tsung, he got crapped on really bad (because of Quan Chi). He needs a break as well.

Some of the heroes who dies can stay dead as well. Stryker, Kabal, and yes Jax can all stay dead. At least for a while.

I like some of the 3D characters as well, but I'm not going to sit and act like they're all going to be OMG AMAZING! Especially not enough to replace some of the dead.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. MKX will no doubt be amazing and characters like Fujin, Tanya, and Havik will be amazing.

However, Stop saying Frost can replace Sub-Zero. Just stop trying to make that happen, it's not going to.happen.

No one thought Stryker would ever turn out any good.

Turning out good is not the same thing as competing with Sub-Zero's popularity.

Ed Boon confirmed back in 2011 anyway that death didn't mean a character wouldn't be returning in the next game. I would expect at least 3 or 4 of the deceased characters to come back in some shape or form.

A bigger fallacy IMO is that a character will return JUST because they're still alive. I seriously doubt Sheeva is coming back.

Do they know how popular he is? Scorp and Sub are staples in the series.

Them not returning is equivalent to Ryu and Ken not appearing in a SF game.

Really? Good luck getting through the next year. If you followed MK9's release, then you'd know how painful it is. First comes the release trailer, then you're thirsty for more, E3 rolls around, you get a bit more to feed your obsession. Weeks go by with nothing, maybe a tweet from Ed Boon or someone else from NRS. Then the teasers start rolling in (makes me curious what they'll do this time, the shadow fatalities we're creative.)..

I'll be on MKO every waking our until release..

We'll probably have to wait till Spring of 2015.. may the Elder Gods guide us..

I'm one of those people, that said, everytime i say something like that, i'm excluding Sub-Zero, as he's a staple. The only REAL staples of the series are Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden. Other characters like Johnny Cage, Kitana, Sonya Blade, Liu Kang are regulars, but miss out a few titles every once in a while.

So, when i say i think the dead characters should stay dead, at least for a game, doesn't mean i think they won't be playable, i WANT them to.

This is Mortal Kombat. The dead never stay dead. Even Shao Kahn still has a chance of returning.
