Uh, yes, when the game is repeatedly touted as being fresh and with some of those characters dead? Their status as "mainstays" didn't matter much when all the signs pointed to them NOT being in the game.

I swear I read a while back that they announced at least roughly how many old returning MK characters would be returning up against the amount of new characters that would be in the game.

Does anyone know how many they said would be existing characters in the MK universe, if so how many spaces remain for potential returning favourites?

I know they aren't for everyone but I feel like it has been so long since they announced one of the ninja characters. I'm still holding on hope for; Ermac, Reptile & Smoke. At least one of them would make me happy!

I love it too! LOL, I forgot to say in my first post how much I like the looks. The hair, the fans, all the details, the mixture assassin + royalty, the dark colors overall and the PANTS! Yes! They must have heard our frustrations with her MK2011 looks and how much we liked her MK:Legacy season 2 looks and took it from there.

Oh I'm pretty sure well over half of those dead characters are not returning. I'm pretty sure a few revenants end up getting saved somehow. We'll see in the story mode, I guess.

As for post-Trilogy characters, the more I think about it, the more I think those will be saved as surprises. Kenshi will probably get a reveal since he's a big character in the leading issues of the comics but anyone else will probably be shrouded in mystery if they're in.

As for the trailer, watched it again. That destroyed Earthrealm arena as well as what I'm guessing is some sort of Lin Kuei/Shaolin temple with coffins and stone statues off in the woods or the mountains somewhere.... Absolutely stunning.

I agree. IMO this is the best she has looked since MK2 and 3, and the costumes from those 2 games have always been my favorite looks for Kitana, Mileena, and Jade.

Ok, so coming back to the trailer and actually taking time to really look at Kitana I'm really impressed with her visually. Finally, it seems Kitana (and by extension NRS) has finally graduated beyond glorified leotards and/or lingerie. The costume is a LOT more complicated and ornate than we've seen in the past. My favorite part is actually the little armored bits that are on her shoulders. The bottom half is odd at first but actually really interesting. Someone brought up Ibuki and I think that's a good comparison along with perhaps Ayame from the Tenchu series. Also she actually has reasonable footwear hahaha. The hair is really good as well. Goodbye wind sock!

Kitana definitely isn't my favorite and I don't care that she's in but this is a good look for her.

25 years are nothing to her. Remember that shes over 10 000 year old.

Sub, Scorp, Raiden, Kitana, Kano, Kung Lao, and Quan Chi. That's 7 returning and if there is 24 fighters with idk 8 new there is still 9 more spots for returning characters. I'm hoping at least 4 of the 9 are from the 3d era. I'm fine with whatever in the end but I would prefer more characters that weren't in mk9.

Trailer was great, I'm very curious about that 4th new stage they quickly teased, the one that looks like a library or an archive of some sort.

Besides Cassie's fatality, Kitana's looks the most bland compared to the others we've seen.

I don't even know why some people were nervous about Kitana not being in MKX, to begin with.

I mean, it's not like KITANA is some obscure, RARE MK kharakter! LOL

She was in the last two MK games, MK VS DC and MK9.

Kitana is like the new Scorpion and Sub-Zero, at this point. Kind of the same way Sonya also is.

I wouldn't mind if Sonya took a vacation and skipped MKX.... in favor of Tanya instead, for example.
And Sonya is my second favorite kharakter in the entire franchise, so that goes to show you.... SOME of the veteran kharakters need a holiday.... if not in MKX, maybe in MK11?

The MK team should make some more rotations for the roster slots. I wouldn't want to see toooooooo many MK9 kharakters again.

I think everyone wants to see at least 2 or maybe 3 post-MKTrilogy kharakters in MKX.

I'm waiting for those epik reveals. Fujin, Li Mei, TANYA, etc. Please.
