Reptile or scorpion
my reasons except mk1 these guys seem to get screwed in every game
with scorpion getting sent back to the netherealm and reptile not being sent back to see his race its ironic that they are both ninja characters and two of the most popular

conclusion
they are just two trusting (and revenge seeking)

I would definatly say meat because he looks like roadkill and he's only a failed experiment with no reason to live. Even in his ending he get's screwed over.I would also say scorpion because he was killed and had a curse put upon him as well as having his family taken away and getting cruely tricked by quan chi.once again his mk:a ending doesn't provide him with any closure.

Unluckiest character...my money is on Kano. The 'poor' guy is on the run from his old 'friends' because they wanted to turn him into a walking lizard and he created his own gang because of it. He lost his eye. He gets hired by Shang to drag in Sonya to Tournament and gets dragged to Outworld (I seriously doubt he got paid), he then is a prisoner of that same employer along side a gal that seriously wants his hide for her wall (as ugly as it). He nearly dies who nows how many times (at least once by falling off of a building) only to be drafted by Shao Kahn just before the Deadly Alliance plays havoc with the political structure of Outworld. Just when things start to look up a little for him, he get captured by the Dragon King.

Yes I know his whole race isn't on the brink of extinction or his homeworld being occupied by a foreign power, but like he cares about his fellow humans or Earth.

Oh nearly forgot...the guy who played him in the movie (and he did a great job btw) died!

I'd have to say that it's a tie between Taven and Shang Tsung.

Taven woke up from a long-ass sleep with no clue what was going on and why the Red Dragon was trying to kill him.

Shang was betrayed by Quan Chi and was killed by Raiden only to later be brought back from the dead by Shao Kahn (thus forced to work for Kahn once more)

So yeah, Taven and Shang have really crappy luck.

First off, The Black Dragon was created a centuries before Kano was born.

With the Red Dragon, Why risk losing your members if you can experiment on your enemies. Red Dragon wants to destroy all Black Dragons, So use them for experiments to further your cause.

Scorpion
- Because of his dangerous career, he got himself and family killed.
- Awoke and reborn in hell.
- Hunted the wrong guy for a while.
- Received the truth about the killer of his family after defeating the man he thought was.
- The true killer of his family escapes and puts everyone in danger.
- Scorpion fails and almost gets killed permanently by the soulnado.
- Because of not fully completing his quest from the elder gods, his wish for his clan to be resurrected was only half done, now his clan is undead like himself.

In fact, one of the only times he’s “won” was killing the original Sub-Zero... who is now Noob Saibot and a much greater threat than he was before.

Are you basing this off of game canon or off of the TV series? According to game canon the Black Dragon is an offshoot of the Red Dragon and was created by Kano. The reason why the Red Dragon wants them all dead because they are considered traitors and a danger to their secretive 'work'. Whether or not there was a Black Dragon before Kano was never mentioned in the game.

Yes in the TV series, the Black Dragon was around when the original and great Kung Lao was alive and for at least two generations before that (Jola and her brother was the 'current' generation, her father the previous and there was a mention of her grandfather burning himself out using the power of the black dragon). However, the TV series is not canon.

In the games, the Black Dragon was formed by Red Dragon members who abandoned the clan...but it wasn't formed by Kano. MK:DA's Konquest says the Black Dragon had started over the past century...as in, a while ago...and I believe Kano's Konquest actually names who started it.

Also, Kano wasn't hired by Shang Tsung in MK1. That was only the movie. In the games story, Kano entered the tournament because he wanted to rob the palace. He never worked for Tsung or Shao Kahn until MK3.

Back on topic, lots of characters have pretty shitty luck. I'll just look at my two favorites....

