Did Raiden truely kill Shujinko in his MK:D ending?

I understand that in Raiden's MK:D ending, he killed Shujinko, as 'those who put Earthrealm in harm's way will pay with their lives'.

However, Shujinko still goes on living his life.

How is this possible?

Did Raiden truely kill him?

Shujinko is alive in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, in fact Taven meets with him at one point in Konquest mode (I can't remember where though).

How? They fudged on the story in MkA. And yea, Jinko is done for..

He didn't go on living his life. His bio explains what happened, coming to MkA before Raiden got to him.
