Woah, amazing.
I never cared about Kitana too much, didn't hate her, dind't like her, but this redesign is awesome.
In fact, I think that EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER is having their best design ever in this game.
I was planning on trying to be an expert with around 10 characters, but if they're making me like characters I never care too much for, I think I will end up playing a lot with many different characters!!
Kung Lao is totally awesome, the only thing that I can't see well is that moment when he spins the spiked hat and then charges, did the hat cut his own body??
Kitana Fatality could've been better (I think she could've closed the fans when piercing his head, then open them to slice the skull) but compared to her MK9 ones, it's a great improvement.
And just when I though Kung Lao couldn't have better fatalities than in MK9, now we get a version of the sawmill where we see the opponent trying to resist while he pushes his face into the hat. FUCKING AWESOME!
The bigger question here for me is if the 100 punches thing is part of a regular throw (too long animation if it's a move you can use all the time), part of an X-Ray or a Brutality.
And I don't know about you guys, but now I'm 100% sure this Sub-Zero is Kuai Liang as it wouldn't make sense to keep him dead when Kung Lao and Kitana can break Quan Chi's control.
Are Kung Lao's and Kitana's martial arts poses at the beginning their winning poses? They don't look like intros.

I want them Shriukens back! If not Reiko, someone better have them!!
Definitely nice! There are a few new stages in this trailer. Kitana and Kung Lao look absolutely cool. But why just bring those two characters back? I'm extremely disappointed. What about the 3D era characters? I'd love to see Tanya, Kira, Li Mei, Havik, Dairou, Ashrah, Shinnok and the others return to MKX.

Love the new trailer and everything about it. Kitana and Lao look incredible and the gameplay is simply outstanding.
Now with that being said, I kind of feel bad that I have to be the downer, here.
Is anybody else shocked and almost craving new characters or post-mk3 characters? I wouldn't say "disappointed" is the right word but I was certainly expecting a healthy dose of characters outside of MK9. This is very unexpected in terms of a reveal slate.
NRS: "We have a ton of new characters to show, more than ever before. This is the next generation of Mortal Kombat"
Me: "Fuck yes, let's gooooooo"
NRS: "Raiden, Kano, Goro, Quan Chi, Kung Lao, Kitana."

I'm not trying to take ANYTHING away from this. I feel as if this will be the best MK to date. This game looks fucking INCREDIBLE!!!! I just wish we had some blindsiding things thrown our way like Havik, Hotaru, Bo, Shujinko, Shinnok or some new characters.
I cannot wait to see our newer additions.
Or Sektor...... Sektor is always good which completely contradicts everything I just said. haha.

The game does look amazing, character design and movesets look like they're the best ever.
That's exactly why I want to see some of the the 'shunned' characters return. I want to see them take a character most had written off and turn him into a bad ass.
I do agree with Shadaloo on new characters being spoilerific. I was a little surprised they didn't show Kenshi's kid though.
NRS has mentioned parents fighting their kids is possible, so either Johnny or Sonya is in for Cassie, or both Kenshi and Takeda will be on the roster too.

Just finished with the trailer. The game looks great, but man. Kitana is seriously boring to me. Really wish it was Mileena or a new female. Her costume and fatality is cool though so she has that going for her.
Oh well. Now I wait a couple more grueling months.

Oh no man I agree and I think a lot of people here do as well. Kitana feels like too "safe" of a reveal to me when there is supposedly all this new stuff. I mean I understand why they would choose to reveal her but as someone that doesn't give a crap about Kitana it kind of just leaves something to be desired.
However it feels great to have the drought ended though.

Hmmmm. I wasn't expecting Kitana's look to be as Asian-inspired to the degree that it is. I don't know how I really feel about it, yet. She definitely looks more like an assassin now than EVER before, but I've grown accustomed to the elegant princess look for her (as botched as it sometimes has been in execution). Realistically, I guess I shouldn't have expected that kind of look in a game this dark and gritty.
Still, she's confirmed in, and that's a great thing. She was one of the many characters that I was waiting for before I officially pre-order. I can't wait for her variation breakdown...hopefully during that stream we were told was to be this month.
I wonder if everyone that died and joined Team Netherrealm has escaped Quan Chi's influence, then. Oooooh, the fires of my hype have been re-kindled!

Not a fan of the bottom half of Kitana's costume. So after 10,000 years she gets a breast reduction? WTF?

This new Kitana render looks very cool!
LMAO at Kitana's long-asss white opaque tights + puffy shorts! She looks like a very Royal version of Ibuki, from Street Fighter... like one of those 16th century Kings, with those epik leggings. lol
No, really, Kitana looks great!
Kung Lao also looks epik. EVERYONE is flawless in MKX, so far!!
Tanya must join the epik MKX roster!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLeeeeeeeeeaaaase!!!
I would love it if Tanya looked more like a witch kind of look... something witchy and messy, but epik!

I am definitely buying this game now and I am going to master Kitana to the max just like in MK9. Watch out Evo, here I come with my Kitana.

Ever stop and realized that they're revealing the characters in order of game appearance?
(Besides Quan Chi whose been dubbed as "He's been here since the beginning")
We're now in MKII.
But I have been wrong before.

I found Quan Chi's line in this trailer to be particularly interesting.
He says "Finally found a way to kill me?" to Kitana. Two things come to mind from this interaction.
1) Kitana soul still belongs to Quan Chi and the only way for her to be freed is for him to die. The same could apply to any other characters who were seen under his control in MK9. Perhaps he brought them all back to life to fight for him just like Sindel.
2) Quan Chi has somehow become immortal. Why else would he ask if she has found a way to kill him? This would completely make sense with what we heard before about "his plans being fully realized". Imagine all of the dead characters from MK9 under the control of an immortal Quan Chi *shudder*

Good shit! Both look like they will be fun as hell to use! Can't wait for more story details. I'm really looking forward to seeing the new characters, but I guess NRS is getting the familiar faces out there first. Have to admit I'd love to see an updated Reptile thought.

One, however, came not from the bowels of the Netherealm, but from the heavens of reality. He was the fallen Elder God known as Shinnok.
Upon entering the realm, Shinnok found himself immediately under attack by its then ruler Lucifer. He would exist tortured and tormented by the dregs of hell for thousands of years. Until he met Quan Chi.
Quan Chi is a free roaming sorcerer. That means that he can travel the various planes of reality without detection from their gods. It also means that over the years he has obtained great power. Aware of Shinnok’s dilemma, Quan Chi traveled to the Netherealm and made the fallen god an offer. He will free him from his confines and assist him in defeating Lucifer and his minions in exchange for power and the ability to rule at his side if and when he escapes the Netherealm entirely. Shinnok agreed and the two waged a war in the Netherealm that lasted for centuries. But, the ex-Elder God eventually won as he viciously slew his former master then took his seat as the new ruler supreme of the dead realm. Shinnok, however, had nothing to rule. The realm was a desolate wasteland of fire and brimstone inhabited by grotesque demons. So, he decided to create a physical world, trying his best to emulate the realm he wanted so badly...Earth.
He took the demons of his realm and transformed them into as human a form as possible. But unlike the Outworld, which became a wasteland after Shao Kahn sapped its energies, the Netherealm never was a living planet. It always will exist as a dead world. Its true form hidden by its ruler.
