I love all the noobs in this thread.
I'm slightly miffed that I wasn't asked to do Ermac's story, but whatever. I'll post it tonight when I have some free time.

I would like to see a rivalry between Shang Tsung and Ermac in MKA. Especially if Shang created him, which just seems way to possible.
It would be a short little skirmish though, unless Shang has some nasty tricks up his sleeve...Ermac would CRUSH him into oblivion.

Shao Kahn created Ermac.

Um... if you wanted to do it you could've asked me or Jerrod if you could... and don't post it. We already have one summary of his storyline, we don't need another.

I know that's what it says in MKT,but it's Shang who specializes in soul manipulation (or soul-weaving as I like to call it),so there's a high possiblity he was directly involved. And then Kahn, being the arrogant prick he is,got all the credit.

ermac has always been one of my favorite characters and he is way more powerful then what is let on (look at his MKSM boss fight he has some amazing moves in that game)
i am so sure that ermac is going to suvive MKA his story is just too awesome and it's only really getting started
that story would very cool shang going after him like that would be very interesting

No.
Shao Kahn can do some stuff with souls as well. Remember MK3?
Well,it looked to me like he could only absorb souls, while Shang does that and so much more. Come on,his entire existence is based on the concept of soul-sucking. He practically majored in that shit.
Remember that it was Shang and his Shadow Priests that made it so that Sindel's sprit will someday be reborn on Earth. If Kahn could do something like that on his own,he wouldn't keep the old man around, especially after he blew the tournament. Another example of Shang's skill was the soul transplantation he performed on Onaga's army. It's thus evident that when it comes to delicate and precise operations with spirits,Shang is the man to go. A complex procedure like the fusion of a hundreds of souls into a living entity undoubtedly required his presence.
Whether my hypothesis is correct or not,we can an least assume that Shang knows about the existence of Ermac and knows what he is,which still brings us to the same logical conclusion - Shang trying to hunt Ermac down in MKA.

Yeah, I would say that Shao Khan HAD him created, but Shang Tsung was the one that created him. In any account, I can't wait to play as Ermac.

0
no kidding he is awesome but i think shang tsung might have gave ermac a lot of warrior souls but shao khan probabally found his body maybe or maybe not
0
Oh I didnt know Shang Tsung created him.
I can't wait to play as him, hope he gets a new special move, maybe one is the air, not like a float but where he shoots a projectile in the air, it would go really well with air kombat.
And his new VS pose is bad ass, him holding his axe ready to fight is just plain awesome.

Yeah, it says Shao created him, but we're just discussing possibilities.

OK. Ermac is a character with many possibilities and with much potential for the future. To give a quick summary of MKD, Ermac turned good, kicked ass, and in his ending freed Kitana, Jax, Sonya, Johnny Cage, and Kung Lao from Onaga's control. Anyway, here's what I have in mind:
1- Ermac doesn't do a whole lot in this game but survives and becomes one of the main players in the next-gen of MK.
2- Ermac fights and defeats Ashrah, returns for MK8.
3- Ermac and Nightwolf team up and use their collective power to destroy Blaze. Both survive, Nightwolf retires, Ermac returns for MK8.
4- Ermac, Kenshi, and Sub-Zero fight Noob, Ashrah, and... um... Shang, I suppose (needed an enemy for each one, and these fights do not have to take place in some big battle royal stage, they can be separate but in the same general area). Kenshi dies, Ermac kills Ashrah and Shang, Sub-Zero defeats Noob. Noob flees back to the Netherrealm, all surviving characters return somewhere down the road.
5- Ermac is ambushed by Shang Tsung, but because all of his souls seek vengeance against the sorcerer, Ermac effectively self-destructs, taking out Shang and many others in the blast. However, since the souls are now free, they choose to continue their existence as Ermac. The warrior materializes and fights on.
6- Ermac travels with Liu Kang to meet up with Bo' Rai Cho and the Outworld forces. They are in dire need of help and Ermac agrees to assist BRC, feeling that he still has not done enough to rectify his past evils. Liu Kang then goes alone to fight Shang Tsung. The Outworld forces encounter Tarkatan hordes, many of which Ermac and BRC defeat singlehandedly. Assuming Mileena has already offed Baraka, the hordes are in the midst of a leaderless chaos. They are helplessly slaughtered by the massive Outworld army.
7- Ermac finds himself lost in Outworld when he encounters Kenshi, still searching for Shang Tsung. The warriors agree to travel together once again and hone their telekinetic powers.
8- Ermac's MKD ending never happens and he remains trapped in the Netherrealm (going by what Konquest has to say). Ermac defeats Ashrah but he does not ascend out of hell. Ermac continues to wander when he spots Scorpion battling Drahmin and Moloch. Ermac knows not of any of these fighters, nor their intentions, but he decides to aid Scorpion, knowing that two on one isn't a fair fight. Ermac suspends the two Oni and watches as Scorpion rips them to shreds. Ermac and Scorpion escape the Netherrealm, but wind up in separate places with no memory of the events that just took place. Both return for MK8.
9- Disclaimer: This is the only way I see Ermac not returning:
Ermac comes to terms with the fact that once the man who created him (Shao Kahn) is dead, all of the souls which comprise him are then free to do as they please. Ermac is faced with a difficult choice: Either side with Kahn and live, or kill him and likely die as well. With all of the main baddies out of the way except for Kahn, Ermac confronts him and makes his decision...
Ermac chooses to fight. Kahn proves to be a solid opponent, but even he cannot withstand the thousands of slain Outworld souls that give Ermac his power. Kahn is killed, and Ermac begins to disappear. The allies still alive understand what is happening, and bid him goodbye. He leaves with these final words:
"We are sorry for serving Kahn in the first place. We hope we have helped you enough to forgive us."

