Ignoring any plot implications, that was awesome. Few of my favorites got screen time, but it was awesome either way. Shao Kahn flipping out and whacking people with his hammer was great. Could've used more Sub-Zero or Reptile though.

I love how Shang Tsung kicks ass this time. In the Deception intro, he really just got punted around, and now, he blows up the staircase, knocks Kahn into Onaga, and fights zombie Liu.

Also it seemed like almost everyone died in the video.theres not way someone could survive a fall from close to the top of the pyramid. Also why did Onaga fly away he couldve been 1st! Also Lui Kang seemed a bit freak lol.

Also I love how shoa Kahn launched people with his hammer. ALSO!!! Shinnok screams like a sissy girl!

Well I thought Soul Calibur 3 would be the only opening that would make me fangirl scream. I was wrong.

This beats the SC3 Opening.

I love how it was every man, woman and shokan for themselves as they were running up the pyramid. No alligences (like there was at the begining). Just running up the pyramid. Because they wanted to win.

None of it was canon (probably) and all it did was show the potential epicness of the game. Seriously we are getting this movie and a game with it. BARGAIN!

I do hope there are destined battles now. Also damn my monitor for not showing the colour red.

The intro looks awesome, it does make you want to see more but:

- The story is fucked, its horrible.
- It felt terrible since the start....what a huge dissapointment.
- I really really dont like it. Its got no essense! It feels like the real power of the story was just, thrown away.....badly.

Visually it might look impressive, but it doesnt go anywhere else from there........feels sucky. Not to mention that they kept showing the same characters over and over again insted of focusing on others like Ashrah, Cage, Sonya, Hotaru, etc etc etc. There are like over 60, why use the same guys?

As for the good parts......aside from the fact that it *looks* awesome....the only thing that comes to mind is the hilarious scream Sonya does when Cage.....CAGE knocked her off the pyramid!!!! I cant stop laughing.

Well, also Shinnoks skull hands, Quan Chis skeletons, Shao Kahn going crazy, Onaga taking Kahn away (awesome!), Liu Kang VS Tsung, Stryker punching Mileena, Mileenas scream when she is knocked off, etc.

But all that feels so unimportant now that Im starting to worry the story will be crap.

Well, Baraka seemed to survive a sword through the stomach, so u never know.

And some don’t fall off the pyramid completely, some stay in the lower bases/floors. Like when Cage pushed Sonya (LMAO! I just love that scream), I she felled to the other lower floor, you can even see some fighting across the different floor levels.

Very cool. I loved it. Anyone else get the feeling that Liu is going to win this? I think there going to set it up as the final battle between Shang, and Lui bring the whole series full circle. Also did anyone else notice that the dead corpse at the begining was one of those throan room gaurds from Shoulin Monks?

It would suck if they killed of Shang though IMO. With next gen hardware hard drives are standard between both the 360, and PS3, so in MK8 they could give shang back his morph abilities since they could cache the character data to the hard drive.

Its was awsome, but i think Deception had the best intro ever.

Shang Tsung, Raiden, Quan Chi, Onaga and the Dragon King Army were all nicely animated in Deception.

It puts Deadly Aliance and Armageddon to shame.

I know the MK Team had to half*** the quality. Because of the're deadline.

But it wouldve been nice, to see what they wouldve look like, had they had more time.

I LOVE it when Mileena is punched in the face, that was a truly priceless moment; and for a second I thought she was really going to eat Tsang, lol

I love her scream, but I was disappointed that Sonya was thrown off by Cage; I wish they had given her more focus anyway, since she WAS one of the original characters....but oh well.

This video was sweet in and of itself, but I am still not entirely sure about the story.....we will have to wait I suppose.

Nice I really like the intro. And I dont really care anymore that theyve ballsed up the story, knew it was gonna happen as soon as they said everyone would be coming back. I dont think the intro is cannon anyway.

Would have been good to see more of the initial fights though.

