I don't think he really found out for sure. He "thought" that we were looking to deep and did not give an answer that confirmed or denied the existance of it.
Plus I gave him some more information to go on. Certain statements that have been made that those in the public have no been able to perform.

It seems like there is no Final Secret. Here are the last two emails that I received:
Ok, I am seeing if we can come up with a formal response for you guys. I think it is just a button combination that somehow fans construed as being a big secret that really isn't.
and...
Yeah, it sounds like there is nothing here. The code just brings up some test functions. There is nothing involved with gameplay though. I'm still not clear on the final secret, but if you're thinking a code will unlock something, I think you guys are looking too deep.
Sigh... Big disappointment. But what I don't understand is how it was misconstrued. It was a direct question with an answer.
Maybe just an attempt to purposefully mislead. Who knows.

Well, at least it is behind us now, and we all can move on. I just hope that they never wait this long again to give us the truth on any subject pertaining to the game. Perhaps, next time be very clear about what is communicated and never mislead your fans. Other wise, I will loose all the faith I have in the team and their games, and become one less fan to the MK series. But hey, we are all only human...right? Mistakes happen...We all like to pull a prank or two sometimes. Let's just plan for the next biggest and baddest game scheduled to come out ever...MKD!!! To any of the team that might read this, give us your best shot with MKD!! We can take it!!!
Peace.

Ok....ok....I know they told us right from the start that there was pretty much nothing else we could look forward to. But I have ONE question, just one, which I'd like to ask right now.
Why is the game filled with info such as:
- the loser would be sprayed by the 4 acid buddhas surounding the ring (Acid Bath arena), and even Tony Goskie says that they were designed for a "background" fatality at the end of the round (watch the making, listen carefully)
- in the event of a tie, Konga, the biggest drummer, will challenge both fighters (drum arena)
- to travel through the portal one must first defeat a representation of one's most powerful adversary (kontent, portal story)
- defeated warriors are sacrificed from a floating platform on the ocean's inlet (lung hai temple), and if you check out the koncept art page, there's tons of info showing plans about the sea dragon fatality!
Why? Why? Why? Why is all this information in the game, raising our hopes, only to not be there? Surely if it was just for storyline purposes it may have been mentioned (like Moloch's ball and the owl story).
I know I'm gonna get replies like "dude, there's no stage fatality, this was confirmed, bla...bla....bla.......". But seriously, if you play the game, it just seems otherwise!
When Ed Bood said "there are no stage fatalities", could he have meant "there are no stage fatalities......immediately as of right.......they are locked up somewhere"? If you read the fight night transcript, after saying that he expected us to push on further about this, but no one did (he did say "no more questions?"). In MK1, if I'm not mistaken, you had to turn the blood on via a secret menu.
One last shot, before I get flamed. How come almost everytime when you play arcade mode and lose in an arena like the acid bath, the cpu goes into fatality stance, and does some weird action sequence (for the ps2, it would seem like the cpu is hitting the R1 button, as if trying to execute a 1 button fatality, but without success). What's up with that? We all know that one doesn't need to go into fatality stance to perform a fatality (the cpu doesn't, anyway).
Ok.....there are no stage fatalities and no final secret. Sorry. Guess I got caught up in the moment.
P.S. Good job Wedgegold, but perhaps it's just me, but something still doesn't feel right.

Thanks eugenicz.
You are right. Something still does not seem right. Now with the whole mention of "test function", it seems like that is something to find.
It is like looking for weapons of mass destuction. We know they are there. It's like looking for a specific grain of sand in Iraq.
Maybe it is time to move on. sniff sniff... We got the real deception.
So they did lie to us.

Hey guys, I am going to throw some salt on some open wounds here. Hehe. I know this has got to be a glitch, right? This happened to me today, swear to God. Read my post in this thread for a glitch. I was like what tha!! I had to snap some photos. I wish I had thought of it at the time to switch to the alternate costume and see what might happen. Anyway, it's got to be just a glitch? Check it out.

Just out of curiousity (then again I could be in denial). Is it possible that our 'new friend' at Midway could have gotten hold of "a code" but not "the code"?
I mean think about it. MK is famous for so many codes. And if the version code is a secret, it may not be the only secret. After all, Ed Boon did say (refering to the version code) "it was never meant to be discovered", or something like that.
So I think this "test option" code may just be one of many other codes.
Then again, maybe I am in denial. Sorry.

I think we all are in denial.
Even though it's no big deal, I'd like to see these test functions. I'm guessing this is the same as the "version code".
Can your source find out the code?
Also, can your source ask Paulo Garcia if this is what he was referring to at fight night?
[22:09] There is atleast one secret that is not known yet on all the platforms. As far as I know noone has found it yet

I sent an email with that specific question.

Wedge, you are the man...I want this code too for Sh1t$ and giggles. If not for anything else, it will be something new in the game. Have any of you tried that glitch that I found? It was strange. I am going to try to duplicate this again and see if I can go further into the glitch. I don't expect it to be anything, but it is uncharted ground and I like exploring.

Well let us know what they say... and who is this person at Midway that you are e-mailing?
Look, I'm not trying to be an asshole about anything, and I'm definetely not saying you're a liar -- but a lot of us have our hopes up about all this shit. But you, just as any other person in the forum including me can say that we e-mailed Midway and they told us something.
I can just come out and say:
Sorry, guys. I have talked to Ed and he said there is no final secret. He will answer any questions at E3 regarding MK:D and MK:DA. I am sorry to let all your hopes down
I mean I can just say that some dude from Midway wrote that to me. Just... I know all this shit is confidential and whatever, but how do we know you're not lying and how do we know we can trust you? Thankies

The guy just started at Midway, name is Reilly. Don't want to give too much out so that anyone could guess his email address. I might have said that in a previous post. He responded directly to what I sent to their PR email.
I have not heard back from him yet. But I don't think that the MK team is going to give it up. I have a feeling that they just don't remember since they are focused on Deception. Maybe there was a miscommunication during Fight Night. But the thing is that Paulo responded directly to the question about the thing that has not been found. So now we want to know: was there ever a hidden thing to find and what did paulo mean by his answer.

It was not his request to withhold his name and email. That was mine out of respect so that he does not get swamped with unsolicited email.

I've had MKDA for a while now and after reading many responses to the 'secret' question i believe that it does have something to do with the portal, and in my opinion zebron. In the krypt i bought a sketch of a zebra in a tuxedo, in the info it says "this pick was put on ed boon's website and caused quite a stir. We wouldn't put a zebraman in the game, right?" More mindgames or a clue?

I won't give out the guys direct email, but this is how he received the original email: feedback@mkdeadlyalliance.com
If more people submit, than maybe this guy will ask the right questions.

I know it's your choice, I'm just saying that I wouldn't worry baout giving out whatever info he gave you. He wouldn't have given it to you in the first place if it bothered him, or at the very least he would have requested you not give it out
Not that any of this matters though! I'm just sayin'.
Personally, I think there's something. Although that's probably only because I really want to believe there's more in the game to do.
