Yeah Mortal Kombat they have better power's to...

i do like the variety of characters in tekken,
but i like MK's much better.

also i like the block button of MK vs the old 'back to block' SF2 blocking.

the physics of MK are much better also, in my opinion.
the old MKs were a little rediculous with the gravity envolved in juggles, as i don't think bodies hang in the air like that.
however, they did have the right idea.
and in MKDA they seem to have found a sweet balance of realistic hang-time and juggle expoitation.
also i don't like the jump kicks in tekken, they seem too incidental...
like they will jump if they absolutly HAVE to, but it will be very detached, and ineffective.

but i know that people love tekken, and after seeing the zai chit chat cafe thread on MKDA i have a whole new respect for the tekken players.
whats funny is that they had an awsome thread on stategy and game mechanix for MKDA, on a TEKKEN site, and we had absolutely nothing like it here on this site.

it's because the tekken hardcore don't care about fatalities or stage fatals or secrets... they don't care because tekken dosn't have em.
so they just fight.
but i do like having finishers better than not at all.
so i do have nothing but respect for tekken players, the fighting is solid.

but when it all comes down i love the overall feel of MK over tekken...
the 'Enter the Dragon' meets 'Big Trouble in Little China' theme is perfect.

Its hard to compare tekken and Mortal kombat since they are not similar in any way.. other then the fact that they are both fighting games. If you wanna compare two fighting games compare Tekken with Virtua Fighter..

Yeah but what I meant was who do you think's the toughest? I've got some friends who think Tekken are cause they've got Devil Jin, Ogre, true ogre. I keep telling them their nothing compared to Kintaro, Motaro, Shao kahn, plus there's Raiden the thunder God.

MK:DA they would rock Tekken

I dont think the fighters of mk are exactly tougher .. but they have mystical abilities that would definatly give them an advantage over the tekken fighters.. as for devil and creatures like that. Motaro could take them all on himself.

tekken > Mk

for many reasons. tekken is jus a better over all game. it has more depth. just frame moves attually side steps unlike mk. in tekken you can acctually side step behind your opponent unlike mk where if you hit your opponent from behind he magicly appears facing you again. also there are custom combos in depth juggles. mk has niether all the combos are set by the game makers and the juggles are flat and unappeling. dont get me wrong i like MK:DA but its definatly 2nd to tekken.

I like lots of things from mk better than tekken. First of all, mk storyline is great, though sometimes i get very confused! But the idea of tournaments between earth realm and outer realms appeals a lot to me.
Then I love mk characters, their designs, their powers, etc. Tekken characters are more simple, they are taken from reality: a wrestling fighter, a bruce lee chef, a cop, an assassin...well, i'm not including panda, kuma or yoshi. BTW, WTF is yoshimitsu???
In third place, we have the arenas. In mk, they are great: the pits, wastelands, temples, fortresses, and in mkda they look even better. Maybe they are a bit limited in space with those barriers or we can't interact as much as in tekken's arenas but they still look a lot better in mk.
Finally, in terms of gameplay, the last mk has improved a lot, and at least it seems so to me, the game resembles tekken a lot. However, tekken is deeper in fighting and more "free" to play, I mean, for instance, as someone said above, mk combos and juggles look more pre-established by the computer, and the fact that, once you connect the combo, the opponent can't break free bothers me quite (maybe i just didn't find the way to break them tho, in which case i apologize). This depth in tekken comes in part becos each character has one unique fighting style, then they can have more moves etc. Mkda characters are limited in moves in part due to the number of styles, though some of them might look useless.
Anyways, and summing up, i like mkda as a whole better than tekken.

well, the other day it happened the other way round: im far from being a mkda master, but i had been playing it for a whole week. Well, i showed the game to my friend (who happens to be a very good tekken player btw) and he beated me more than just a couple of times.
In my opinion, it's more difficult to beat someone new to the game who just smash buttons than to beat someone good at the game.

Mortal Kombat is a far better game. Well at least MK:DA was far better than anything tekken has made. I personally think MK:DA is the best fighting game ever.

Better than Soul calibur 2? I think MKDA is the best at the moment but when Soul calibur 2 comes out it'll be mental!

soul caliber 2 is out already in the arcades and in prity sure its ether out on console or about to be released on console because i remember seeing the the new characture they are putting in the game depending on what version you buy (link from zelda, spawn, a guy from spawn comics(on all versions) and heihachi from tekken)

oh and MK:DA is no where near as good as it or tekken.

One ,tekken sucks its old time to evolve to a new game and system i think that past games are ok if you live in the past but new is in and the old is out time to get in on the kombat and out of the tekken crap honestly a fuckign fighting panda please spare me how stupid can you get and a wrestler that has a cat face come on get a life and how the fuck are you supposed to make sense out of such short endings for god sake just snap the game in half and evolve to a new one .

you are right. While mortal kombat has evolved so much and so good, tekken has remained basically the same, with just a couple of new features which are not very significant. It is like an upgrade of tekken3 (which i honestly consider the best fighter for psx). Besides, the extra stuff in mk is far better than in tekken.
I think the reason why mk is better than tekken is a matter of evolution, obviously an evolution to better.

MKDA is not far from Soul calibur2 but I prefer Soul Calibur2. And I'm not talking about the arcade version(which is wicked). I'm all about the xbox version with Spawn and Necrid. There are a few bugs and glithes with MKDA. And I thought the graphics could have been better, but Soul calibur2 console versions just looks too good to be true and I know the fighting physics will be perfect just like the DC version.

I hate Tekken and always have. The animation is crap. But the main reason I prefer MKDA is the fact nothing is redicukously hard to do, like the dumb throw combos that need about 5 seperate multi button combinations. People have gotten it into their heads over the years that to be a good fighting game it must have atleast 20 moves that are near impossible to do, it's just for people to show off with.

There is not one reason for playing Tekken.. Not one! Tekken is just plain boring. Nothing appealing, except the bowling thing in tag.
I played Tekken tag at a friends, and the bowling mode was the coolest thing with it.
It is not even fair to compete Tekken and Mortal Kombat, It is an insult to Mortal Kombat!

Tekken is horrible.

Tekken's a lot better than MKDA, but MKDA is still cool. All this bollocks about 'crap animation', 'boring characters', etc. Some of you guys should actually play the game properly before judging it so harshly. Notice how all the game mags and review sites prefer Tekken...its cos people who have a vast experience with the fighting genre know that MKDA isnt quite as good. Soul Calibur kicks both their arses though!
