Not all the kharacters we saw will be playable, just appear in story. I do think more than 5 in that trailer will be playable though.

I'm going to venture to say that Kitana is either killed again in story mode or gets revived towards the end because that's clearly her as a revenant fighting CASSIE CAGE alongside her mother.

I love the whole thing, but my personal best moment was Raiden vs Shinnok! The MK1 Raiden alt looks seriously epic! (It had BETTER BE an alt for him OR ELSE ...) I'll have to take a closer look at Shinnok's costume. (He'd better be a sub-boss at the very least.)

The Kotal vs Mileena bits were great too.

Like everyone else, I don't get why the new gen is fighting against the revenants (Kitana and OMG Sindel), but I'll be satisfied if they explain it in the story.

I was hoping for something that would confirm Fujin, but oh well, that can wait for another day.

Makes sense her soul would need to be freed separately. She wasn't an Earthrealmer after all. I was kind of wonder how they were going to justify calling Kitana an "Earthrealm hero." My guess is you're right, and she stays dead for more of story mode that the rest. Cassie could save her in that fight. Perhaps Kitana holds a grudge because Jade got left behind in the Netherealm? That could explain their exchange in that intro dialogue...

So remember the casting call, which introduced Kung Jin? He and Takeda were on Johnny Cage's Special Forces team, add his daughter and Jacqui and we have our new team for story mode.

Assuming that information is now correct, we should expect Kenshi in the game in some capacity, as it state's in Takeda's bio.

So what could Cage, Sonya, Kenshi and Jax be up to that was so important that they send their kids to outworld? Other than, you know, dead.
