I don't really think that anyone was under the illusion that characters like Reptile, Baraka, Sheeva, etc would get the spotlight in MK9. I'm sure that some hoped. That's about it.

But why would anyone think that? Even before we knew about the altered timeline, we still knew that Raiden, Scorpion, Liu Kang etc were all in, so why would someone think "alright, this game'd gonna be all about Sheeva!" I don't think that any MK fan would be that naive.

That aside, I don't see how removing the dead characters automatically equates to the story being crappy. There are plenty of great characters that aren't dead to provide for an awesome story.

Plus, ya never know, the next hero could be completely new. We don't know yet. So I wouldn't go assuming anything yet just because a few sacred cows got slaughtered. Hell, we don't even know if anyone will actually stay dead.

Well at least not everyone feels the same way. Hopefully everything will be back to normal on Monday!

I can understand. It stirs inside, hearing all these rumours and taunts by NRS... but as soon something is officially confirmed, the heart can be still once more.

Alright guys, what stages do you want to see come back in the new game? I need to replay my MK games, so my memory on them is a little on the rusty side. I definitely want to see the Fire Well come back again. Not the version that was in Armageddon, but hopefully something that's either from MK4/Gold:

I also would like to see an updated MK 4 Prison (or the Dark Prison from MK:D), the Pit in some form, the Netherrealm, and maybe the Wastelands or Quan Chi's fortress.

The Fire Well is a great idea. I would also love to see the Elder Gods arena because they can do soooo many great things with that stage. Even The Portal is an option just because it never made it into MK9.

I forgot about the Portal! To be honest, I'm surprised it didn't make the cut in the last game. Yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing that one come back as well.

That was a bad decision from the get go. It's like they didn't look at the complaints from Smoke fans at all. Or maybe they did and thought hmmm, yeah that will be better on one of the poster boys of the franchise.lol. I mean that whole situation is just laughable to me. I will never understand why they did that the way they did it. Cyber Sub-Zero actually may have been popular, but the way they created him killed any momentum he could have had. Nobody asked for that at all, and now.everybody is asking for him back as a human. All around just a bad decision.

I get what you're saying. Just because they aren't around doesn't automatically make the story suck.

However, the 3D characters are the least developed and since they jumped back in time it doesn't leave lots of room for new development. What I mean is these characters aren't or shouldn't drastically change storywise.

Talking about new characters. I'm sorry, but I have little hope there. We don't need a crapload of new characters anyway when some of the ones they have ignored need help as is. A couple would be fine, but not a new main protagonist (look at shujinko and taven).

What I am saying is leaving all of those characters out completely is setting up for bad things. Maybe I should reword it. Be careful what you ask for. Yeah that's better. Make sure you really want those characters to stay dead before you say it.

I'm a Sub-Zero fan. It's well known, and I'm dying to have his story continued (so he can recover from his last showing). I'm not willing to.wait another four years after this to see him again.

Know if you ask for a character to stay dead, it could be 4 more years of a wiait to see them. Just sayin...

I prefer Cyber Subbie. I liked that twist, having him and Smoke switch places like that... It was a magical moment.

And CySub looks awesome as well. definately my new favourite of the cyber ninjas.

I don't think they ever really specified where that arena was supposed to be in the game's universe. I've always assumed it was sitting in the Netherrealm.

Now they can finally fill in some story gaps.

I'm going to come out and say this, and I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it yet.

If, and only if, this game happens to get hacked like it did with 2011, and this site gets flooded with spoilers like crazy, that this site is prepared to handle that situation.

I'm hoping that it doesn't happen again, because let's face it, I didn't like what came about with some people. Telling users that they should stop coming here if they don't want to get spoiled is not an option many will take. Being too rude to NOT warn people ahead of time they're spoiling something for people, come on.

We can't predict what's going to happen this time, but I'm hoping that it doesn't repeat but if it does, I'd like to know that this site will do something about it to make sure that those who don't want to get spoiled, won't, and those that do, well... do I guess.

However, it would be nice to have both forms of him available, to please us all. :D