mkd:him and liu kang are bringing his friends back alive but shortly after that he senses a terrible evil coming,BLAZE.;
but i still think shao khan created him but shang tsung gave him the souls because tsung still obeyd shao khan but then he meets ashrah wastes the ladie and runs and then he fought in the revenge of shao khan and died or something and then poped up in mk6 a.k.a. mortal kombat deception and then fights for good now or something like that.

I really hope Ermac offs Ashrah. I can't stand her, she's too...bleak. Ermac and Scorpion would be a pretty badass team. But wouldn't Ermac sense the evil in Scorpion? I guess the Oni are more evil though.

With 3 - why would Ermac and Nightwolf team up?
With 4 - Why would the teams be that way? Why would Ashrah team with Noob?
You have a lot of faith in Ermac, huh. There is only ONE way that Ermac could die, and that is if he ends up killing himself lol.
Well... I guess many of your ideas are plausible, but you forgot to include that perhaps Ashrah might kill Ermac mistakenly and all the good she done with her Kriss be forgotten. Or that maybe he is a casualty when everyone is running to some pyramid (hey... I gotta deal with that for Sheeva

The fundamental difference between Ermac and Sheeva is that Ermac has a large fanbase, and Sheeva doesn't. Now I know that Boon and the team aren't ones to necessarily please the fans, but come on. MKA in my view is more of a passing of the torch. You're going to see the "good" fighters like Jade, Ermac, Kung Lao, and Smoke come into their own in this game. Hopefully they all survive, but the chances of ALL four of these guys moving into the next gen is very slim. Now, to assess your "arguments":
3- Ermac and Nightwolf both have supernatural abilities and are working towards the same goal... It makes sense if you really think about it.
4- It doesn't have to be a team setup... They could all just encounter one another. Ermac and Kenshi could already be travelling with Sub-Zero (I say this because of association), and perhaps you could see Shang cutting a deal with Noob as Ashrah looks on. Ashrah, being the idiot that she is, would probably believe that Ermac is the demon (still) and not Noob, so the second she sees Ermac she would join in. Also, we already know that if Ashrah were to kill Ermac that the Kriss would be undone, because he isn't a demon. The Kriss is meant for demon slaying according to the MK storyline.
I have a lot of faith in Ermac... Isn't that what a favorite character is all about? Isn't it about wanting to see the person succeed in his actions? Realistically, none of Ermac's "enemies" (the only one at this point in time being Ashrah, but we'll have to see where MKA goes with this) are near powerful enough to defeat something of his caliber.
I don't see how Ermac can be a casualty in getting to the pyramid because he can use his TK powers to avoid any projectile attack thrown at him by pushing it aside. Since it's most likely just Blaze on that pyramid until eveyrone gets there, Ermac stands a good chance for survival right now.
Whatever... I'm feeling nasty this morning... I think I'm coming down with a cold or something.

