Looks like the latest Game Informer (Issue 154, February 2006) has some great exclusive information (and pictures) on the next installment of everyone's favorite fighting game series: Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Here is the information found within the mag:

(Updated Thursday, January 19, 2006 by Chan_Ming)
  • 60+ characters. Almost every character from all previous MK games. (Noticably absent, however, was Motaro.)
  • Improved air kombat.
  • All new konquest mode that will play similarly to MK: Shaolin Monks with a unique storyline.
  • Kustom Fatalities - Each character will have a pre-set of around 20 moves in which to dispatch their opponent.
  • Create-A-Character, with astounding attention to detail.
  • An all new Krypt.
  • Screenshots and renders from the game.
  • Online play that allows up to 8 players!

The game will be released in October 2006, on the current-gen systems such as PS2 and Xbox. We'd like to thank several MK Online readers for the news on this story, the first one being Mortal Kombat Schweiz webmaster Dominic, with Khaos from MK Outworld also being a big help.

And, don't forget to visit the MK Armageddon Forum which just opened up today!

UPDATE – Saturday, January 14, 2006 – Thanks to MK Online forum/chat member queve who pointed out GI's Update, which has the front cover of the mag. Thanks, queve!