KITANA:
- in her infancy, her realm is conquered and father killed
- mother commits suicide
- raised by Shao Kahn as his own daughter
- used as a weapon against her own people
- despite years of loyal service, Kahn tries to replace her with a clone
- eventually finds out everything she believes about herself and family is a lie
- eventually attacked by said clone, who is obsessed with killing her
- put on trial for treason
- hunted by assassins, among them her best friend
- mother is resurrected as an evil ghoul and forced to deal with that
- just when Kahn is defeated and Edenia is freed....Shinnok invades
- wants to marry Liu Kang....but can't
- finds out Shao Kahn is still alive and trying to regain his power
- her pre-emptive strike, which started out with much success, hits a stalemate
- Goro "dies"
- just when she thinks her war is finally over, the Deadly Alliance comes
- Liu Kang dies
- she doesn't finish her training with Bo' Rai Cho and fights Quan Chi anyway
- she dies
- resurrected and enslaved by Onaga, then used to invade Edenia
- attacks her mother and best friend
- when she's freed and Onaga's defeated...she finds out Armageddon is coming
- meanwhile, Mileena is usurping her identity
- Shao Kahn is still alive
- Goro is still alive and has betrayed her
- Liu Kang is a zombie
- and Armageddon is happening in Edenia

SAREENA:
- spents x years ("an eternity" in her own words) trapped in the Netherealm...which is essentially Hell
- enslaved by Quan Chi, a degenerate prick
- when she tries to escape with Sub-Zero, she's shot in the back and banished to the worst part of the Netherealm to be tortured
- she remains there, being tortured, for almost a decade
- meanwhile, the Sub-Zero she knew becomes Noob Saibot
- then when things actually start to look up for her...she escapes, gets her human form back, & the current Sub-Zero helps her.....she loses control of her human form (rescuing Sub-Zero no less), and winds up enslaved by Quan Chi again

I would also say Shang Tsung but for the much graver reasons than those; he was cursed to consume souls so as to stay alive, thus being obliged to be evil in order not to die. Also, he was Kahn's bitch for many centuries and he was, quite reasonably, shriveling with fear from Kahn's rage if he failed at only one tournament. Yeah, Quan Chi betrayed him, but d'uh... Loyalty shouldn't be an expected gift from such villains, even less if they are opportunistic and intellectualy surpassing demons like Quan Chi.

The second on my list could be Kitana, for reasons stated by XiahouDun84.

Come to think of it, which fighter actually has good luck? Very few I can think of.

Rain?
Just recently found out he’s a son of Argus and can be a contender to rule Edenia.

Ermac?
On a redemption path, not being Shao Kahn’s long time puppet anymore.

I would say sonya, jax, ermac and night wolf i mean jax doesn't have his real arms but he replaced them because he felt it "his duty" to earthrealm. also sonya doesn't have anything bad (that i can remember) happen to her in many games I also believe nightwolf is lucky because he got to be the "ultimate shaman" after his mk:a ending and is a generally nice guy(he helped out liu and kitana and also apparently was the one to trap onaga's soul according to his bio.) as for ermac well... he has awsome powersgrin

The answer is easily Smoke.
He had no personal connections with the MK tournament, but got dragged into it by Sub-Zero. Then when he and Sub-Zero returned to the Lin Kuei to tell them about the pending invasion, Smoke winds up captured and turned into a robotic nightmare.
Then we find out that he was taken prisoner by Shao Kahn and left to degrade in his prisons for at least a decade until Shao Kahn's clone is assassinated by the Deadly Alliance and Noob Saibot reboots him. To add insult to injury, Smoke is reprogrammed to serve Noob Saibot now (a former Lin Kuei), and no longer has his own story, and has no hope to ever be his own character.

Smoke, Cyrax and Reptile lol.

Smoke-keeps getting reprogrammed and being someones bitch more or less in each game it seems lol.

Cyrax-Just seems to have shit for luck when it comes to getting himself out of "dangerous situations" and seems at times a little off.

Reptile-Just has to do something about Zaterra and his people already, and stop being Kahn's bitch or someone else that's evil and of power.

I'm not exactly sure why you decided to bump the thread exactly 24 hours after your own last post, but you should know the rules about that.
