anyone ever look at Sega G's mk3 instrucion book. it tells whos the strongest but i could be wrong. my top tier is kung lao for every game an low tier for every game is most of the females besides sonya and johnny cage. he was good in the first but he just wnet down hill from their.

Just because you *think* something is one way, doesn't discredit what has been established by many through experience and application. Your contempt for everything that is certain is unappreciated.

This isn't about, "Who superficially looks the weakest" or "who you suck with" or "who you never tried playing as therefor you have no frame of reference to judge" or "I've never played a seriously good player in any MK game in my life but I can tell you who is the best based on badly I beat the computer" this is asking simply, "Who is the weakest" and of course this is going to require contrasting with who is the strongest.

This kind of thread is meant to educate people based on the gameplay, if you have points to make, back them up, don't just say "I think" with no legit reasoning other than to contradict what is truth when you don't like it.


I've always said allow room for personal skills on specific characters, but you have to understand what tier means.

someone in a previous thread actually said it's possible with something call 'ROM', I don't have one but I'm planning to install the whole thing in a few weeks.

I'm an average UMK3 and MK2 player, but I remember back then at the arcade I was kick ass at MK1.

I would like to play a few games against you and see if your as good as you claim, would it be possible?

Ok, it's established that Sonya and Mileena were #1 in the first two. But I was always under the impression that Kabal was tops in MK3, along w/ Sub-Zero. Once UMK3 came along, didn't his combos get seriously toned down? I thought UMK3's 2 best were listed as Human Smoke and Ermac...

As for MK4...I could have sworn Reiko was tops along with Tanya. I've seen some pretty psychotic combos with him...

Sonya was not the best one in MK1, ok I can be cool and agree with the experts, and say that she is a strong character(top tier maybe) but she is no way superior to Cage. She doesn't have enough good jumping punches and stunning combos to be the best character.

What it really comes down to is, I know what I'm talking about when it comes to UMK3, and you do not. If you don't care, then don't post. Simple as that. Nothing important to say and just feel like contradicting people without any reason? Don't post. It's against posting guidelines. Stop saying things that have no basis in reality. I'm not the one who argues that Kabal isn't top tier in UMK3. That's riGoddamndiculous. "Oh if you have fast reflexes you can block the spin." How about when Kabal is flush up against you and you release block, within the few frames you have to get back into full block, Kabal can spin you, and no matter how fast your reflexes are, it's impossible. Stop playing by yourself and find some competition. Again, if you don't care, don't post, because by not caring and posting uneducated contradictions to facts, you are in essence flaming threads.

Here's my list, and back in the day I was really good at both MKI and MKII. As soon as MKIII came out I started dropping off a little, but I hold my own in any MK. I've recently really begun playing MKT alot!

MKI:

Worst: Kano
Best: Liu Kang (I know he had a weak jump kick, yada yada, but his fire ball was difficult to jump, and his flying kick was dominant if executed right as a person jumped. Overall, if you were aggressive, Liu Kang was fast an effective, IMO.

MKII:

Worst: Jax
Best: Reptile (see, here again I disagree with everyone. Yes, he was slow, but at the same time he had the pop-up fireball, the acid spit, and slide. Some deadly combos could be set up/finished with these moves)

MKIII

Best: Robot Smoke and/or Kabal
Worst: Sheeva

UMK:
Best: Noob Saibot or Kabal
Worst: Sheeva

MKIV

Best: I don't remember. I didn't play this one much.

Worst: Kai

MKDA

Best: Scorpion

Worst: Movado

The Forceball is the slowest move in the game, and I dont mean the speed of the ball, i mean it took nearly 1,1/2 seconds until its activated..
And by the way, you can destroy a Forceball by simply duck-low kicking before it hits you...
You never will get an easy hit against an experienced MK2 player with that Forceball, forget it..
The acid split ist fast and has nearly no delay, but is not very damaging, the slide is ok, but that move only doesnt help him too much.
The invisibility can sometimes be usefull, but only against some characters (Against Liu Kang you can forget it), and only if you are clever enough.


But I missing the fact about something good for the 3 ninjas in MK2, the roundhousekick!

And by the way, even with a 120 or worser ping I am sure to beat your Reptile 50:00 in MK2...
