I got an idea for Sonya's new story.I got the idea from reading something TomTaz wrote in another thread.

Maybe in the next game a student that Sonya trained with so many years ago returns to tell her that Sonya's sensei has been killed by the Red Dragon.Hearing this news would get Sonya to have flashbacks of her time with her master and then sets out to avenge him,leaving the Special Forces behind.She would secretly eliminate members of the Red Dragon one by one.Then she finds out it was Mavado himself that killed her sensei.She also finds out Kira is also trying to kill Mavado.Sonya and Kira are in a race to see who can kill Mavado first.

My point is, you cant actually mark with an X a character with huge potential just because of their story, when the rest of the MK family is in the same situation as many agree.

Anyway, I choose C! Sonya owns and she is my favorite female, second favorite character after Sektor!!!!

Yeah I don't get why so many people are so crazy about her. Her story has had zero growth since MK1. I mean, at least Scorpion found out that it was really Quan Chi who was his enemy and not Sub-Zero. Sonya chases Kano, sonya chases Jarek, oh look, Sonya's chasing Kano again.

Not to sound too harsh here, but she just bores me. Her moves in DA were ho hum, and I especially disliked the fact that they gave her Liu kang's flying kick. She doesn't shoot her rings anymore or have her flying punch.

All this said though, I wouldn't mind seeing her back. Just, for the love of god get her away from Jax, the outworld investigation agency, the special forces, and maybe even the Black Dragon. All of these angles bore me to death now.

Choice "C" !! Sonya & Kitana rock!! As the 1st female of MK, Sonya should been around FOREVER!!

ah, Sonya Blade. the first lady of MK. She's been awesome in every game she's been in, in my opinion. But this whole hunting down Kano for years stuff is actually very boring. I love her, she's a dynamic charcter and all, but its time for her to be possesed by shinnok and become at least temporarily evil. How badass would that be? Sonya with black hair, yellow eyes and all powerful. I guess my answer is B

i fuccin hate what they did to Sonya (and Ive always hated Sonya, which makes it even worse) ... she seems like a dyked out wonder women in a fake army uniform.


They need to make her story more interesting... hell, make her die and comeback as a demonic sonya, or some shit... but her being in the MK tournament for the same exact reason every fuccin game is annoying.

Usually I don't judge MK characters by their story. I only have comments on it if their story is ridiculously cheap, self-contradictory or boring. I tend to judge characters by gameplay. And that's where the duality lies.

Gameplay-wise, Sonya has always been one of the best. However, in terms of aesthetics and background, she gets more irritating each game. That all-American-army-chick-stereotype irks me. At least Jax is so completely over the top that it's funny (which is why I like him). Sonya is too dry, too dour for me. Of course characters like Johnny Cage also have boring and repetitive story lines but at least Cage has that twist, that smirk that makes him stand out (although I don't think he should come back either).

So... I choose B. Sonya needs to evolve more in the direction of her alt outfit, and needs an interesting story twist. Plus, they might want to tone her down because she was broken as hell.

the girl owned in MKDA with her "Hate Sticks" (thats what my friend calls em hehe), but her story needs major work.

Bachelor number 3
Her styles Tae Kwon Do and Kali Sticks were kick ass in MK:DA. Her special moves were poor especially the fly kick (they stole it from Liu). Her story was a little stale.
If they can bring back nobodies (old MK ppl who sucked) NO NOT NIGHTWOLF! and turn them into a good character. Then they can do it to Sonya. I hope they do.

I’ve been an avid Sonya fan ever since the beginning and she’s never disappointed me.
She’s been refined and improved upon in each and every single mortal kombat game.
She is the Nina/Sarah/ chun-li of Mortal komabt.
She absolutely rocked in deadly alliance even though she had none of her signature moves, so she’s going to be unbelievable in this one if she’s there.
I’m tired of saying how much Sonya is needed in this game, in my opinion it’s a No Brainer.
As far as the vote I would definitely say “C”
Sonya rules supreme.

The OWA storyline pretty much died when Kenshi was recruited (and I was pissed at that too), so unless she's developed some form of OUSTANDING achievement that's yet to be seen, I don't want to see Sonya again.

We are talking about the strongest female character of the series! I choose “C”. I used to hate Sonya before, but after Mkda I realized all the potential her character has.

Her complete character is original in everyway. I love the whole army-military chick. Her story has not been always chasing kano or any dragon member as you can see in MK4 and mKDA. She had nothing to do with kano in her story/ending or Mavado.

She is one of the very few characters that has managed to evolve for the best. And I agree with the guy who said that other characters have worst stories. I can see hers evolving in a near future.

Wow, yeah, ever since Scorpion found out the hidden truth he has become a super-ultra interesting character....sorry, but his story has proven to be as lame as others and worst. (Sorry if I offended anyone!!! )

He has done absolutely nothing. Nothing. And....yeah, nothing.

Oh, btw, I dont remember kano being involved in sonyas mkda bio, nor mavado. They were only mentined in konquest but she had nothing to do with them.

As far as Sonya's concerned, I'm neutral either way. There are many characters I'd rather see than her, but at the same time I don't hate her, and would not be disappointed if she was in MKD.

I'm glad to see so many Sonya lovers! Everything I wanted to say was pretty much said by everyone else. Mk is just not the same without their Queen. She has proven to be among the most popular and powerful characters of the game and evolved in everyway possible in what concerns her power.

As for her story, her ending in MKDA pretty much told me to expect something new. So in conclusion, Sonya is a must, the original female of the game, one sexy chick with the awesome tough sarcastic attitude I love so much!

Her Leg Grab and rapid sweep made her invincible in that game! She was the most powerful character. Johnny Cage came next. Ask Mk2KungLaoBroken (spelling?), master of classic Mk games.

Mk3/Ultimate: They toned her down a bit but she was still Top tier.

Not sure, Mid Tier I think.

Mk4/Gold: Once again in the Top 5.

She the most damaging combos, but Tanya is the best.

I was never into playing as her. And while Sonya looks good now, (I thought she was ugly as sin in MK1 and 2) I still prefer brunettes.
I never cared about Sonya's story from the start and it really hasn't gone anywhere. And as for personality, nothing about Sonya seems worthy of my attention. If I want to follow the adventures of a tough, sarcastic chick who doesn't take shit from anyone, there dozens, probably hundreds of better characters out there.
So, I've no interest in the cardboard cliche that is Sonya Blade.
