the news of tanya should be a surprise to all.

why would they bring her in?
what can she do?
did she kill kitana?
how evil is she?
what will she fight like?
what will her fatalities be?
how will she kill herself?

well those are just some of the questions going through ur mind!

now, with that, lets kick off another character chat

tanya is so cool! i never liked her but now when i play as her, she is so cool!!!

Well Tanya isn’t the best character in MK history but she does have potential. She deserves a second chance and it came as a huge surprise that she was in MKD. She wasn’t really original in MK4 and reminded many of Kitana, but still I did play as her a lot and I bet she will be completely revamped now in MKD so I’m pleased she returns and curious what they are gonna do with her.

I hope she still she has her boomerang as weapon (maybe alter it a bit with a thin knive along side the edge of it). This could really turn into a unique weapon with really fast moves and combos of hits and throws combined.

The biggest question is why is she back? I hope she does not have or will kill Kitana because I want to see her return. In MK4 she was after Liu Kang and it seems that he is back too so maybe it has something to do with him again. Does anyone know from what realm she is? When and how did she become evil?

Tanya owns! She is a great character and her story was great before. Her moves are perfect for annoyer and combo play.

It was a huge surprise finding out that hse was back. I think her story will revolve around Kitana somehow. I think she could be after the throne of Edenia and could be in the game to kill Sindel. In doing so she could side and team up with Mileena in order to kill Kitana.

I hope she still has all her old moves and the boomerang! The boomerang has so much potential as a weapon in the 3d environment! It could be used for so much! Combos, trigering stage hazards etc.

I can't wait to play as her again!

Chances are she has killed Kitana after all.
Her weapon will probably be her boomerang, but as for her fighting styles i honestly have no idea. Maybe something involving locks and throws mostly, if Sub-Zero_the_7th reads this, he probably knows more about this then i do. Tanya has potential, let's see how she does.

Seriously, i think the boomerang will be kinda interesting to watch. i just hope she does'nt have special moves that change her to weapon style, like Kitana. And that she does'nt have ANY of Kitanas styles or moves.

let's hope she doesn't have the same moves as kitana...if she does, i believe there will be tons of extremely angry kitana fans and that won't be very pretty

You are right, that would really be ugly.
I can imagine the Hundreds of flame threads already... But i think that she will be unique enough. And if she has a boomerang shove, I'M gonna be pissed!

Hey, just thinking, i'm really hoping that Tanya is not wearing that awful yellow swimsuit for Deception. If she does, it's probably because the graphics departement deceived her. And i wonder what Fatalities she is gonna have now. Ideas anyone?

lol. Tanya is a speed fighter and I'm sure they'll keep her that way. I think a style like Capoeira would be good for her, though some might feel that would make MK more like Tekken since characters such as Eddy Gordo and Christie use that style.

Anyway, I never really liked Tanya that much. With her being a traitor, that's probably why they are putting her in MK: Deception. Hopefully, she'll have a storyline boost and such. I'm sure it will have to do with Sindel and Kitana. The real question is "who is she working for?". With Shinnok gone, my guess is the Dragon King.

You're right, Capoeira would realy make her feel like a Christie and Eddie ripoff. Maybe Tanya is'nt working for anyone special, just a wild card, like Scorp was at a time.Maybe she is working to get a better wardrobe, who knows?

Yep, and I would be one of them, especially if she should have the steel fans as weapon. Then it would be time for some *SHOVING*. But I don’t think that is going to happen anymore, this is the next generation Mortal Kombat and everyone is going to be unique. I think she will get her own mover now and will probable look completely different then she did in MK4.

I think it’s good that she is evil, we don’t have many females in the game that are evil. My guess is that Sindel is also good now in MKD so she would be the only evil female. Maybe that new girl Kira will be too.

Well Cyborg_wolf now that you say so, it seems that none of the MK woman wears pants in any MK game except for Sonya. I have seen Kira’s concept art and what she is wearing, well I wouldn’t call that pants either. She looks great btw . And if Tanya will steal Kitana’s steel fans in this game then she’s going to need a pair of those armored underwear .

i think everyone should wear metal underwear for such occasions such as that. but any way, sonya was probably the only female who wore pants, up until now since ashrah came along. i don't really count kira cause they have tons of holes in them. tanya should wear pants to distinguish herself from the other edenian females.

Yes Li Mei did too, well still many females are without pant. Maybe even Ashrah will be pants less in her alternate outfit. And the may issue of Game Informer contains a concept art of Kira, that’s the only pic of her I’ve seen so far.

But we are getting a bit off topic, this thread was about Tanya. So my guess is Tanya will be pants less in this game too.

u know, i could imagine them doing that (except sindel cause i think she's supposed to be good) and singing the 'tequila' song (forget the band who sings it at the end of their cd)...

Tanya, Mileena, and Baraka: *singing while drunk* Tequila! My best friend! ooohh ooohh i love you! tequila!

Oh, and i was playing MKDA and i realized Frost wears pants too. i forgot about li mei as well, as you all mentioned. hopefully tanya will be a good character in this game, or else we'll have an angry mob of people O_O
