Kai indeed has much potential. I can see him in the next gen. He's only been in 2 games for crying out loud. Killing him off in Armageddon would be a waste. I would like to get more into his backstory when he was a white lotus member and things like that. He could even possibly replace Lui Kang as the hero of Mortal Kombat...(cause in my opinion...Shujinko(sp?) is way too old). Bottom line...I don't want Kai to go so early. To me...it'd be a waste. What was the point in creating him if you're not gonna use him to his potential? Its like Khameleon all over again....

Like ProudNintendoFan, I too feel indifferent towards Kai. I guess that his return was somewhat needed but sort of unnecessary at the same time. I wonder what they plan on doing with him in this game. I don't know what should become of him.

Kai was one of my favs in MK4. The stripes on his body gave him some originality. His specials were good to. Cant wait to see his play in MKA

kai was great in MK4 the handstand was cool and he had some neat specials and once you get the lightning rod he's actually pretty good

either kung lao or kai survive armageddon (liu kang passes once more) sadly i just can't see midway taking kai over kung lao but one of them has to be around for the next game, he was cool when he had the machete but this new spiked club pisses me off (does he still have moi fah?) they should swap kai and kobra's weapons around

anyway i can see his ending being that he see's shinnok and fujin fighting, and fujin is losing so kai runs up to help him it's a pretty heated battle, but shinnok knocks him back to get some room between them and he summons a skeletal hand which rises up and pierces right threw kai's chest, and kai falls to the ground fujin see's this and attacks shinnok he lifts him into the air with his wind, and throws his weapon into the amulet and shinnok starts glowing green and explodes, afterwards fujin is talking to kai and kai say's he's dieing and that fujin was a good comrade and he wishes fujin luck with his next student

sadly i just don't see kai making it out alive but he'll be back everyone comes back sooner or later

Tanya is the daughter of an Edenian ambassador to new worlds, but she brought a new group of refugees to the realm of Edenia. However, this group turned out to be Quan Chi who allowed the fallen Elder God Shinnok to arrive in Edenia Palace. Tanya gave the impression that she was an innocent victim and was sent to work against the Earthrealm warriors pretending to be an ally for them, but her main task was to lead Liu Kang into a trap, but for some reason she failed...

Years later, Tanya served as the Deadly Alliance's enforcer, though she preferred the term "ambassador". One day, Baraka caught up with her and gave the choice to either serve Onaga or die. Tanya chose to serve Onaga.

Since then, Tanya's been working to find the information that Onaga needs to merge the Kamidogu...

That's her story so far...

Anyway, I don't like Tanya. her story is crap and I really, really don't want to see her in the next-gen... that's all I'll say

I don't like Tanya either, and I hope she dies and never comes back. That's all I really have to say regarding her.

i don't see her making it out of armageddon though unless she pulls a miracle out of her hat

I like Tanya. But her enfd is now. Theres no way she'll survive. She's betrayed her whole realm, Lui kang and his allies, the deadly Alliance by siding with Onaga...she has too many enemies like Shao Kahn. But She's not as strong as Shao Kanh...so this is her swan song....Good bye Tanya. Thank you for being the only sista to represent for us black folks in MK...*tear*...

Tanya

Tanya has only been in two games and has already earned the wrath of Jade and the majority of MK fans. Poor her. Tanya is another one of those characters that has so much untapped potential. What was her relationship with her father like? What is the real reason for Jade hating her? Did they know each other previously? Could Rain become an ally? Perhaps one she won't betray.

Possible paths she may go down in the future:

Tanya Vs Jade:

This rivalry only just started and Jade just killing Tanya doesn't do anything for either of their stories. Plus Jade is too loved for Tanya to come close to killing her..at the moment. If Tanya returns and moves away from the backstabber routine and her rivalry with Jade is fleshed out she might become popular enough to win.

Rain:

Rain and Tanya are Edenians but both have been on the bad side. Tanya has expressed interest in returning to her home world but maybe just the company of an Edenian would satisfy her. She must be very lonely being the traitor. Now Tanya should never be good but a relationship with Rain, a real one and having the two work together for their goals would definitley be interesting and help the two of them as both are pretty unpopular but I love both.

Basically I don't want Tanya to die. I love her and I think she's a great character and definitley one who I think deserves a spot next gen. Maybe not MK8 but somewhere down the line.

Now that I think about it...the one true thing I don't like about Tanya is that she has no backbone. Baraka threatens to kill her if she doesnt serve Onaga...and she goes...WTF? I mean, she can fight just like everyone else...why didn't she just beat Baraka's ass? I'm pretty sure if Baraka threatened Sonya, Jade or someone they would of fought him....But Tanya just agrees. Maybe she knows that she can't beat him and she did the smart thing...but still....show some backbone for crying out loud....

We don't know what happened at that time. Baraka could have appeared out of nowhere since he's quite stealthy (see his ending) and aimed a blade at her heart. We don't know. But in kombat, I can see Tanya defeating Baraka rather easily. Due to her intelligence and sorcery.

Sorcery? Since when has Tanya been a sorceress?

Anyway, to answer King_Of_Edenia's question, Tanya is a survivor. She tries to stay alive by almost any means possible.

The big problem with Tanya that I have is that she's simply the female version of Kano.

I like Tanya and I think she has a lot of untapped potential. I think she's far superior than Kano.

