Hello all,

People who are also a member of the German MK Community may have seen it, but for those who are no members and/or don't understand German, here's a translation of a part of an article about MK:Deception in the fifth issue of the German OPM.

If what it is in it is true, it's quite a revelation... Judge for yourself.

Here is the translation.

"...Of the 24 characters, there will be many familiar faces. To the classic characters belong Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Baraka, Mileena, Noob Saibot/Smoke, Tanya, Nightwolf, Sindel, Ermac and Liu Kang's spirit (we need to remember that Liu Kang was eliminated by Shang Tsung in the last episode). Kabal and Sektor were also on the list, although with question marks. From "Deadly Alliance", Li Mei, Kenshi and Bo'Rai Cho return.

The other seven characters are new: little more than the names are known. Ashrah has a hat like Raiden and appears to be connected with the thunder god in one way or another. Hotaru is a dark samurai with long grey hair and a black suit. He is also called "Bugman". A representant from the horrorcorner is Skab. Rotting flesh hangs from his cheeks, giving him a skull-like appearance. There is no information, neither images yet on Dairou, Ken Masters, the female Kano-look-alike and the mysterious character named "24".

Were you counting along? That's right, there's still one missing. It's the main character from the new Konquest-Mode, that you can build up fully as you wish..."

That's it.

I don't have the magazine myself (I don't even live in Germany) but if I can, I'll try to get my hands on it.

Tanya? NOOOOOO!!! Tanya sucks. Sareena all the way. Sektor over Cyrax anyday but Liu Kang's "spirit"?! That's so gay. Just let it go. Liu Kang may have been the tournament winner but he still SUCKS. I hate Liu Kang and always did...

and I really hope there's no charator named Bugman.

Why does Germany get a complete character list before the US? Sounds bogus.

I hope this is not real.. From what is confirmed so far about MKD it's looking very good but these latest additions (if they are real) are more of a downer as far as I’m concerned, they aren't making me more excited about this game.

Really??? This better not be a joke, it sure sounds like one, especially with the whole Ken Masters deal. (FYI: Ken Masters = Ken from Street Fighter) The whole description of Ashrah sounds cool with the rotting flesh and all, but why in the hell are they bringing tanya back? She was a totally worthless character that I didn't even use in MK4. Well, at least they're leaving Johnny Cage dead for once. You'd better be kidding about the whole ken thing though. Let me know if this is a hoax or not.

(shaking head in disgust) Ken??? WTF??

Raiden is in!!!!!!! That's all I care about and I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Tanya is back! So it is true!

Ken Masters? That's the full name of Ken from Street Fighter! You say she is a female Kano lookalike. that's interesting.

And Kang's spirit? Is he in Kano's body or not?

Li Mei is mentioned so Konqrr was right and it's good to see Sektor will be back too. I knew he'd be back!

But why isn't there any information on Quan and Shang? Why aren't they in there?

Either way this is good news. Hopefully that site can be trusted.

This news also didn't excite me very much. Only Sektor's possible presence was a good thing to me.

Ken Masters also looks like more of a joke to me, but the rest sounds serious...

AFAIK this is not a hoax, OPM also has a webpage, featuring a picture of what appears to be either Ermac, Scorpion or Noob in his alternative outfit. Will post that URL later.

That Ken Masters thing must be a hoax! It also makes you wonder about the rest of the article. I actually don't mind the character list but I'd prefer some other characters to be back too, like Sonya.

the news on tanya dont bother me much coz ive never seen her b4 so that'll be new for me however the news on sektor and bo rai cho are quite depressing

Sub zero, raiden and scorpion belong in the returning characters column not the classic one. The bugmans name is hotaru and he is the one with rotting flesh not ashrah. Someone though it was the other way around. Ken master?? i don't think so. Someone said that johnny cage will stay dead this time. You forgot that he was brought back to life by raiden, so technically he is alive. Unless he got killed in DA which we don't know for sure. I heard there was gonna be 6 returning, 10 classic and 8 new. Is the 8 new changed to seven now?

I think some of you may be reading it a little wrong! According to this the 8 new characters are:

1. Ashrah - hat like Raiden, may be connected with him!

2. Hotaru - dark samurai with long gray hair & black suit, called "Bugman"!

3. Scab - rotting flesh hangs from his cheeks, giving him a skull-like appearance!

4. Dairou

5. Ken Masters

6. A female Kano-look-alike

7. A mysterious character named "24"!

8. Your Konquest Mode character!

I actually think Lui's spirit will be evil, along the lines of uh...not doing evil things, but being bad-guy(ish). Well it would be nice.

Anyhow, The new characters actually look awesome. I'm definately playing Konquest first, that is just plain amazing.

The returning line up actually looks good too, it's varied for fans. I myself am happy with the return of both Noob and Smoke. Although on the website it says Noob/Smoke, would that mean either or? I'm hoping it's both.

Can't wait to add my character to the MK Lineup, and then come online and kick your asses. :) Naw, just kiddin'.

Anyhow, I read over the other German Thread and there's some speculations there, of course I can't read German, but I think people would like to see those, for those who can translate it.

I also think someone should grab that magazine too, because the scans and renders look great, if they're all like the Noob Saibot/ Smoke one.

Im pretty sure that pic is of Smoke. Noob Saibot has dark skin anyway. And in the background you can make out literal clouds of smoke. Now all we need is Rain and we'll have all 6 of the real human ninjas! Secret character maybe? I think so!

Bringing back Liu Kang from death after just 1 game is a bad idea. Boon shouldve waited for at least MK7 to do this. What do guys think about there be any real hidden characters in addition to the core 24?

I don't believe any of that shit. It all sounds dumb, and because of the inside info I have and I know, it's false. So stupid that people would even do that. And if Liu Kang is in MKD, then i'll be extremely, extremely pissed off. Same goes with Tanya.
