I also didn't claim that alternate costumes take more time to develop than variations, and other character aspects. I just reasoned that if DLC LACKS something that a FULL character has, then it is likely that it would not take as long to develop.

According to Brian Charred there was more scenes planned in the Netherrealm. Fujin was supposed to join Jax to wait for D'Vorah after they took out Quan Chi but the scenes were cut.

Canonically, we can assume he was there too since Jax actually never came back. D'Vorah probably caught them in her "web" like she did Johnny.

So, is there any chance of MKX actually losing the fighting game award?

It's going up against a PC fighter that is still in Alpha, a free-to-play PC fighter that is shutting down before the end of the year and Guilty Gear Xrd, which didn't make much waves.

Was there no other fighters this year? 2016 will be big with SFV, Tekken 7 and KoF2016.

Nope.

Not only does MKX have next to no competition, but the game is still pretty good. The only real competitor would be KI, but they don't count the season passes as full games. But even still, MK dwarfs KI in terms of offline content. So despite MKX's craptastic netcode, I would still say it deserves the FG of the year.

2016 is year of the fighters though so that will be exciting.

As if Star Wars doesn't have enough advertising as it is.

The only thing saving this now would be a bonus story mode character DLC pack with Fujin, Rain, Sindel & Baraka, At least for me.

Maybe we have a glimmer of hope that a DLC stage could include one or more of them???

I confess I'm surprised here. When my buddy mentioned that the fanbase would be "happy" he was most likely referring to Tri-Borg. A cyborg with variations that cover Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke is something i've seen thrown around A LOT on this board. And lots of people were clamoring for Bo Rai Cho.

Both of those characters I'm happy with.
