Actually, I can see why most think Sonya is the best female of the games. So far she is the only one who has changed in everything for the best!

I liked frost but she was...omg, not sub-zero, but like, just nothing new.

About Kitana, her best was mk2, she has potential, but we have like a dozen of female ninjas, all look the exact same and are even related, and she has that corny "lovely warrior princess" story we see constantly in other games and tv. I hate that so much.

What bothers me the most is that she has not improved one bit since her debut. She actually got other peoples special moves and worst, insted of getting better, she gets worst.

Probably the only thing cool about her in mkda was her hair, not even her steel fans since they were not as deadly as before. She had pretty much one of the weakest stories in that game, and as a character, she has no potential when compared to Mileena.

Now Mileena is awesome and has potential, but the whole kitana-hate situation has gotten very lame.

Sindel is cool but needs improvement.

Sonya is like "the female scorpion" of the game. What I mean is, the main female. Mk is just not right without the tough Sonya Blade.

i gonna have to agree w/ queve on this 1 she wsas top tier in mk1,if not the best the 2nd best.. now for mk3 and 4 i would say near the top but.middle tier.. mkda she was to easy to use thats y shes top tier..her difficulty rating was a 1 meaning not hard to master..now some 1 like kitana in mkda was a rating of 4 hard to master,but once u did she is just as deadly!!!!

Wrong, very wrong.

I seriously doubt there are more then 100 perverts that get all “exited” about polygon giant boobs or thongs or half naked fake bodies. To say that’s the reason they are liked is kind a dumb.

Although I respect your opinion about not liking females, I think you should reconsider the reason you said why they are liked by most. If you have ever played with Sonya you would know how lethal she is, a lot more then some of the main male characters such as Sub-Zero among others. Top tier in all games.

I'm not a big fan of females, but the only one who managed to get my attention was Sonya since MK1. I think she, out of all the original characters along side Scorpion and Subby, is the most important. C.

Sonya's case is a sad one. She's seen precious little character development throughout her time in the MK universe, as has been said, and her being cut from Special Forces didn't help. As bad as that game was, it should have been Jax who was left on the cutting room floor due to the simple fact that we could have seen so much more to Kano and Sonya's rivalry. Instead, we were just supposed to presume that Jax hated Kano as much as Sonya did. Stupid.

I love Sonya. great character, one of the original fighting game femme fatales. But I'm sick of her chasing the black dragon. Give her something new to do, and I'll welcome her back with open arms.

Also to address sometings:

hazzie - I, like Vikiv, do respect your opinion about not liking females in fighting games, it's your choice...however I believe you are totally wrong in your assumption of why the people do like them. Simply put some of the females in fighting games are just downright deadly!

KOF/FatalFury/AOF - I am damn near unbeatable with Mai, King, and Leona from these series.

Bloody Roar - Same goes for Jenny, Alice and Uranus.

DOA - Christie, Kasumi, Ayane, and Helena are all deadly fighters.

The list could go on to include Tekken, and SC and others, but I think you get the idea, Females have a reputation for being among the most speedy and flexible fighters in games, plus there moves tend to be on the cool side as well. These are among some of the reasons that females are liked in video games.

Shadaloo - I understand how you feel, and I think my theory is proving correct. looking at the results so far it is clear that people either really love Sonya (Like Me) and will take her anyway. Or they do like Sonya, they have just gotten bored with her (Like you) because she's due for development...Not so much that people actually Hate Sonya. So thank you, because I think I may have my answer soon.

Now I know this hardly counts as "everyone" but the majority that voted, Voted C, and say that They love Sonya and she is hands down ONE of the best and most powerful Fighters in MK. This makes me happy, as I know that Sonya is ONE of the greatest characters the MK team has created.

The Second most popular vote was B, which pretty much proved my theory...Most people that are saying they don't want to see her back, don't hate Sonya at all, they actually like her, but are bored of her storyline...This can be easily fixed, with the destruction of the OWIA, They can pretty much take Sonya anywhere they want now, very big possibilites. The people who voted B would likely welcome Sonya back with open arms if she gets a story revamp.

Next we have the A vote, The ones that Actually do HATE Sonya...I am relieved that these were the minority, though I never doubted they would be...Sonya is Simply an outstanding fighter and it cannot be denied that she can crush all of the other females, and more than hold her own against some of Top Tier male characters.

I'll go for choice B. I just hate the Special Forces, but I used to like her. Until MK4. I'm not sure if it's Jarek that ruined my opinion of her, or just how she is after the Black Dragon CONSTANTLY. But never the less, I don't like her anymore.

I'm going to go with B, as of late I just think her story is abit lame, thats all.

They can easlily make it alot better but havent, so yeh, B

I think some of the people here don't read posts carefully....or don't at all.

Sonya Blade must be in this game, or else just put her in the prison stage. That will make all the difference.

No sonya does not deserve to be in the prison stage.
That stage is only for lame characters, like jarek, drahim, fujin and Jade who are considered as the weakest charcters in MK history in my opinion.
I think thats what ed is trying to tell us with the prison stage that we will never be seeing these characters again.
