Just noticed, Revenant Kitana is fighting Cassie and Kung Jin, they are not alive/old enough to be in the NettherRealm war. What's going on I wonder...

Yeah...kind of sad. On the flip side she's featured pretty dang prominently. I don't know if that increases her chances but her stock rose significantly. As a Li Mei fan I'm stoked either way.

There is still plenty of roster left for other 3D era characters and others though so I wouldn't abandon hope for anyone just yet.

Loved seeing the new Earthrealm fighters and it seems that whoever said that Kung Jin was the bow guy was right. Makes me wonder if his statements about the other roster characters was right too.

Also, it looks like Kitana is still a revenant. I remember Shawn Kittelsen saying that she was still in the same place in the comic as she was in MK9. So maybe she wasn't saved in the Netherrealm War. Maybe she'll be saved by Cassie and co. during story mode and perhaps we'll see Jade die on screen where we'll see Kitana take up her weapons? Or like Jade is saved in the Netherrealm War, tries to save Kitana and gets killed during story mode before Kitana is revived. Hence why Kitana wants to kill Quan Chi.

Interesting to see Sindel and Rain too. As well as Erron Black and Shinnok! Really excited to see who else will be in.

Erron better have a heavy texan accent.

I like how they made the expressions on the characters better such as when Takeda almost got hit by scorpions spear.

Just because thier in stoey mode doesn't mean they are PLAYABLE.
Reveanant Sindel, Shinnok are not playable. Rain maybe. You can clearly see Shinnok gwt obsolete into the Amulet by Raiden. He's beaten and imprisoned according to the comic. He's out of the roster.

IMO Mileena is the boss till I'm proven wrong lol. That could be Johnny fighting shinnok but I don't think he's playable since that seen is Shinnok's defeat 25 years before current times

The 4 main characters being young, feisty kids of original characters is PRETTY lame, especially the American teenage sarcasm.

Having said that, this was awesome.

Remember just cuz they are in story doesnt mean they are playable. Awesome trailer, story mode looks incredible. NRS has blown me away with this game on every level.

Kitana supposedly gets freed from Quan Chi's grasp at the end of the Netherrealm War, which is the first arc of the story out of the supposed three. Cassie was like a toddler back then.


REMINDER:

In the OT, Mileena gets killed by Kitana during the events of MK2. The reason she's around in UMK3 is because she becomes Shinnok's servant.


We do know that the Outworld Civil War is the second story arc, and it looks like Amulet-powered Mileena is gonna be the boss of that. If the Amulet has a literal Elder God trapped inside of it, then Mileena is obviously way over her had and is fucking with powers way beyond her understanding.

My guess is that it gets her killed.


This mystery person has to be Mileena. Maybe Jade, but that's a stretch.


She goes to the Netherrealm and becomes a revenant, alongside Sindel, who I'm assuming was one of the unlucky few who wasn't released from Quan Chi's grasp at the end of the Netherrealm War.

This implies that Quan Chi is still very much active during the third arc and might even be the one running things down in the Netherrealm now that Shinnok is out of the picture.

This trailer was very good. Happy to see Shinnok finally.

I am not sure that means anything. Kung Lao died halfway through the first game and he was in the roster. This trailer seemed to focus on the new blood, hence the latter part of the 25 year time period. There was very little of the Netherrealm war portion, which I would expect to be the first part of story mode (hence no Quan Chi in the trailer either).

Shinnoks new design is way too badass to waste on a cameo, he HAS to be playable.

Battle of the beards.

He's the final boss of the Netherrealm War arc of the story. People who think he's deconfirmed are delusional. At the very least, he will be an unplayable boss, but considering that even fucking Goro is gonna be playable this time around, I very much doubt that.


Also note that he doesn't get killed, only imprisoned in the Amulet. I'm willing to bet my ass he's gonna break out of it later on.
