I ask for one thing in MKVI. Kabal. He could have a rivalry with Liu Kano... or whenever he's called now that Kano is in Liu...
(I hope I didnt mix my facts up... havent played DA in a while)

1. Mysterious and detailed storyline
2. old school style endings, much like those in MKDA -STRICTLY NO FMV ENDINGS
3. better fatalities than mkda
4. sustainability
5. kano, scorpion, raiden, kung lao, reptile, sub zero, baraka, sektor, nightwolf, kintaro, shang tsung, hsu hao

If theres still only 1 fatality, then when it says finish him/her, if you do a normal move it knocks off the limb it hits for a semi-fatality. destructable environments like in DOA3. SMOKE!

Here are my ideas: Now that MK:DA has made its phenomenal appearance, rebirthing the MK series as we know it, we can all rest assured that there will be another Mortal Kombat game (and in case you haven't heard, the MK Development Team did confirmed this at last month's Fight Night). While no one really knows if this game will be a true sequel, I'd like to think that the next MK game will be a sequel to Deadly Alliance. As such, I thought I'd share my list of "wants" for MK(6). Please let me know what you think, and feel free to share your ideas as well. GAMEPLAY A while back, I shared the idea of making the next Mortal Kombat game a more immersive experience. That is, Konquest Mode would be revamped to allow for a complete training/designing of your particular character. This would be an advance "Create-a-Character", allowing for fighter development with borrowed elements from current Role Playing Games. There is a lot to discuss with this, so I will instead point you to the thread that describes this. See it here: http://www.mk5.org/content/forum/showmessage.cds?name=main&message;=195946 Additionally, I'd like to see the cool new Style Branch remain. I do believe that the MK Team has taken the correct route in giving each character 2 fighting styles, and a weapon. Perhaps to even this out better, however, a few new special moves (teleports, projectiles, etc.) could be added to better round out each character. Also to add to this, a better defense system could be added to counteract many of the powerful offensive maneuvers MK usually offers. Parrying, reversals, quick-side steps, and the ability to dodge when knocked down should be given to all characters. Impaling moves and taunts should be reserved as special moves, as I feel they are an unfair advantage to characters that have them in addition to powerful specials (Sub-Zero having an impale and his ice freeze makes for a pretty weighted fight). ARENAS One thing I was a little bummed out about in MK:DA was that the stages were all very beautiful to look at, but not very fun to fight on. Like Tao Feng, I would like to see characters be able to interact with object in stage and use them tactically (jump off walls, swing on poles, etc.). Furthermore, eliminate the barriers! Allowing characters to walk up hills, down flights of stairs, into dips and holes, etc. would make fighting very interesting. Of course, this opens way for realistic body damage (hitting a leg will weaken kicks, etc.) Very complex, but very interesting. And just because I can throw this in: I'd love to see a stage like Scorpion's Lair from the MK Movie! STORY Much like the Lord of the Rings movies, I do believe MK:DA intentionally left storylines unfinished. I do hope that this was done to allow for storyline continuation in a sequel. Realistically, I would opt for an MK1 prequel (how did Goro achieve 9 MK victories, how did Shang come to power, who is the original Kung Lao?). However, I do believe the team will decide to continue with the MK:DA Dragon King storyline, which is also a very good thing. Ideally, Reptile would not be the Dragon King. In my opinion, this is a little bit cheesy and lacks imagination. I would much rather see one member of the Deadly Alliance (preferably Shang Tsung) survive defeat and continue to resurrect the Dragon King army, finishing with the Dragon King himself. Of course, this would be the final boss. Shang Tsung, being the Soul Stealing fiend that he is, would then slay the King, and use his soul to enable Shang to return to his true Demon form (mentioned in MK1, never yet seen). I am not sure where this would end up going, but I think some pretty cool things could happen. To be continued ... ? |

Struggle moves.
Like for when you do a reversal, and you counter the reversal. Both characters can be stuck in a strenuous pose, like in a match of strength, "Remember Samurai Showdown" Depending on who is winning.
One of the characters would be thrown, slammed, stumble back, or they would go in to a different pose. if it's a tie, they would just break up.
Almost like throw chains and reversals going back and forth.
The camera could zoom in to their faces and hands when they are doing the match of strength.
It could be done like the Test your might, just tap the buttons fast. You could also do special combinations to try and win the match, like a change up move, so it isn't just pressing the buttons fast.

