Kintaro is my favourite sub-boss, see there is more than one of us. I prefer him over goro due to his animalic nature, I have some shamanic influences so that explains a lot, and he also seemed more agile and now that he is less buff in MKA he is following his tiger traits more which I think is great.
Kintaro is a bit of mystery so far and I believe he should have his shot in the MK series. Because very little is known about him the MK Team has a great opportunity here, they can move his story and character in whatever way. I think that the whole last shokan idea isn’t a very original or suitable, because we already have a last survivors of a specie (Reptile and Khameleon) and Kintaro doesn’t even seem as shokan as the rest.
My idea is this, it isn’t the most original idea but it works, Kintaro belonged to an animal like specie, lets call them the Shar N’ak, (zoomorphic humanoids with tiger, lion, panther, wolf, cougar, jaguar and so forth traits and appearance) that thrived in Edenia. He was the leader of the warrior caste of his society, when Shao Khan discovered him he decided to recruit him in his army, however Kintaro clearly refused saying that he cannot abolish his shamanic beliefs and aid Shao Khan in unbalancing the worlds. Shao Khan was furious of Kintaro’s refusal and ordered Shang Tsung to transmute him into a shokan, Shang Tsung managed to reshape Kintaro and remove his memories however his animalic nature could not be subdued and his tiger appearance is still visible. He served under King Gorbak and because he proved such a mighty warrior he was sent to take Goro’s place in the MK tournament.
After his defeat in MK2 Kintaro fled Shao Khan’s fury and managed to escape to Edenia. Here he wondered the plains until he found a small group of Shar N’ak that were running away from a Tarkatan brigade. When they saw Kintaro they were shocked he seemed like them but he was mightier, more massive and had four arms, this abomination was unbelievable to them. One of the Shar N’ak recognized Kintaro’s markings and told the rest and Kintaro himself the once proud caste leader’s story. Kintaro’s memories came back due to this intercourse in his past and requested that he be taken back to the Shar N’ak encampment.
When the elders of the tribe saw him they felt contradictory sensations they rejoiced because their greatest of warriors had returned but his new shape brought great sorrow in their hearts. Kintaro swore that he would lead the warrior caste yet again to fight off all that would endanger his people’s way of life and that we would get his revenge for his transmutation. The elders told him that on the highest peaks of the Edenian mountains there was rumoured to have been an ancient shrine of their great nature god and he might be able to undo his shape. Kintaro seemed to have no other choice so he travelled up the highest peak and found the secluded shrine. The nature god told him that he would give him his shape back if the agreed to eliminate a greater evil that was threatening the balance Shang Tsung the very sorcerer that had transmuted him was a continuous threat towards nature’s balance. Kintaro gladly accepted knowing this was also his way towards revenge. His training with the Shar N’ak for the upcoming MK tournament has reduced some of his shokan traits and massive size and has given him back some of his feline agility. He is now ready to avenge his faith and rid Edenia of the foul sorcerer.
And i hope he does survive the Armageddon.
Hope you liked it.

Let's just say that's one angle I bet nobody has thought of. Very nice.

It ́s hard to talk about Kintaro. He hasn't a storyline.
First, we have no idea where he is since MK II. I have a guess that he was hidden all that time, like Goro. Now, in MK:A, he will help Shao Kahn in whatever he'll want to do.
Kintaro seems to be the only shokan who not betrayed Shao Kahn. Since the emperor will probably be involved with Edenia, maybe Kintaro will be there too. Also, it seems that he has some respect for Goro, which reforces this idea once Goro and Shao Kahn are allies again.
His future is unpredictable too. If he dies, he won't do any difference in MK's story. The only chance he has to survive is if he makes an enemy during his way in MK:A. This enemy could be any character that also has no much storyline like Kai or Nightwolf.
That's what I think about Kintaro. I also think that Goro's storyline in MK:D would fit better in Kintaro.

I never said that Nightwolf has no storyline, I said that he doesn't have much storyline. Maybe I didn't expressed it right (sorry, english isn't my first language...), but I wanted to mean the same thing you said ("It certainly isn't a major piece in MK, but it has some substance to it").
A rivalry between Kintaro and Nightwolf was just something that I thought while I was writing that. I don't have this clear in my head yet, but maybe it's a way to explore his substance.
Maybe we can discuss this better when we're discussing Nightwolf.

