I think this game will be technically great... I'm just a bit deceive by the roster of the game, cause there is a lot of characters that I don't like (Kabal, Nightwolf, Tanya, Ermac, Noob Saibot, Smoke, Bo Rai Cho), but I will buy the game all the same...

Hmm.I remember this same sort of thread before MK:DA came out here.I voiced my problems with that then as i will do now on this new game.
1)GAMEPLAY.The gameplay engine has not been changed at all since D.A.(My biggest problem) just a bit sped up.whoopee.I get to do broken combos and worry about after the 2nd juggle hit he's gonna fall down no matter what on the 3rd(unless a wall in present).
2)What happened to "we are taking mk back to its roots and making it dark".Now I have heard some of the music and some of it just isn't dark.Seemed more peppy than anything. And some of the moves/fatalities just are nothing near dark.
3)Stiffness.For those who have seen the vids, you will see them just kinda standing around looking like someone shoved a broom up their asses.I mean who actually moves around like that?No martial art cept maybe some forms of Karate i have seen move like that. The getup animations look less stiffer than the actual stances.
4)If this is suppose to be the MK2 of the 3d world, then where are the cool fatalities like MK2 had?Hat split, kintaro morph, jugular cut,etc etc.Body crumbles seem a step back from the gore of those oldies.
That's my two cents. All my opinion,so respect it!!
And of course I will buy the game and play it....but will it end up like MK:DA and just collect dust in some random corner of my house?

strange. it would seem if you read this thread that no one would ever buy mkda or mk d. but these are the people who were partially responsible for the over 1 million sales of mkda. and are obviously interested in mk d and probably are the first in line when it comes out

Yeah well I never said anything about not buying.I simply stated things that were wrong in the game in my opinion, and this is only what I have seen on vids/pics.I'm just worried about it becoming another MK:DA and end up collecting dust. You may love the hell out of DA,but I don't.Two peoples different opinons. What a concept eh?
As for the massive sales of MK:DA....well it's mortal kombat.Alot of hype and marketing go a very long way.I can name quite a few suck ass games that sold well do to that.I'd buy a MK game just because it is Mk.For that matter I own every mk game ever made(that's just because I collect mk stuff).Don't get me wrong.I love mortal kombat to death, but I don't want to see MK:D turn into MK:DA just with alot of fluff.I want to be playing this game for a very long time. Not just till I beat konquest mode and unlock everyone.I want the replay value Mk2 and Mk3 had for me.
If you hate or love a part of MK:D. Can you people please for the sake of humanity explain why you do so in a reasonable way? "Omfg Boraicho = teh sux0rrz kuz he fartz Yo, daMnz, I want Tobias!! :((((" Isn't really thoughtfull. It pisses me off to be honest. And I can see why posters like that get flamed.
On the other hand... If people share something about the latest MK that they think is less then perfect don't jump on them like rabid dogs please? There is a difference between being a MK liker and being a fanboi. ( fanbois get your tongues out of Boons ass please. He's getting constipated and he needs to crap now and then. )
Not that anyone will listen of course. They did the same during the MK:DA period :\
Am I happy with MK:D? Happy enough :3. I can't wait to play it. Perhaps after the game comes out and everyone played it for a few weeks we can post suggestions or ideas on a newly created "MK7" board? Since there are ideas taken from these and other boards in the past for MK6
( I remember saying that an evil zombie Lui kang would be rather cool... sorry people :( )
Bleh. you people made me type a lot.. bastards!

Are you people fuckin stupid? Seriously.
1)TO the people saying "Why don't you just e-mail your complaints to Midway". Ed Boon, John Vogel, and other numerous people on the MK team visit this site and read what users have to say about MK, and how they can improve.
2)To the people saying "Then don't come to this site if you don't like MK:D" First of all this isnt only an MKD site, and some people are looking forward to a new MK game, but MKD just seems like a disappointment. It's their opinion and live with it, it doesnt affect you in any way, just get the game when it comes out and enjoy it.
3)To the people saying "Stop making threads like these". Nobody is forcing you to read any of these threads, if you can't handle people having a different opinion from yours, then don't bother even checking out these threads. I like more thought provoking threads like this one(not ones similar to this but with stupid reasons) than threads like "Shoa Kahn is the Dragon King/Reiko/Reptile" and stupid crap like that.
4)People who say "Don't say the game sucks before you play it". I can agree with that, but people saying this game is gonna rule are also prejudging the game in a similar way.
People all have opinions, it doesnt always have to be the same, learn to live with it, or (unlike me) be more mature about it. If you don't like people dissing MKD, just don't bother reading threads like these, they're only gonna piss you off, or cause even more bitching.

