yeah OK, I see what you're saying.
The CD in VF4 doesn't really bother me, It helps a lot in some situations, but It might be better to leave it out for some characters like Jack that are slow. Just for the sake of variety.
Maybe bigger characters like Jack and Craig can substitute the crouch dash with super armor attacks.
Like the Hulk in Marvel vs Capcom.
That could make up for it.

That's a good example. I never thought about the Hulk in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Counter attack moves.
Sticky hands animation punch parry. Causes the same effect as Akira's
Auto attack reversal animations. Instead of throws, there can be punches and kicks like Hitomi's kick reversals in DOA3.
Scorpion kick= A lot of people want to see this kick and I think this would be a great way to use it. This is a knock down move.
left elbow to gut= stun
split's and punch nuts= cripple and fall in agony like stated earlier.
Slap hand away and clothes line= knock down
sweep= knock down
Fast back fist to face= stun
Kick opponent's leg to keep it down= stagger
drop kick face up= knock down
kick and fall down= knock down or stagger This is Brad Wong's <
Kick and stumble back= Knock down or stagger This is Shun Di's
jump back kick= stagger or knock down
Hop back, then hop forward with a flying kick= Knock down
Jet Li's friend in Fist of legend does this move the first time you see him fight.
Tackle= stumble or fall
Shove= stumble or fall
There are a lot of regular attacks that could be used for reversals to give the game a more kung fu movie fight look.
They could be just an attack, or some evasion or parry then the attack.
These moves could be done like a regular reversal, or some counter stance.
Some of these stances could be linked to a combo like the same way you can chain a throw in to king's 1,2 combo in Tekken4.

Nice list, except for a couple of exceptions:
Fast back fist to face should be a stagger to me.
A tackle should ALWAYS make the opponent fall down.
Kick opponent's leg to keep it down. This should make the opponent turn their back to you.
Here are a couple of more:
Leg Scissors = knock down
Axehandle/hammer = stun
Hip throw = knock down
Slide between opponent's legs = nothing, but you're now behind them
Blow to back of the head = stagger or knock down
Blow to lower back/kidneys = stagger AND stun
Blow to back of knees = stumble down

Yeah, good ones!
Another idea
What about having you be able to auto guard certain height attacks during specific recovery animations. Sort of like how Jacky can auto parry a punch in VF4.
Like if you throw a high kick, during the recovery when you are bringing your leg back down, you will auto guard any high and med attacks
or if you tap block during the recovery of a high kick, you will be able to block against High and med attacks. But then that would be kind of pointless because you would be tapping block after the attack anyway. In that case it's just better to make it automatic IMO.
If you do a back hand like in Cyrax's combo in MK3 or Bryan's
During some recovery animations you could even do a parry.
Like Scorpion's 3 in Pi Gua, during the recovery you could parry a high punch by slapping it out of the way. Sort of the same way Jacky can do the punch auto parry in VF4.
But this would be a new twist on the concept
This type of move could be used to counter the parry attacks. Or if you miss with the kick, you could parry the opponent's punch when they try to take advantage of your recovery frames.
What do you think?
Neutral.
On one hand, you can get the advantage over an opponent if they try and attack you. You're "safe."
On the other hand, it sort of makes matches a tad one-sided, not being able to attack what SHOULD be an open spot.
Its a good idea, but I'm not completely sure if it should be implemented though.

yeah, good point.
What I had in mind was realism.
I studied Tae Kwan Do for a year and I noticed that after throwing a kick, I can defend during the recovery against certain height attacks.
Most of the time when I get hit or when I hit someone is when they are throwing the attack, not during the recovery.
For example, after a high kick, since I already have my knee up in the air, I can block my opponent's middle and high attacks easy.
when I'm just starting to throw the kick, I'm totally open.
They don't need to do this with every attack, but it could help with others to add something new to the mix.

| Siduu101 Wrote: Can someone give Midway a link too all these ideas, becuase it's ideas for mk7 right? |
We won't bother. Sending crap to Midway (eg: petitions) won't do anything. The person working the e-mails will just trash this. I'm sure someone will see it, because I'll make sure this lasts until Deception is released, and even after.
What we're trying to do is basically find ways to make the MK fighting game better. Midway will probably take this with a grain of salt, but its there loss that MK won't be taken seriously as a fighting game. Parries, grounding, aerials, etc. are all HUGE factors in fighting games. These are simple features that MK hasn't even elaborated on.

lol, When was MK EVER the best?
MK's ass was kicked by almost every fighter that came out against it.
Sorry for trailing off topic, but in case anyone's interested, here are the results on Tekken 5:

Scrolling through the info, I believe Mortal Kombat would be better off with ONE melee style and one weapon style.
One melee style elaborated off of the chosen style and the classic HP/LP/HK/LK button scheme. That would be godly. It seems as if Midway tried too hard to be different.
Anyhow, T5 is looking sharp, but the wall system sounds worse than I thought it would be. It sounds more like SC2's, and I thought that wall system was complete garbage. Tekken 4 and Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution have the best wall systems, in my opinion. Wall bouncing is something I really want to see in Mortal Kombat one day.

Just an FYI for peeps to take a sigh of relief over; JFLS is GONE!! It's TT style, too, you can recover on CH. A lot of that Gayfaqs info is BS, aside from what was ripped from TZ.
Edit: I find it funny how those japanese peeps are just whoring on kaz and jin. It's getting ridiculous. It's like they think it's some damn tourny. -_-

I wonder if we can get to see some video from the T5 beta test.
I hope.....
I can't wait to play that game.

Playing agressive is not an excuse for whoring Mishimas and not getting to "new" shit, though. I mean, that's the way they play all the time anyways, they'll be plaing their little sister and not sandbag for a second, lol. No worries, those japanese kids have their shit on lock down. More varied info will be coming in soon...
I as well. It's, what, around the after noon in japan right now? More info should be coming in with in the next few hours.

I think it was a case of "I HAVE TO WIN MY FIRST TEKKEN 5 BATTLE!" rather than trying out characters. If I was there, I'd just be fooling around, seeing what certain characters could do.

What type of movement do you feel the most comfortable with in a fighting game?
Or what do you think would be the best movement style, invent it.
I feel the most at home with Tekken 4 and SC2's movement.
I like SC2's movement better than SC1's.
Out of all I like SC2's movement the best.

With the way Deception looks I don't think any TRUE MK fan would say that its getting repetative or boring. That shows signs of a person who is not loyal to a series.

Just swap the word true with blind and I'll agree with you
I feel most comfortable with TTT, it's system movement suits me just fine for using Mishima style Karate.
I thought T4 didn't do any favours for Mishima style juggling.