Agreed. I didn't catch the "much" in there.
Anyway, because I'm not the only one thinking about the whole Goro-Kintaro fight thing, I pose the following question: Can Kintaro get Sheeva on to his side?

Kintaro's pretty good. He's my second favorite shokan. He has NO story at all. I imagine he joins with Kahn, and he and Goro fight for being second-in-command. Goro becomes second-in-command, infuriating Kintaro. Kintaro attacks Kahn, but Kahn hammers him. That is the end of Kintaro.

yh dude kintaro is sooo much cooler thn goro so he shud have a better story.

Where Kintaro Has Been:
I was once the supreme commander of the Outworlds armed forces. In fact, I was second only to Kahn himself. Then, some Earthrealm scum defeated Prince Goro. I vowed revenge against this pathetic mortal named Lui Kang.
I went into hiding in a cave far from civilisation. The only one who knew of my location was Shao Kahn's sorcerer, Shang Tsung. The plan was to wait until Lui Kang thought I was dead, and then defeat him by a suprise attack. Tsung would keep me informed about what happened outside of my cave. It seemed everything would be alright.
Tsung told me that about Shao Kahn turned against the Shokan. I was not surprised. With the defeat of Goro and my absence, I always knew that Kahn would turn on us for a stronger side. Something that Tsung told me stuck out. Sheeva killed Motaro, then Kahn killed her. It seems both Sheeva and I may have a common foe in Shao Kahn. I may have a powerful ally...
Some time later, Shang Tsung came to me and told me of his new formed Deadly Alliance. Apparently, they had slain both Kahn and Lui Kang. This information made me realise there was no longer a purpose to remain in my cave, but Tsung warned me to stay. I did as he told.
Kintaro in MKA:
It was many years until I finally realized Tsung was no longer coming back. I decided to leave my cave in search of him. Perhaps he forgot about me. Perhaps he was too busy to visit. Perhaps he was leaving me for dead. Whatever his reason, I seek revenge.
After travelling through Outworld, I have realized Tsung was not at all trust-worthy. As I walked through the Living Forest, I spotted Shao Kahn and Goro scheming. It would seem that Tsung was lying about him slaying Kahn. I didn't allow Kahn to see me, but I continued to search through Outworld for Shang Tsung.
In my search for the sorcerer I met Sheeva. She explained to me that Shao Kahn did in fact turn against the Shokan. She explained that she defeated Motaro herself, but when attacking Kahn she was more careful. She sent another female Shokan willing to fight Kahn to suprise him. Unfortunately, Kahn was tipped off about "Sheeva's" attack. He killed the decoy and presumed Sheeva was dead. Instead of attacking a distracted Kahn as planned, she would use the element of surprise later.
It turns out Sheeva is now loyal to the Edenians. She can be useful to get inside information about Lui Kang who is still alive (another one of Tsung's lies). She says she will not betray her new Queen, Sindel. I will again bide my time and work on her. Together, we can defeat Lui Kang, Shang Tsung and Shao Kahn.

That's not too bad of a story idea though it makes his backstory out to be kind of small in that he just waited in some cave. I mean, what about his role in the tournament? Who did he fight?
The Kintaro/Sheeva alliance is a maybe. You would think that Shang Tsung would call on Kintaro to aid him against the Earthrealm heroes and all that.
Btw, it's LIU KANG.

He is going to team up with Onaga, kill Goro, and take over as the new king of the Shokan.