(I decided to modify my post to end EdenianNinja's little war with me)
I'm sorry you misunderstood my responce to you and thought I was calling you a fat bastard, I was actually refering to Bo Rai Cho but it was not clear enough, unless you yourself are Bo Rai Cho. Second, I am a military man which is why I took great offense when you said I need to learn how to respect and appreciate. Moving on to just about every thread that followed that incident. I am a big fan of MK and I would like my money to be well spent. I play MK for the story to be honest because they have some solid stuff down. Konquest I am alright with because it might answer questions, plus it serves a purpose. The board game is pushing it, but they manage to get me to say "alright I guess" because they incorporate the actual game into it. Puzzle Kombat is just plain retarded in my opinion. I own tetris and paid for that already back when it was new, I don't need another copy. It makes me worried they spent so much time on the extra crap while leaving many of the faults from MKDA which many people have mentioned and I don't need to repeat.
KenshiMaster16: I agree that writing a personal letter sounds to be more effective, but I also have heard time and time again that MKO is at least a minor source of inspiration for the developers. I mean they must have read the million+ posts about returning smoke and noob, just they didn't read them carefully enough. But you prove your own point wrong when you ask for the correct email address to. You see people as a whole are lazy and don't want to do things the hard sensable way, I know I don't. I'd much rather flame a few people and state some valid points on a message board then recieve an empty default message in return from Midway saying "Thanks for the letter!" when its already in their trashcan.
And for everyone who reads the third post where I originally just said fuck bo rai cho, then changed to I dislike to censor myself a bit, I think its pretty obvious why I find him useless, and just to make sure I posted my reasoning after.
And also for the fanboys/girls too high on cloud 9 to realize that MK is far from perfect, do you think the developer team doesn't say, "woah now that sucks lets change it." Well judging from the latest MK games I don't think they do either cause how did they let Quan Chi stretch your neck. But they should because constructive critism is a good thing, and thats really what this thread is about. As you can see however people easily get sidetracked (like myself who is responsable for most of the flaming in this thread because I intentionlly posted crap to piss people off). Anyways with any luck someone will look at this and we will have either a delayed game (hell no) or a better MK7.

Well, Fatalies and characters are one thing, that's open to a lot of opinion.
My main beef if the actual fighting mechanics, which have not improved at all, and in some cases, have been worse.
Honestly, it's the players that have been with MK for a long time, that can plainly see the chinks in it's armor. If someone can look blindly past this plainly obvious stuff, then your just someone who's jumping on the bandwagon of MK just recently, and you're lying to yourself here.

the only think that pisses me off is the shitty blood and fire effect.
but the people breaking apart in fatalites is getting redundent. but he i love watching dismemberments and mutilations.

My only real complaint is the roster, which I feel is bringing back past rejects just because diehard fans like them. I think the general public won't like it, and I certainly don't. Of course, this isn't a small complaint--it's big enough to make this the first MK since UMK3 that I refuse to buy.
But to be honest, the game does look great and I hope it does well. In the meantime, however, I'll spend my MK: D money on Fable or Halo 2 instead.

Wow, you guys are bashing a game that isn't even out yet. I don't like this... Well HOW THE HELL DO you know what you like and don't like when you haven't even played it yet. seriously... Even if you did play it at e3 or something you played a unfinished / unpolished version. So don't be ripping / knocking it until it comes out. For you Bo Rai Cho haters: there's 23 other characters to pick and choose from. stop crying.. Whhaaaaaa poor baby.

Wow I haven't seen anyone say, "I hate MKD because its not fun I won't buy it." We're expressing our opinions on what we have seen. If we can't say the negative, why can we say the positive? If we got rid of all the +/- posts we'd be left with a pretty empty message board. It is human nature to argue, which is why you're freaking out right now because you read 2 posts in this thread and don't bother to read them all. You're the one making senseless posts implying there is something wrong with us for not riding Ed Boons dick and saying "MK is perfect lets not change it."
How do you think MK2 got multiple fatalities? Probably cause someone was like, "Man MK1 doesn't have enough fatalities." Critisizing leads to improvement, which is what we, or at least I, hope to accomplish by posting in this topic. And didn't the first post say if you don't have any complaints then simply find a nicer topic?
And as far as Bo Rai Cho, I don't recall being able to select your opponent. Therefore there is no escape you will have to see his fat ass fight.