I always thought she should've been pushed as the true mega-bitch of Mortal Kombat. Conniving and evil...for her own amusement and ambition. Unlike say Mileena, who is a somewhat sympathetic character, there is no redeeming value in Tanya. She's an unlikeable bitch and deserves a horrible death....that's why I like her.

Tanya's goal in Armageddon should be to rule Edenia for herself. This will put her in direct conflict with Jade who will be left in charge of Edenia's defence while Kitana & Sindel are off dealing with Shao Kahn.
This would allow an oppurtunity for a history and/or actual rivalry between Jade and Tanya to be developed. I'd like it if their feud was more than just simply loyalist vs. traitor. I addressed this during the Jade discussion...but my idea is they were once friend and during Shinnok's invasion she tried to get Jade to join her, but Jade refused. So Tanya hates Jade because she feels Jade betrayed her by choosing Kitana over her.
Way it should be played is, Jade is a superior fighter...but Tanya is smarter. So Jade's challenge would be making it through the gauntlet Tanya throws at her.

Tanya's ambition for the throne could lead to conflicts with Mileena who is currently controlling Edenia's army. I always liked the idea of Tanya screwing Mileena out of the throne. Perhaps by unmasking her deception and/or allying with Baraka. It'd be interesting because against Tanya, Mileena would become the lesser of two evils...something she's not used to.
Mileena however will probably be more tied to whatever Kitana is doing...which should be taking down Shao Kahn...so the chances of there being a Mileena/Tanya feud seem unlikely. Pity.

Rain could play a role somewhere in here...depending on which side he's on. As some have suggested, he could ally with Tanya and they could form a sort of Bonnie & Clyde duo. Could be interesting. Or maybe he's good and will help Jade. Or good and helping Kitana...which takes him out of the equation.
Hard to say with Rain.

Tanya's demise in this game seems very likely...almost certain...which I think is a shame. One of the ideas I had for making a Jade/Tanya rivalry more interesting it NOT have Jade win all the time. Have Tanya get the upper hand and subject her to all kinds of tortures and unpleasentries.
If done right, it could carried into the next generation and been cool. And if Mileena were to survive...like I think she should...maybe then we could've seen a Mileena/Tanya feud.

Unfortunately, Tanya will most likely get her comeuppence in Armageddon. What a waste.

Hey... come on, while you may not like it, just about the rest of the MK fanbase will.

You know I never thought of a Tanya and Mileena fued. It seems interesting. I also thought about how Tanay and Mileen would join together to tag team Kitana and Jade...then of course in the end Tanya screws Mileena over and takes the power for herself...of course we all know thats theres no way Tanya would win against favorites like Jade, Kitana and Mileena.

Now that I think about it and after reading XiaHouDun's post...I'm starting to like Tanya even more because she is a bitch that everyone wants to beat down....Wouldn't of been some shit If Tanya's ending in Deception came true? Tanya queen over the realms....although its not to late. What if she did get the upperhand in Armageddon? As we all know Tanya is smart and knows how to get around and manipulate things in her favor.

Wouldn't be interesting if she became emperess of Edenia or Outworld and came back as the boss in MK8? I mean, We've never had a female Boss or Sub Boss yet...so it would be original with the whole "Clean Slate" thing thet're supposedly doing for MK8

Well, I kinda like Tanya. She has potential to survive armageddon, but I wouldn't mind her being killed by Jade.

She is probably one of the most hated character in MK, and it just enlarge her potential as a great villian. I mean, everybody is expecting to see her dying in MK and finally pay for her betray to Edenia. But then, in the next generation, everybody find out that not only she survived, but also had achieved some of her objectives (maybe getting some power or even ruling Edenia).

Her rivalry with Jade is another point that I'd like to see more explored in the future. But I wouldn't like to see just a loyal edenian vs. a traitor edenian. I must be given more depth and an interesting relation can go between those two.

If Rain is evil, he can easily be an ally (or even a subordinated) to her. Personally, I prefer to see Rain being good, it's the only way a see him getting a more honorable story. But after armageddon, with Shao Kahn probably destroyed, I don't see him remaining his loyalty to his homeland. If both survive (which I doubt), Rain could act as a double agent, infiltrated in the edenian royalty and working for Tanya.

However, I don't see Tanya surviving. So, I hope that she finds her death at Jade's hands, in a very painful way.

But the thing is tanya isn't scared. She is picking the more promising side. she likes to win, and is crafty. thats why she survied for so long.

I really do hope she survives Armageddon now. I want to see her again. I want to see her as a boss or suboss in the next gen. Tanya is a bad bad bitch and deserves a chance to shine like the true villaness she is. Tanya knows what she's doind. Apparently without her helping, Onaga would have no clue where the crap is he needs to merge the Kamidogu. She could easily outwit the Dragon King. Tanya must live!!!

Reiko was a general during Shinnok's initial invasion of Earthrealm, he was presumed killed, but later returned when Shinnok made his invasion of Edenia. It is also said that he served Shao Kahn at some point...

And that's his storyline... and no... before anyone says so, even though it's been stated a thousand times, Reiko is not Shao Kahn.

Anyway, indifferent about Reiko, but I have a feeling he'll die regardless given Vogel's supposed dislike of him.

well i really can't say much about reiko i didnt play as him much in mk4 and his ending didnt make much sense.

considering he has such a weak storyline i'd say he will probebly go down fighting another minor character such as sareena.

but you never know ed boon does tend to change things...