OKay, was told it's time to start the next character:
Jade
Jade is an Edenian warrior and close friend of Princess Kitana. Very little is known about her past aside from she is a childhood friend of Kitana and was an assassin for Shao Kahn. While Edenian, it is unknown what...if anything...she knew about the realm or her family while she served Kahn.
Jade served as one of Shao Kahn's personal assassins until he began his invasion of Earth when she was partnered with Reptile to find the renegade Kitana. Even though she was assured Kahn wanted her back alive, Jade found herself reluctant to carry out her orders and was forced to choose between betraying her friend or dispbeying her Emperor. Jade ultimately sided with Kitana, helping her fend off Reptile, and together joined with her Earthrealm allies to fight Kahn's forces.
After Shao Kahn was defeated, Jade devoted herself to assisted Kitana and her mother Queen Sindel in the freeing and restoring of Edenia. Around this time, Edenia was invaded by the fallen Elder God Shinnok with the help of the traitor Tanya. Jade was presumable captured alongside Sindel and Kitana during this time, so was unable to fight Shinnok's forces. Nevertheless, Tanya's betrayal had earned Jade's wrath.
After Shinnok's defeat, Kitana returned to restoring Edenia and later led the pre-emptive strike against Shao Kahn's forces alongside Prince Goro. While it is unknown for certain what Jade's role was at this time, she was most likely fighting alongside the Edenian forces against what was left of Shao Kahn's armies. When victory seemed to be at hand, Kitana found herself drawn into the conflict with the Deadly Alliance of Quan Chi and Shang Tsung.
Kitana would rejoin her allies from Earth and participate in an assault on Shang Tsung's Palace. Jade attempted to join with them, but arrived too late...finding their dead bodies outside the Palace. As a heartbroken Jade knelt beside her fallen friend, she saw a large dragon-like creature approaching the Palace. She ducked into the shadows to witness the creature, Onaga, resurrect the fallen heroes...placing them under a powerful spell.
Onaga ordered his newfound slaves to await his orders in the Living Forest and Jade followed in secret. Onaga and the enslaved heroes would then invade Edenia...Kitana herself being used to capture and imprison her own mother. Wasting no time, Jade attacked Kitana...managing to push her into a prison cell of her own while Jade freed Sindel. Kitana then began screaming for the guards to capture them, forcing Jade and Sindel to retreat back to Outworld...but not before Jade caught a glimpse of Tanya standing by Onaga's side.
When we last left Jade, she was not only assisting Sindel in trying to find a way to destroy Onaga and rescue Kitana, but she also sought to finally bring Tanya to justice for once again betraying Edenia.

I've always liked Jade, even though she is a minor character. I think she just has the Wedge appeal. However, I would like to see her expand into more of her own character so she can be more that just "Kitana's sidekick."
I'd like to see Jade's background explored a bit more. As stated, we still know very little about her. What did she know about Edenia? DID she know anything about Edenia or was she like Kitana and grew up with no knowledge? Who is her family and did she know them? Why is she such good friends with Kitana? Is it simply because they grew up together or is there a deeper reason? Does she have any history with Tanya or does she simply hate her for being a traitor?
There are lots of unaswered questions about Jade...unfortunately, I don't think we'll get to see all of them addressed since this game is looking to wrap things up. We can guess that by now, Kitana is free from Onaga's control...however Tanya is still alive, Mileena is controlling Edenia's armies, and Goro is serving Shao Kahn again. So where can Jade stand?
What I think should happen in Armageddon is while Kitana and Sindel are off to take down Shao Kahn, Jade is left in charge of leading Edenia's armies. However Jade, who's always been the soldier, is unsure if she's effective leader. She would have to adjust to a new role as the leader of Edenia's armies and defend against the numerous threats. This would be a perfect way for Jade to step out of Kitana's shadow and become something of her own character.
Chief among the threats Jade would have to face is Tanya. This would allow an oppurtunity for a history and/or actual rivalry between them to be developed. I'd like it if their feud was more than just simply loyalist vs. traitor. My idea is Jade and Tanya used to be friends and when Shinnok invaded Edenia, Tanya offered to let Jade join her. But Jade, ever loyal to Kitana, refused. So Tanya, being a selfish bitch, feels Jade actually betrayed her, choosing Kitana over her. And to keep it interesting, they should have it Jade is a superior fighter...but Tanya is smarter. So Jade's challenge would be making it through the gauntlet Tanya throws at her.
In addition to Tanya, there's also Mileena, Baraka, and Goro. However, Mileena and Baraka will probably be more occupied with themselves or others...but the Shokan could prove trouble for Jade and Edenia. Now that Goro's betrayed Edenia, his people could pose a serious threat to Edenia's armies...knowing their secrets and we should also bear in mind they might not even know Goro's working for Kahn again.
There's also Rain who is a wild-card. If he were to join with Tanya, he could become another adversary for Jade to overcome. Or he could wind up helping Jade. Or maybe he's playing both sides? Assuming he even gets involved...he might end up more tied to Kitana and Shao Kahn.
I think Jade should survive Armageddon and return in the next gen. I think since Kitana may retire, we should see the torch be passed to Jade. That way in future games, the unanswered questions about Jade can be answered and she can be further developed into her own character. They would just need to be careful Jade wouldn't fall into a similar monotonous routine of only protecting Edena like Kitana has.
I know it's a long...LONG...shot, but I would like it if something like the ending I wrote for Jade and Tanya happened, where Edenia's portals are perminately shut...but Jade is stranded in Outworld and enslaved by Tanya. Then in the next gen, we can see Jade trying to escape Tanya and their rivalry can continue on and grow....because one of the things I thought would've made their feud more interesting is have Tanya get the upper hand as opposed to Jade always winning.
That'd be cool, but I know the odds of that happening are slim to none. Nevertheless, I hope in Armageddon we'll get to see there's more to Jade than just being Kitana's sidekick and I hope we'll see her become a more prominent character in the future gen games.