Overall:
Overal setting, back on the island to get a nostalgic MK1 feel with a lot of Japanese/ Chinese influence. In Visual and Sound.
Visual:
Earlier MK1 backgrounds only visually damaged through time and battles.
Sound:
Original MK1 theme remixed (game NOT movie)
And more japanese/Chinese influences (mixed with Rap/Rock/Techno)
Intro's and ending:
movie wise prefer 2endings a character based on a choice wtithin the game) No pictures!!!
Character select screen:
Divided in the Outworld (left) and earth (right) and Neutral (below)warriors.
Ingame (storymode)
When a character is chosen, it will follow a certain path throughout the game, this path will bring a earth warrior against all Outworld fighters (or betrayers).
In reallife earth/Outworld warriors would fight eachother but not Kill eachother.
each character interacts with their opponent in storymode, and I do mean EACH OPPONENT. not just the first or the last! A little conversation or a small fight before the true battle begins, so you see what their fight is all about and you get more background info on characters.
If you battle a friend/allie in the game, there should be a choice wich will result in different endings. Give a friendship (All non fatality's are friendship)or a fatality, results in ending 1 or 2. (Or fatal 1 or 2)
The last Boss/Endboss
The EndBoss will be either the last or SubBoss, depends on the characters story.
Example:
Lets say you play Scorpion and you fought through the game, he will eventually encounter Shao Kahn. When you beat Shao Kahn Quan Chi/Subzero appears and you are in for the REAL last battle. After that you watch the ending.
that's about it
The rest has been said to much
(Damged clothes adn backgrounds, hidden weapons stuff like that.)
And keep the story to it's roots plz.
Since Mortal kombat 2 we haven't had a legit tournament. hence the bring it back to the island.
please discuss my ideas for improvements (NO FLAMIN)

I just wish that Secert charecters and bosses have Fatalities. I was mad that Molach and Blaze didn't have a Fatality.
Also, you should perform Fatalities on everybody(i.e Molach, Goro etc.)
Also, you should perform Fatalities on everybody(i.e Molach, Goro etc.)
If you were mad because secret characters and bosses don't have fatalities in MKDa than you missed point of this game. I hope they'll keep only 1 fatality per character and add one or two stage pit. More important is actual gameplay and fighting system.
0
Gameplay is important, but since the option to finish off your opponent is there, one should have the option of choosing which fatality to do on a character. Fatalities are still part of the game, and all characters should have at least one to be able to perform, even if it's only a stage-based fatality.

Man Fatalities are what make Mortal Kombat really different from the other fighting games. I liked MKDA's fighting engine, but they lost some of the MK formula. Now I don't mind losing the fighting styles of MK1-4, characters, BUT FATALITIES? Oh no, they can never let that go as that is one of the most intergral MK things, and I felt they didn't care for them in MKDA. Yes bring back the stage fatalites, bring back 2 fatalities per person, and Boon have some balls on the fatals. You sure did during MK2. I mean look at the level of GTA, it sells like hotcakes. Some realistic fatals won't hurt you (they will help you).
About Me
Anything war can do, peace can do better.

that both gameplay and fatalities are important. In fact other thingss are important too. Since there is a good fighting engine to build off they can focus more on things like fatalities, story, graphics, audio, etc. without effecting gameplay too much.

i would like to see a game like mk trilogy remade with the new graphics and fighting styles. no real plot line just all the charectors. now as far as a story line game i would like to see a prequil to the orginal. with goro and human smoke, sektor and cyrax.

I grew up playing Mortal Kombat since the first one when I was 11 years old and was very genius. I have embarrassed plenty of adults after they get their ass whooped by a 11 years old kid and when MK2 came out, it was ripping shit up and I'm very impressived for what Ed Boon has done to it but MK3, it kinda got cheesy, weakass non-realistic fatalities but got some nice combos, then going on with Ulimate and Trilogy, it getting sucks and I starting to stop playing it until MK4 came out, it has begun kicking some ass and started playing it again.. They got really awesome fatalities, (The Stage Fan Fatality is very awesome and best of all stage fatalities in all MK games)and nice characters. Reiko was my best favorite character because he is very strong and fast! Why would Boon do the such a horrible to remove good character 'Reiko" from MKDA
..... Then now, MKDA came out. I was stoked with the fighting styles but starting to piss off when I realize that each character has one fatality and no stage fatality which it kinda turn me off. Plus, they kinda got shitty fatality in it like Quan Chi streching the neck is lamest fatality I have ever seen. Probably Ed Boon is getting old and forgot how to make some kick ass fatality so, why don't we help him by suggesting him what to make fatalities? Would be nice if Boon takes suggestions from people what he should do with the next MK.
The fatalities were fine in concept (although there could have been more), but the ones that concluded with the opponent's body exploding could have been a bit better. I don't know what exactly those marble looking things were supposed to be, but they sure as hell didn't look like internal organs. Some realistic, well designed intestines, a heart, a liver, a couple of kidneys, a few limbs etc., would greatly improve the game.
MK:DA was a damn good game. Not too much should change in MK6 except for the obvious.
New Characters: Reptile + Dragon King
New Ninja(Earth or Sky) Not just a pallet swap like in the old days. Make them women or men. Doesn't matter.
Possibly a primate based character. Almost like a Gorilla, but more human-like.
Kintaro coming back sure would be interesting.
Fatalities: Make them look realistic. Let's face it, people buy Mortal Kombat for that purpose. Before people know what kind of gameplay system it has, they think of the blood and gore. Slit a throat. Break a neck. Maybe a simple slice across the abdomen and let the guts spill out. That would be interesting.
Gameplay: Keep the gameplay mostly the same. I do like the idea for a different fatality with each stance, but that may be a lil too much. Stage fatalities should come back. At least 2 of them. A way to save your characters progress, possibly earning fatalities or more special moves via The Krypt or some kind of competition or story mode.
I can wait for it to come out. I just hope that they completely finish the game. Go all out guys. Us MK faithful will wait for you to finish the game.