Ashrah is good... Why would Ermac kill her just for a scuffle in the past? They should really be on teams, since Ashrah has a high possibility of allying herself with Sub-Zero. So why would Ermac kill someone that could possibly aid them in battle and that is helping one of the Earth warriors?

i agree with legacy. I trust that Ermac is smarter than to kill a possible ally...
But who knows, I don't think Ashrah's a very popular character and Ermac would be a logical choice to kill her. I wouldn't want that to happen tho...

Ashrah is actually one of the best new faces from MKDA/D, she has a lot of potential to go unwasted just because people don't like her look. We don't have any good guy's views from the perspective of the Netherealm and I think it's cool...but that is another story. And I just don't feel like writing right now about Ermac.

Well, if Ashrah still mistakes Ermac for being a demon, I don't see anything stopping him from killing her out of self-defense. ANYWAY, I don't mind Ashrah's look, just that her fatalities were extremely lame IMO and I wasn't a big fan of her story. She's got potential, just give her something new to work with.

Lol, I wasnt trying to bring you down or anything, it is just that I dont want you to be too shocked if he dies. I like Ermac and don't want him to, but I was just saying not to get your hopes up because I know what it feels like to be let down.
But just to defend another fave of mine, Ashrah, I think she is over that thing with Ermac. He is out of the Netherrealm (according to his ending) and she has her mind set on Noob now. And she is powerful btw... she defeated those "sisters" of hers that Quan Chi sent out after her and she slays demons and oni like 24 / 7. But your right, out of Ermac and Ashrah, Ermac has a much larger fanbase.
So yeah... sorry if you thought I was against you or anything, I just didn't want you to be disappointed IF Ermac dies.
I think that Ermac is going to be leading Earth's warriors in this battle against whatever threat Blaze has become. Being the "thing" Ermac is I feel that he's going to be one of the few characters that is going to have an awareness of what is really going on, which would be a good thing since Ermac would share the knowledge he knows with the earth's champions.
as for ashrah's situation with him, i think whatever problem they had in the past, it is going to be squashed. ashrah would probably see this armageddon as an oppurtunity to really atone from being a demon and would perhaps strike a deal with the elder gods that if she helps save all the realms and elder gods she would be turned human. so who knows? ermac and ashrah might be working together in this game.
also, with shang tsung's involvment in ermac's creation i would not be suprised at all. i have a theory on ermac's creation. let's say that ermac was non existent during mortal kombat 1 which till this day i still have no clue if it was canon or not. i don't see any sense in having such a powerful warrior such as ermac be in earthrealm during the tournament and not be involved in it in anyway. if i was a leader like shao kahn i would have a backup plan and have ermac enter the tournament on behalf of outworld to demolish everyone, even goro. my theory on ermac's creation would be that after the events of mortal kombat 2, mileena was killed by kitana, and not only that but kitana was responsible and left the ranks of shao kahn. shao kahn had faced liu kang and it is canon that he got his ass kicked to the point where he sent his armies to chase them out of outworld.
shao kahn would know that earthrealm should not be underestimated and that he will definatley be running into liu kang and all of his chums once again. so i think that would be a primary reason why ermac was created, as a backup plan if liu kang and the rest of the gang got passed the extermination sqads to his throne. shang tsung also failed in killing the earthrealm warriors but he had an insurance policy on reviving sindel and opening an unnoficial portal to earthrealm. as a bonus to ensure being on shao kahn's good side i think he helped create ermac to protect shao kahn while he was invading earthrealm. ermac is such a powerful warrior, and i cannot see how shao kahn would create such a powerful entity without having use of it in some important form. the way the fans talk about ermac, he is a powerhouse and his power is just under shao kahn's if i am correct.
so maybe that is the whole reason ermac was created by shao kahn. just my 2 cents.
ermac's future can be anything. ermac could enter the next generation of mortal kombat or he could not. i could very easily see him be destroyed aswell as see him come out of this in one piece. i admit, during the days of mortal kombat trilogy and ultimate mk3 i hated ermac and rain because i thought of them as such bland characters. when deception came out and i seen his new story and the ties he had in with the characters along with his own original look, ermac seemed pretty cool to me. ermac rescued my all time favorite characters in mortal kombat and i can see him as a part of helping out the earth's warriors for a long time as a part of the team. it's kind of a pity that this would be the last time those characters will be fighting side by side again.