Jade, she is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed playing with her in UMK3. Playing her in MKD was quite fun, too. Gameplay wise, she is quite useful. Her story was quite interesting. The rivalry between her and Tanya was quite interesting. I agree with XD84 about seeing Jade much more developed in MK:Armageddon.
For now, I want her to have Tanya's head...

First off, great analysis XiahouDun84. Also, great avatar.
Anyhoo, Jade is a favorite character of mine, but I must admit that her story has always been rather lacking. I would like to see a great deal of fleshing out with her storyline, answering questions that you've already addressed, and maybe some others.
I personally am not sure what Jade should do in MKA, but I will say that I want her to defeat Tanya for good. I too would like to see Jade continue on to the next-gen MK games and be more of a major character.
Now I know this isn't really story related, but I love the whole Amazon warrior thing they've got going for her look. It's awesome.
Gameplay-wise, she's been decent, but in MKD, she didn't have much going for her in terms of speed and safeness. I'd personally like for her to use Fu Jow Pai due to its stance similarity to her MKT stance as well as its speed, strength, and overall linearity. Plus, it has good lows like D + 1 and D + 4 and a good mid with B + 2.
Going back to story, although I don't like Tanya, they do need to go further into explanation about their rivalry. Them being friends, like in that story you're writing, would add more depth to both of them. Btw, I see you've updated it so I'm going to go check that out.
I wonder about Jade's relationship with Kitana as to how they became friends. To me, they seem to have kind of a sisterly relationship though I'm not sure if Jade would be like the little sister or the bigger sister. I wonder if there is even more to it than just that.
Either way, Jade is a character that I like, and she has some potential. It would be a damn shame if they let that potential go to waste.

that was a great story for kintaro i loved it.In a way i sorta understand why kintaros ugly im just joking. But kintaro is a strong person but in mksm he was too easy i say.they should have made him stronger

Um, we're talking about Jade now, not Kintaro...
Jade is another favorite of mine, but I think she has the same problem as Kung Lao: both are overshadowed by another character (Kitana and Liu Kang).
I believe that if they develop Jade and Tanya's rivalry would be a way to give her more personality. Maybe they can do it giving more background story to it. In Jade's MKD bio, she seemed to be surprised when she saw Tanya with the Dragon King, so I do think that their relation isn't limited on loyalty and betray.
Since in MKA Kitana and Sindel (and maybe Rain) will probably be occupied with Shao Kahn and Mileena, Jade seems to be the only edenian in Tanya's way. So, if they have any kind of background story, this is the chance to explore it.
Yeah, we don't know much about Jade's past. If she survives, perhaps it can be more explored in the next games. But there are also a lot of pending things about her that probably will never be answered: where was she during MK4/MKG and MKDA?
Anyway, her rivalry with Tanya is very interesting to be showed just in two games. I would prefer to see it better developed in the next games, making it cross Edenia's borders. But it seems that they want to finish all the current rivalries. If so, I would prefer to see Jade just killing Tanya in a painful way.

Like people have said, we don't know much about Jade due to her lack of appearances mostly. I have a feeling that we'll see her feud with Tanya continue and I have a feeling that it will be Jade who kills Tanya. Aside from XiahouDun84 and a few others, nobody really likes Tanya, so her survival is in doubt. (but that's another story)
I think Jade should return in the next generation, and take Kitana's place, who I feel probably should retire. I would think that at the end of this game, she'll become the Captain of the Guard and maybe the King/Queen's protector as well. Not much for me to say when it comes to Jade...

