Here is an interesting idea that I wan't you all to think about. Let's all assume for a moment, that the Mortal Kombat tournaments were real. How long do you think it would take for a series of fighters to defend earthrealm in a tournament? Assuming we were given the basic number of fighters from each game (anywhere from 12 to 24 fighters) How long do you think the tournaments would last? Maybe a single weekend? About a weeks time? Maybe anywhere from two weeks to one month?
I'd love to hear some of your answers.

Yep. considering the other contestants from other places too. 1, maybe 2 months of fights sounds about right.
cool

At least a month perhaps a little more, depending on the fights, when, where etc.

Depends...
1. Is it a do or die competition? I mean if you lose once your out? In MK I say yes.
2. How many arenas are there? Is there enough for each of first pair of fighters to face off in one day? Once again in MK I say yes.
3. How much recovery time will each fighter get before having to face off against a new opponent? I'm gonna be nice at say one day.
Now if you start out with 24 fighters this setup should take no more than 7 days. However, on the 3rd or 4th day you end up with an odd number of fighters so throw in the reigning champion to even it up.
1st day: Ceremonies, etc.
2nd day: 24 fighters: 12 fights
3rd day: 12 fighters: 6 fights
4th day: 6 fighters: 3 fights
5th day: 3 fighters and 1 champion : 2 fights
6th day: Final fight
7th day: Final Ceremonies (or the end of the world...your choice)
Now if there are more than 24 fighters showing up (which I easily see happening, but the opening post said from 12-24 fighters), fewer arenas (I don't see this since there is a good sized island set up just for this tournament), and/or more recovery time it will obviously take longer than a week.

Bumping is wrong; anything that has not been posted in for more than three months cannot be brought back up. You could re-make the thread, but you can't bring old ones back.
