Is the online mode as laggy as those from last-generation MK titles?
Since I'm currently forced to mess with the single player as my DSL provider won't hand out the codes to connect to the world wide web I'd like to get some impressions from you guys that have already experienced some of the online action.

First and foremost, is it laggy?

If so, does it affect the combo funcionality (do single player combos work online as well)?

And lastly, are there any general (visual, technical) differences between the PS3 and X360 versions (not only related to the online mode)?

Thanks in advance!

It's the programmers fault.

No. Not as far as I've experienced. This game IS better than MKA in that particular respect.

The combo functionality is effected by the fact that there are definitely bugs, and glitches in the game. Online, things I have encountered are such as:

1. The glow from a special power sticking around longer than it was suppoesed to. Or like Shang Tsungs hands staying on fire for a longated period of time.

2. Point of contact being jeopardized, seemingly, as a resul of all the transitions that the game makes to go through freefall, close kombat, and at times, test your might. Essentially, it feels like, "because those things are there, the rest of the "regular" mechanic doe not work right all the time. Bolded is important.

3. Your character will freeze. What happens is, you get stuck in place until the opponent hits you. Doesn't matter who you're playing against either.

4. FreeFall "can" cause your match to be disconnected. What happens is, if you knock your opponent off an edge in a "wrong angle", the game will stick, and you will take a "disconnect".

5. Something miniscule, but also, once you're finished "freefalling" the button indicators stick around.

There's five "problematic" things tha I've found in the last 2 or so days. I've played about 100 matches so far, so you can gauge how much I tolerate, vs how often these things happen in order for me to be able to rememeber them.

To me, it feels like every couple matches....so in reality, it's probably like every 5 matches or so, that I see at least one of the above mentioned glitches or bugs or whatever.

So, combos are mainly affected as far as timing online(you have to tighten yourself up a little bit once you get online), but otherwise, it's just those couple things that you'll have to look forward to.....and deal with. Which to me, seem pretty much normal, although they absolutely should be fixed immediately.

Not that I've seen. But I'm on Xbox360.
Thanks a lot for providing such an amazingly detailed answer! This pretty much sums it all up. Hats off for your extraordinary efforts, dude!