It's Kintaro, and no, they are not brothers. Goro has no family other than his parents, and nothing is known about Kintaro's lineage.

Jade is one of my favorite characters and I think that if she killed Tanya here and now, in MKA, it would be better for her story. Think about it. MKA is intended to give CLOSURE to the series thus far. I can't see both Jade and Tanya surviving because they can't keep too many characters around for MK8, otherwise they can't create many new fighters.
Now, back to Jade. Again, I think her ending should be to kill Tanya. In addition, I think that Kitana should become Queen and be kept out of harm's way and Jade should take over the Edenian army. Should Jade continue on to MK8? If Kitana doesn't, I think Jade should be kept around. Have her become one of the new main forces for good, because there will very likely be new and bigger threats to the safety of Edenia, knowing the MK Team. Jade can almost become the new Kitana, provided they don't lay out Jade's story exactly the same as Kitana's has been.

Hi everyone!
I've always liked Jade too, but I think that only her or Kitana should move on to next-gen, cause as Kitana's quest for Edenia is getting old, so is Jade's support towards her.
I think that Jade's story should complicate in MKA ( maybe discovering some connection with Tanya AFTER she kills her) leaving her somewhat bitter and cruel against the world and then, If Kitana gets retired in Armaggedon (but I don ́t think that will happen) she could come back as a neutral-dark force in MK.

A few things:
Welcome to MKO.
Nice post, I thought about it and I agree, that would be interesting.
You're about the 5th person I've seen with that avatar. No worries, though.
Enjoy your stay.

Ah, Jade. She has to be my favorite female fighter next to Kitana. I really hope she does survive into the next generation. She has so much potential just like Kintaro, Sheeva, Motaro, Rain ect... All those characters who have only been in a few games should live to fight in MK8 and beyond. Especially after I saw her in MK: Deception. She is good lookin for a character in the MK universe.

Jade is one of my favourite characters and I would also like to see the Jade vs. Tanya rivalry end with Jade succeeding. With the death of Tanya, Jade will have a more opened storyline.
With the idea of Kitana becoming Queen following Sindel's death and Jade becoming the Edenian general, I agree. It would be a shame to see Sindel gone, but I think it would definitely be beneficial for the Mortal Kombat storyline in regards to Edenia.
I just noticed something. Not much is known about Jade. Maybe she is not loyal to Edenia, but in fact still working for Kahn. Before you begin to think I am crazy, just think about it...
Maybe Kahn told Jade to "turn on him" so that she would gain Kitana's trust. He maybe told Jade to tell Kitana this story so that she would accept Jade as an ally. Sending Reptile, a mere pawn in Kahn's schemes, would make the whole story seem less suspicious. She then joined forces with the Earthrealm allies to make herself seem a good guy.
Jade was getting closer to Kitana and Jade and sending more and more information to Kahn as his spy. Then, Tanya allowed Shinnok (not an ally to Kahn) to ruin this. Of course she would hate Tanya for preventing her Emperor's plan from succeeding. She was captured by Shinnok as she was presumed to be an Edenain ally.
"it is unknown for certain what Jade's role was at this time, she was most likely fighting alongside the Edenian forces against what was left of Shao Kahn's armies."
This is only a presumption. Perhaps she was helping Kahn in some way.
Jade did not go to help Kitana, but because that was all she had left. She had heard Kahn was dead and wanted to avenge her Emporer. She came too late and saw Onaga (a known enemy of Shao Kahn) placing them under a spell. She wouldn't interfere because the heroes didn't mean much to her, but she just watched.
When Jade attacked Kitana (something she was waiting to do for a long time) in order to save Sindel, she was only looking out for her own best interests. She had no more Emperor (so she thought) and Edenia was her home. She was thought to be loyal to Sindel and Kitana, so she thought this was her best bet.
Again, she did this because Sindel and Kitana thought of her as an ally and she needed somewhere to remain. Edenia was perfect. She seeks justice on Tanya not because she betrayed Edenia, but because she had helped Shinnok. This reminds her of her dead Emperor.
Personally, I do not want this to happen as I like Jade and don't want her to be traitorous (we have Tanya for that). Comments are appreciated, but not saying that "You are wrong and stupid!" or anything along those lines.
