with all the interviews going around that have Ed and the guys mentioning Street Fighter and SF crossovers, plus this piece of juicy info, an MK vs. SF game seems almost inevitable. No, I'm not saying that just from these interviews I think a game like this is basically in the making, but with how chummy the SF and MK guys are and how SF has been revived, and MK making its revival, a crossover seems inevitable.

Within five years, MK vs. SF is going to be relieved on PS4, Xbox 920 and Nintendo Kickingassandtakingnames

I still don't see anything with these two games making a crossover anytime after this next MK game is released. I just don't see it. And not just after this game, but in the future as well.

And of course, how the way things are going so far with this new MK game, people are bashing it already despite that it's still in the making, people are going to bash the crossover as well. One word that it's T-rated, there goes half the fan base... They'll be pissed. Those who want to play the game might complain as well.

I would rather see these game never make it together in one game, I really don't.

People are gonna complain no matter what. That's just the way things go.I'd buy it and play.

I gotta agree i'd rather see MK vs KI..but since the talent from Rare ain't there anymore to actually make a new KI....I don't see it happening.

The only way MKvsSF wouldn't happen is if one of the franchises dies within the next decade. Otherwise, both series going retro sealed the framework. If MK8 is as good as it looks, it's going to happen.

It was impossible before because without the 3D common ground, the two game styles were just impossible to combine. One gameplay type would have to be thrown out for the other, and Capcom sure as hell wasn't going to yield. Now that video-capture is out of the picture, this project would be a lot easier from a developer's perspective.

Though I would guess it's more than five years of ahead of us. My estimate is there will be at least one more DC crossover and one more pure sequel before MKvsSF comes to fruition. Capcom will want to see that MK2011 delivers the gameplay depth it has promised, and when it does, hands will be shaken and papers will be signed.

Honestly, MK vs SF would be fun, assuming it's done right. I heard someone say it should be done Capcom vs SNK style, with each company putting out their own version. I'd really like to see this happen if the game were to happen. As for fatalities, reading that interview really gave me an understanding of what this could be like, in an MK styled version, the SF fighters' fatalities could be like hypers that break necks and sever spines. Not entirely bloody, but definitely deadly. In an SF styled games the fatalities could be converted into hypers, that'd be kind of cool to see.

I too prefer MK v KI, but if done well I wouldn't bash.

I just want to beat most of the SF fighters with my MK homies.

Also assuming it's done really good this will be probably the best fighting game EVER.Imagine going on tournaments on MK v SF.That would be huge man.I imagine even the real fights between fanboys :PP

MK is going to rise on top.I can see it clearly. After that capcom will look at MK with different eyes and MK vs SF will be a fact.

Let's discuss on the gameplay more.Hopw do you thing both sides will agree on the fighting engine and all that shit ?

People seriously still think this is a good idea? I'd rather the MK team not waste their time on things that have nothing but novelty value.

how can people not want this? The two games that dominated the early nineties going at it would be killer. And this would be the one crossover that makes sense! Marvel vs. Capcom? Mortal Kombat vs. DC? Random as hell. MK vs. SF? Awesome! The two greatest fighters in history going at it!

KI isn't even that great anyways

You all keep forgetting how abysmally indifferent the Japanese were towards MK. And that perhaps once did they mention something about an MK vs SF.

They have an abundance of fighting games. Why would they bother with something occidentally irrelevant to them such as MK? MK vs SF would mostly cater towards westerners I think.

The new Trigun movie made in Japan was stated to have been made for the Western fans because they "demanded more Trigun". Don't sell us short

Yes, why would Capcom ever cross over with a series that is irrelevant in Japan. Guess it could never happen. Oh well....

Oh wait

They would never get away with this in the US. Obscure characters crossing over with our beloved Capcom games here is blasphemy and we would never want that either.

Oh wait

X-Men vs. SF sold well in Japan despite X-men being relatively unknown at the time and Tatsunoko sold well in America despite being a completely unknown and obscure company.

It's true that Japan was never fond of MK, but Capcom's U.S.A branch has ballooned in importance in recent years, especially with the influence of Seth Killian. If they want it to happen, that's a heavy vote right there. Also, MK has had a lot of success in Europe, and that could affect the tides with Capcom as well.

This is all assuming MK2011 isn't amazing. I think and hope it will be. If it is, maybe our Japanese peers will finally start doing fatalities with us.

Well that definitely boosts chances that they would consider it. I however find it redundant. I am not interested in SF in any way personally.

We will evidently see in the upcoming years.

AGREED.

But either case, MK's gameplay is not as complex.... never has been.

But the hope is that that is about to change. If nothing else, the new game will get proper testing this time.

I will not rest until a game is made that lets me uppercut the Shotos heads off with Johnny Cage, and/or cut them in half with Kung Lao's hat.

Trouble is didn't Capcom say they would think about doing a MK Vs Capcom game?

Don't get me wrong I wanna see Dante's head get ripped off but Sub Zero as much as the next guy but its not the same.

I wouldn't mind MK Vs SF myself. It'll never happen because I'd say Capcom were more unwilling than Ed Boon but mostly because MK would be neutered again.

Would be more interested in MK Vs DCU 2 or a MK Vs Soul Calibur though.

The fact that Street Fighter is revived is a reason why they won't make an MK vs SF. Street Fighter is played by everybody all over the world, why would they bring themselves down to MK's level now that they're on top again?

MK vs SF?

To say I'd want it would be a gross understatement. I'm more like; "bring in on already mfer!!!.... I've been waiting!"

MK has already figured out a great way to host (or accommodate the SF pansies) if you think about it. MK vs Dc being the prime example of how to do it. T-rated, not necessarily less violent or toned down themes, less blood, and with more emphasis on the gameplay and the cheese.

If anything, that game was bait for the SF fanboyz. Now, with MK back in 2D form, the key is not just in the door, but the knob is turned, and the door is wide open.

My prediction?

[5-7yr time table?] Somewhere around the next "MKSM-RPG-type" game, let the campy crossover be unveiled! Similar strategy as SF ran, around all their campaigning for SF4 & SSF4, and their recent vs game with Tatsu-whatever the hell that was called game.

Two pretty powerful releases for MK (MKSM2+MKvsSF), and another really good piece of candy for the SF fandom as well. Neither need eachothers "help" so, it'd just be good fun.

DO IT!
