I just really want to get at least a good 3 Post-MK3 characters that are NOT Quan Chi/Kenshi. I think Tanya and Fujin are LONG overdue to re-appear and I'm also hoping for Havik.

I'm intrigued by the dialogue between Kitana and Quan Chi. It could be nothing, they might not interact a great deal at all in the story but Kitana sounds really fucking pissed off. She's obviously not under his control anymore and she's obviously alive again. Whether she's the "Kitana" she was before her death, it's hard to tell. Is she good or is she still evil? Quan Chi saying "Finally found a way to kill me?" makes me believe she's been stalking him for a long time, trying and without success to assassinate him. Maybe out of revenge, for using Sindel to his own advantage and then using her to kill everyone. Maybe he goes beyond that in MKX, maybe something bad happens to Sindel or Jade or someone close to Kitana by Quan Chi's hand (though I hope not - Sindel deserves better than that). That little bit of dialogue just sounds very personal.

Whatever the reason, I'm loving her new attitude. She seems determined, short tempered, and ready to kill. I like this Kitana better than the "goody goody" of past games.

Exactly! Quan Chi and Kenshi is fine... but they need to ADD AT LEAST THREE MORE post-MK3 kharakters!!!

Tanya would be cool if they played up the witch angle they have for her. But as it is right now, she's still super forgettable in my opinion.

Me too. It makes sense for her to be colder....scarier...than the way they've often portrayed her. She was an assassin for Shao Kahn for nearly 10,000 years, it's not something you just snap out of.

Eh, I dont think an other worldly royal assassin princess would have cute hair. They made her hair in this one 100x better. Short and controllable. Not long and retarded. Fuck she looks 100x better in general.

My first instinct when I heard "Finally" was that somehow Quan Chi managed to upgrade to god-hood.

That's how I interpreted the context. Like, she hasn't just been running around after him trying to slice his hands off, but instead doing HEAVY research on how you kill a God-like Netherrealm Sorcerer Troll who has control over all of your friends and allies.

And as if MK9 dialogue didn't hint to it enough ("You have condemned us all!"), but Kitana might still be butthurt about the whole Blunder God debacle. She probably knows he's next to useless. So she's taken matters into her own hands....and maybe even along with Liu Kang or Kung Lao.

Also the music didn't suck. How about that. Here is hoping the rest sounds close to that and we don't get any bland forgettable orchestral tracks.

Ah, so Kitana could be trying to rescue everybody rather than just looking for vengeance. I like that idea a lot more!

Probably because Kitana fans are defensive or Kitana haters are vocal and fans like to defend her. I mean I know I do.

That said now that I'm home and was able to watch the trailer in 1080p glory I can properly comment.

Firstly, YEAAAAAAAAH. I figured Kitana would be playable once the devs narrative changed from "all this newness" to "pretty new". They've been saying since almost the beginning that fans would be very happy with the returning roster so we've known for quite some time that the heroes who died in MK9 weren't staying dead. Most interesting to me right now is that Kung Lao has aged properly and Kitana isn't undead either. Whatever happens that frees them from Quan Chi happens early. But what AND where has Kung Lao been? He left on his own in the old timeline as well. Hopefully age has matured him and they've done away with his ridiculous MKSM personality.

He looks good though. His look is another great natural progression like Raiden and his gameplay looks great and brutal as well.

But Kitana. I'm personally shocked at her look. I mean it's not bad, quite the opposite in fact but it's such a departure. Despite being raised in Outworld she's never had any real Asian influence in her design but now she looks like a kind of Chinese princess or something. Actually she looks like a NRS version of Legacy Kitana. Personally I loved that look so I'm glad for it. And those fans! They look brutal. Sometimes they look too small or frail but these looks heavy and deadly. So serrated.

I'm surprised by her hair too. It still seems to be very long but it's so ornate now. Personally I like the crazy long hair because it was the only think she had in common with her mother but they couldn't really get it to behave properly in MK9 so I'm glad they went in a different direction.
Her whole look is really ornate actually. I'm glad for that too because with how little the women wore in MK9 it didn't leave a lot of room for detail but holy shit. That's clearly not the case now.

But I'm going to say it. I miss the light blue and the tiara. I was feeling both of those things. Although for the first time Kitana isn't princess of anything I'm excited to see where they take her from here. Hopefully some place with closure lol.

Another shocking thing is her gameplay, it looked remarkably similar to her MK9 gameplay. So far every returning character has seemed so different in play style but it looks like I could just jump right in and start slaying with her again. It's hard to improve upon perfection though. Kitana played PERFECTLY in the last game. I also like how her fans pop up in a more magical way and not that pop out the sleeve thing they did last time. The fatality was nice too. I'm a fan of the quick and dirty finisher and hers was pretty much no muss no fuss. I liked what they did with her fan decapitation in MK9 and I like what they've done with it here. Hopefully she'll have the kiss of doom again.

Poor Fujin. He missed out on Deadly Alliance AND Deception, both games that he could've easily been apart of. He was very close to being DLC for MK9 but didn't make it. All my hope now is seeing him finally make his long awaited return in MKX. Dude hasn't had anything since 1997 for crying out loud(Not counting Armageddon, since well everyone returned in that kitchen sink of a game).

Fingers crossed.

Kitana looks incredible! This game wouldn't be the same without her. Based on her dialogue with Quan Chi, I can tell her importance to the story of MKX is massive. So excited about this because her previous portrayal in MK9 was not the best.

Netherealm realized in MK9 that Kitana is not just another female character. Kitana is the face of the franchise in the female department. Not only that, she is incredibly popular with fans so she HAD to be included. I can argue that she is just as essential as Lui Kang, Raiden and the other few characters behind Scorpion and SubZero.

I am sure that Mileena will also be in MKX. I am dying to see what their relationship is. Kitana's inclusion into MKX guarantees a spot for Mileena since she did not die in MK9.

Finally the Edenian Princess is receiving the justice that her important role deserves.

I found Goro terrifying lol. In a GOOD way. I remember playing MK1 and being creeped out by Goro's lair, the red eyes in the back ground, and of course Goro's giant four-armed fire breathing ass. Nightmares for weeks! Good times!

Kitana looks amazing!! They figured out how to fix all the fan gripes of the last few games (boob issues, hair issues, too much skin ect) and still give her something more practical to wear. She looks like a female assassin // wonder woman warrior // princess all wrapped up into one.

You could be right and it could very well be Kung Lao she teams up with since Raiden asks him 'Where have you been?'. Coincidence that they revealed these two, Kung Lao and Kitana, in the same trailer?

They also worked together to take down the Deadly Alliance so they have form. Hmmm

While also STILL looking sexy. Everyone wins.

Fantastic Kitana design. Probably my favorite.

3 new characters in motion (we knew about Goro, but never seen him in motion), several new stages, great new moves.... there is nothing to complain about in this video. Kitana FINALLY looks like an Edenian princess. This outfit makes 100x more sense than either of her MK9 hooker outfits. I like Kung's long braid.
