Yeah. They've officially gone overboard with the guests. I was pretty damn excited for this announcement but I confess severe disappointment with MKX for the first time. Minor grievances about the game aside, this is the first thing I can say I actually rolled my eyes and shook my head about.

Oh, and I think we now know our new arena - Kuai Liang's throne room. That was a very detailed area to just be a random background used for a trailer.

His throne room was that detailed in story mode though.

I would have loved to be at the meeting when they pitched the Triborg. Whoever convinced NRS that was a good idea deserves a promotion because that could NOT have been easy. What a joke of a character.

I mean this now fully convinces me...not like Liu Kitana and Goro didn't before. But now I am fully convinced that story should have no factor in the roster. Goro is non canon. Sektor is non canon. Liu Kang Kitana and Kung Lao are hell bound corpses and Scorpion is a human...


So I want to see no one argue about story and a character having no interesting progression when people are demanding a character inclusion from now on. That is no longer a valid argument.

Glad I'm not the only one completely let down by this. I was fine with two guests to help sell the initial game to casuals at launch, but those casuals left a LONG time ago and you're sure as hell not luring them back with a xenomorph and freaking Leatherface.

NRS screwed this up big time. Triborg... Whatever. Fans of those characters should be kinda pleased, I guess, though if I were a huge Cyrax fan, I'd feel slightly annoyed that I didn't get full Cyrax, but whatever. It's not like that's a canon character anyways cuz who gives a shit about the story right? Certainly not its authors.

I like that Bo Rai Cho's back, but seriously... No Fujin? No Reiko, Li Mei, Frost, Sareena, Rain, Havik or anyone relevant to the game, but sure, Barakomorph. Freaking Leatherface.

So disappointed. Just make a goddamned horror fighter so I can ignore it and leave the guests out of MK. MKX sold like crazy. NRS doesn't need these characters. Give MK fans MK characters. Why is that such a difficult business decision eight months after the game came out?

Even then I can't imagine them cutting one of their World Premiers. Even the Telltale Batman thing got semi-leaked earlier today and that still got shown.

I forgot this was happening tonight and finding this is really disappointing. The cyborgs are great, excited for that. The Baraka Alien thing I actually like more than a regular alien, but I still didn't want more guests. Bo is just ok and LeatherFace is the worst choice they could have had. I really can't believe Fujin isn't in this, he was easily the most requested character from everything I've seen.

And as a fan of both Cyrax and Sektor. This is just the cherry on top of the cake that was the saga of spitting on those characters throughout the entire MKX campaign.

Leatherface truly is a joke though. I mean seriously? He's a damn crimp dressed like a butcher. Anyone in MK...even Mokap could finish that peach off in seconds.

Freaky looking? Sure. Thats about it. At least put in someone with some sort of power or life or something. Beetlejuice, Micheal Myers, Sam, etc. Or fuck, an actual MK character. Years back I never thought we'd have to worry about seeing MK in MK. To me this only shows they no longer have confidence in their own characters.
