Nothing is ever cheap with me sunshine. & If you can't take playful banter then why on earth are you on these boards?
-The title screen with Scorp landing behind Bats looks freaking kick-ass!
-FUCK YEAH,THE MOTHERFUCKING FLASH!
-Shazam's got the Gotch Grab. Do not know if want.
-Captain Marvel in general looks like one hell of a powerhouse. I can see his "make lightning strike in front of himself" become one of the most hated in MK history.

I was looking very carefully and it seems that lex doesn't have wrinkles on his face; he has purple paint (lines) on his face. matched the color of the suit he is wearing. the suit is purple and green

It was good but it wasn't anything to really change my mind.
Next month I'll try to rent it and see if I like it or not.

Yeh it was a good video but didn’t really get me excited.
Kano bored me, Captain marvels lightning throw was pretty cool though.

get off the thread. this is for those who enjoyed just getting some new gameplay. the gameplay was great. better than sc4, vf5, street fight, hell all the other fighting games. mk vs dcu is going to win fighting game of the year, hands down
ne one notice ...that both shao khan and darseid will be unlocked when each side is completed....for example complete the mk side you unlock shao kahn and dc side you unlock darkseid..... i would assume going through the story mode you unlock the characters... but i wonder who is going to be unlock from the start of the game....

The scene-to-battle transition is a nice touch. Hm, Kano doesn't look all that bad in gameplay. I just may give him a shot.

Here we can view the fanboy in his natural habitat, scorning those who don't yield to his way of thinking...truly a marvelous creature to behold.

Aesthetics aside.... looks like the mechanics might be fun to play around with. I hope the game flows smoothly ( the transitions look nice)This will surely be a rental for me though .

DAMN! It's to bad they didn't add Kabal it would have been awesome seeing him trying to catch Flash and vice versa.. Oh well
but that video looked cool. Ill probably buy it cause knowing me ill just keep it for like a month and end up paying all kinds of fines. So fuck it buy it if i like it than its mine if not well than ill get like 15 or 20 bucks at Gamestop.

Wow. The Captain Marvel gameplay footage is the first time I've wanted to flatout rag on something in the game.
My disappointment meter is maxed out!
Captain Marvel doesn't summon wacky energy to shoot/clap/throw at people, and he doesn't summon lightning bolts to strike his enemies down. He isn't Rain! The lightning ambush should be a grapple move, or at least restricted to close proximity!
If this is the final Captain Marvel build then, I'm sad to say, it encapsulates the weaknesses of the MK development team.
Instead of conceptualizing to accomodate something unique about the character they appear to have settled on a uniform set of ideas and plucked vaguely comparable thematics from the recycling bin. Adding to the comedy of errors is a basic fighting style completely removed from the character, that brings back horrible memories of the stiff frame, turn-based fighting from Armageddon.
It's a real shame nothing about the way this character plays is familiar, because the design team have managed to service one of comics' most iconic visuals, quite well.
Teleports? Lightning projectiles/bolts? Vague energy claps?
Within the rigid framework of this uninspired shared conceit there are plenty of solves that maintain Captain Marvel as he is best recognised.
Physical blows, flying attacks, and the trademark lightning ambush, all suitable replacements to fill each kreate-a-kharacter moveslot.
If that little bit of flash-over-substance was important, the option to decorate attacks with lightning effects (often replacing conventional action bursts in the comics) would've been the well referenced compromise.
If the MK team are wondering why fans bandy about descriptions like "lazy" -- they need look no further than Captain Marvel.
There's been plenty to be critical of in what we've seen during the development of this game, but this is the first character to possess almost no redeeming qualities. The saving grace: the element they simply had to leave as was -- the costume.

Given the Mk Standards i think they have been quite creative in designing Captain Marvel..
That doesn’t say much though does it!

He does have the lighting grapple move http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn65/jtfmkcpics/shaz.jpg
but I agree with you, recycling rains moves is inexcusable.
actually captain marvel has control over lighting bolts and what not....