Mileena getting punched in the face by Stryker was hilarious, as was Sonya (I thought she got caught by one of Quan Chis blades at first, but meh whatever). Kitana getting batted away was kinda funny too. I also love Jax's 'That all you got' (or something along that line) only to be met in the head by Kahns hammer lol.

The Li Mei implaing was quite shocking as I didnt quite expect something like that so soon. Poor Li Mei. (Poor Libra lol).

Kenshi and Sheevas demises were actually pretty cool. When we heard about them before they sounded shawdy and lame but they actually looked good. Sheeva looked awesome.

Im a bit pissed that Sareena can only be seen for about 1 second at the foot of the pyramid (only noticable next to Kira because of her Brotherhood Tatoo on her arm and outift. Shes near Kira, maybe they were fighting. I think she knocks Kira out of the way too. But it coulda been vice-versa) but at least she's there, a few seem to be missing.

People Id like to have seen more of are: Sareena, Sindel (she runs up the pyramid but gets blow away by Shang fireball), Kai, Reptile/kitana, Nitara.

But all in all I think it was a great into.

Havent read all the replies, yet, but did anyone else notice someone standing high above the battle scnene right at the start on the cliff edge, the same scene as the Masked guard/Vulture? Wonder who that was???

i don't think the opening is entirely represenitive of the story and i think that even more so since it's confirmed as non canon.

of course with blaze being a central figure there will be some characters trying to get to him but even in the intro some characters who could've gotten to him didn't. i mean just look at nitara and onaga or sindel who could've just flown to him
even onaga was really close but chose to get revenge on shao kahn instead.

so yeah i think the only people that will actively be trying to get to blaze are taven and daegon, i think everyone else will be working on unfinished business.

I really love the Intro Movie..........

I liked the video, but I hated the fact that it is the intro of the game. I was expecting something like MKDA's or MKD's, which were canon and explained the story. So, they insisted in that pyramid thing? I'm not surprised. It doesn't seem that they are so worried with the storyline.

The video was good. The Stryker "vs." Mileena part was hilarious. What a shame that most of my favorites barely appeared. Li Mei didn't even have a chance...

If it is "just for fun", I'd prefer to have this in Kontent as a bonus video, not as the intro.

Yeah lol. He does have a bit extra to carry around than others tho. His puke was funny. And people ran straight into it, which was even funnier.

The more I look at it the less I like this intro.

If I must be positive so all the fan boys dont eat me, I repeat, it looks amazing, but thats just it.

Your not going to see everyone otherwise the intro would be like 10 mins + thats why it's called an intro they'll show everyone in endings then you'll see what happened.

I agree with Queve the story's shot to hell but there may be more to it then we know but thats just a little hope I have it's still shot to hell

But the intro itself is great subzero and scorpion leading the armies is superb and then when they clash and the fighting begins is fucking awesome everyone just starts getting there ass kicked and then it appears and I loved that part and the best part is when everyone starts getting taken out thats in the leadthats great and then lui kang and shang tsung the way it should end a final battle between them the look on shangs face is priceless when lui appears.

IF THE STORY WAS ONLY BETTER

i'm loving because it's non canon.
if this like actually happened then yeah i'd hate it to.
but i'm taking it for what it is, when the game loads up this is the first thing were going to see so i think it's just to get us pumped and excited.

and i think the reason why they didn't...eploit? the depth of mortal kombat is because there are 62 characters in this game.
i really don't think they'd make a opening intro that explains the back story of this game because they'd have to tell the back stories of every single character in the game or atleast every single character that make a decent appearence in the intro.
jax for instance or kunglao all that would need explaining and i doubt totally and completely that the MKTeam would make an intro that explains everything that happened with so many characters.

not trying to sound like a crazed fan boy or anything but i think to many people are looking into way to much.
it's not here to explain the story, thats what konquest and character bios are for, it's here get us excited to play the game.

so i think the intro does a good job of showing us that.
