Probably a combination of the two

I just don't see the fun of going to a forum to rant about whatever the subject matter is. I guess I just don't have the energy to keep it up, arguing with fanboys and such. That, and I don't really care enough.

I thought they were for debating, like you and I debate.
I mean, it's different from simply saying, "This is gonna be shit." I mean, he CAN, I just don't see what it will accomplish aside from piss off the fanboys. Which can be fun, I guess... But I could think of funner things to do.

I can debate but I feel that being blunt is far less time consuming and helps me get my point across without having to get all technical. and yes arguing with fanboys is hilarious.

The thing is, I see far less raging fanboys on these forums than I'd expect. So I don't see why you find it enjoyable.
I mean, if you said, "MK vs. DC sucks and it's gonna fail," and then you got a response like, "WTF! IT's TEH BEST GAME EVER! GO 2 Hel!" Etc. Etc., then I can see where you'd get a kick.

Well, that's also a matter of opinion. Many people will tell you that Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is an awesome game. Personally, I found it okay, but by far not great.

What Bio said. It's all about opinion. Lots of people love Gears of War but I really don't like it.

sometime games look good but turn out bad i get wat yur saying
Any Mk vs Dc haters will eat there words when they play the game. Bitch about renders, or other issues if you want. It's getting a bit tiresome though. Atleast wait until the game comes out before passing judgement.
As far as expectations......downloadable content. Please!
Characters, costumes,and levels. It'd be really cool if the collector's edition came with some free dlc.

Where do I start?
The character designs are shit {except for Lobo, Doomsday, and Bane}
Most characters are overpowered
Boring storylines
Boom Tubes
"The goddamned Batman" {fuck that bastard}
Superman's overall invincibility
Robin
Green Lantern Corps {Like one GL is not enough?}
Several character name/costume similarities {Far too many if you ask me}
that's the basic reasons of hate right there.

So one cop is enough for the whole world?

You must hate comics in general because Marvel is guilty of the same shit. Too many costume similarities? I also like to point out that Mortal Kombat has forged a legacy in reusing costume and character ideas. On topic: I'm not expecting the next great fighting game, but I am expecting a vast improvement over the last few games. Will it be as deep as Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, or Tekken? No because Mortal Kombat has never been a deep fighting game and fans of the series already know that and too expect such a thing this late in the game is kinda like expecting the second coming of Christ tomorrow, its not gonna happen.

I basically want it to be fun, somewhat easy to pick up and play (not overly advanced but not too simple) and from what I've seen it will meet/exceed my expectations. I can fully understand some people saying they'll hate it based on DC, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
The reason I want it to be somewhat easy to pick up and play is plain and simply time constraints. I have 10 games to play (upon release) from now until Jan 1st, with many of them being like MK, ie: they have a longer shelf life, it's not beat it and forget it. 6 of those games release in Novemeber alone, so it's a crowded month. I want to be able to be somewhat competative in MK while being to put equal amounts of time into some of those other games (Gears 2, Left 4 Dead, etc).

Well, there's 10 MK characters. So you could just fight against other MK characters, when playing with other people.
You know, like, when playing online, have a room designated as "MK characters only" and one designated as "DC characters only".

@Zombie: No just DC. Their characters take it farther than Marvel does most of the time. At least MK's reasons make some sense because they're mostly ninjas, you don't expect ninjas to look different from each other. you expect superheroes to have some more individuality.

0
i'll continue to remain neutral in the DC discussion (be it DC hate or DC vs Marvel) but 1 point, in regards to MK and re-hashing of outfits/characters/design, keep in mind much of that was done due to Memory constraints at the time. Once memory was less of an issue many of those characters did adopt different looks. Reptile, Mileena, Ermac, etc etc.

Not only that, but those characters became very popular. If there was only one ninja in MK1, there would be no Scorpion or Sub-Zero, then where would the MK game be?

Not Quite, Superman is vastly different from Batman who is vastly different than the The Question who is vastly different than Deathstroke who is vastly different than Swamp Thing who is vastly different Green Lantern. yes there are characters with similar powers like flight and super strength, but that doesn't make those characters Superman clones because if it did, half the fucking industry owes DC A LOT of money for copyright infringement.

Batman's costume is basically a grey and black version of Superman's with a few tweaks here and there. I'm not talking about the character's personalities or powers right now, I'm talking about their overall designs. {even though Captain Marvel has most of the powers Superman has} Deathstroke is just an example of a more interesting DC character that looks like a ninja.

What about Spider-man and Dead Pool? My problem with your statements isnt that your criticizing DC, its that your criticizing one brand when just about every other brand in the industry is guilty of the same thing. Hell even the fighting game franchise you're a fan of does it and yet it's excusable for some arbitrary reason or another.