2 requests for either MKD or Mk7
Dislike: Sonya Blade. I want her back. She was awesome! Shes my favourite. Okay, jher not being in the game won't ruin it for me, but because I'm such a dedicated fan, it will alter my perception of it.
Requests: I would like the coolest Mortal Kombat stages to return:
The Soul Chamber. It really shows the evilness of Mortal kombat. It just has that very scary and evil look.
The Pit, and Pit Bottom. I want this back, because it had the best stage fatality.

I posted this in another thread, but I guess it applies here too, so check this out...
The thing is that we don't really have to wait to play the game to know a lot of the stuff that needs fixing.
We know almost everything about the game and how it plays.
These things have been shown to us and explained several times by boon him self and other people that have already played the old and new versions of the game.
Yeah, there are some things that require playing the game to be able to critique better, but then there is a ton of stuff that we can get from visual and verbal explanations.

ok, ok first off all you people WHO are saying, stop bitchin, cut it out and so on... YOU stop. This is a thread for what people have seen and didn't like, sure their opinons can and probebly will change once the game comes out on some aspects. However I don't agree with the flaming which some people are doing. Some people need to learn how to take it easy. I must say after whatching the vids the blood STILL looks pretty damn fake, I'm sure they could have improved it, but hey I guess it will have to do. Also SOME animations seem stiff, but this may change when I actually play it. I am a bit annoyed at the Bo'Rai CHo haters. But thats just cause I like him so damn much. Personally I think people should be more excepting, I think he's a much better and much more bealivible charector then johnny cage. Who knows maybe they'll like him after they see his more serious side. Some people are being immature by thrying so hard to be mature!

Those who say the game is going to be the best thing since sliced bread haven't played it either. What's your point?
The things I'm unhappy about in MKD are far outweighed by the things that seem damned exciting to me. MKD won't be a perfect game, but no MK ever was.
Another gripe of mine is the static Fatality poses. In my view, the character should not strike a pose after doing the Fatality then suddenly become immobile while there's still obviously stuff going on in the background. I hope this is fixed.

Thanx everyone for a pretty open-minded discussion on this topic. As stated before by several fellow MK fans on this thread, I am a HUGE fan of MK. You have no idea how burnt I was when MK the movie came out and was rated for kids. No blood, no fatals remotely close to the games, and no sign of even TRYING to relate to the games storyline. It seems to me that MK is being made to appeal to all ages yet trying to retain the M-rating. Kinda oxymoronish IMO Boon. LOL. But hey, it's ur call. I do wish Tobias was still involved. I personally believe he left because his vision was a lot different from Boon's for the future of their brain-child. And bear in mind that he has EVERYTHING to do with the creation of the "fatality".
I agree that the number one flaw of the recent two MK's is that the fighting is just not fun. It's VERY stiff (Play Soulcalibur2, Tekken, or DOA and even Virtua Fighter) and you will see this within 10 seconds of playing the game. All this puzzle kombat and jenga-kombat and bubble bobble kombat crap is rediculous. I want to fight, ravage, own and destroy my friends in a fighting game, not drop some blocks on their puzzle. There are one-thousand games that I can do that in already.
Fatalities. My MAIN gripe. Whether you agree or not, it was this unique and fresh idea that drew me so quickly to MK in the first place. There was no greater feeling that to reward your well-won victory than splitting your opponent in half and watching the blood fly. I can tell already that there is ONE formula for fatalities in MK:D and they have rode this horse into the ground and dug a pit with it's barely-beating hooves. "How many ways can we make people fall apart", must have been what Boon said when he approached the fatality ideas for MK:D. How everyone could agree that would be a good idea, I have no damn clue, but it seems there a lot of simple-minded people at Midway who loved the idea too. Just call the new game we all hope to love so much, "Fall-Apart Kombat: Deception". I guess I just expected some uncoiling intestines or slash marks where huge knives have layed open a helpless beated-half-to-death opponent. Silly me. LOL
P.S. Scorpion's Fatals DO suck. Kewl ideas, bad animation and no follow through.