What I want:
MK2 style ratings that rate how you fought during the match.
Fatality ring-outs. The ring can have barriers during the first or second match, but during the final match, the barriers dissapear and there's some sort of hazard outside the ring.

I agree with the original post of M4C. I had the same idea even before MKDA was out. I expected it to be that way, like an RPG in some points. The fact is that I found the profile option of mkda useless at all. The idea of making an RPG-like fighting game, is NOT ONLY A GOOD IDEA, but the true evolution of the genre! If only the MKTeam were the first to make it, the MK saga wouldn ́t be down again like it has been. We have signs of this change in VF4 for example. You can get your own clothes an accesories to build up your own character. I not talking only of making a character from zero, like M4C said. It could begin selecting one of the standard chars, like Cage for example. You could certainly change his name or put a ringname instead, like VF4, and select two fighting styles and a weapon style from a basic list .He should have a basic clothing like the shorts from MK1 (lol!), and some basic moves. Then, as you earn experience and koins in a Konquest mode, you can learn more special moves and buy more clothing to make the char yours. Even more. There should be special items that would give you more hit power or more life, etc. Imagine yourselve holding the Raiden ́s staff of inmortality. I would like even to see the same as in MK4: you could steal the weapon from your enemy, and use it against him. And for example, there could be magic weapons that couldn ́t be stolen... Imagine a Diablo2 char sheet but in an MK game. Tons of special items to make your char unique, and even trading or winning them online! It would be a neverending game! Of course, I ́m not talking about the whole game being like this. There should be an arcade mode in which you could use your character to gain experience, like in VF4. I don ́t think this is a crazy idea. Well, I could talk of my ideas for ages, but lets leave it here.
For the storyline, I wish my theories are right and The Dragon King would be Jerrod! That would be great, and a twist in the storyline. Would Kitana join his father, once a good king, but now tainted with evil and thirsty for vengeance against Kahn, for murdering him before he could reach inmortality? And what about Sindel? Would Reiko join Kahn again? I think this could be a great plot!
Again M4C, if you wish to talk about our ideas, contact me!

Each having 5 fatalities (yes 5) Plot twists: Sub-Zero becomes the new Mortal Kombat champion The extinction of the Shokan The rise of the dragon king The death of Jade (Kitana's reason for revenge) The resurrection of Scorpion The third Oni More plot developement for Noob Saibot

The more characters, the longer we play the game. I think they should concentrate on making more characters rather than actual gameplay.
Besides, a minimal thousand coffins would be nice. That should keep the mk fans very very busy for a long while.

Speaking of coffins, if they bring back the krypt, they should put only stuff that really is MK related. I was pretty happy with the contents of most of the coffins, and most of the stuff like Jax's "Chrome Bling" were very funny, but I was kind of disappointed to see "Adult Size Diapers" and "Can of Squid".

ok, i guess it'd be better to post my wish list here after all, at least it'd stay on top at all times this way. so w/o further adue here is what i want in MK6:
1. real final boss who is a NON-playable character. the final boss should be VERY hard to beat on any difficulty setting. he/she should be very big in size, should look very menacing, should have some very cool looking and very damaging moves/combos and when defeated should vanquish in some spectacular fasion (something like Shang Tsung in MK) and oh yeah, did i mention, make him/her a NON-playable character.
2. one fatality per character plus stage fatalities. come up with some INNOVATIVE (no old fatalities please) and creative fatalities (CYRAX's fatality in MKDA was pretty cool).
3. have FMVs for endings.
4. put it on one console only. that way no time and effort that would be wasted on porting for multiple consoles. i would suggest XBox as it is the most powerful of all 3 consoles and has good online capabilities, although i do realize if profitability is to be assured it should probably be on PS2.
5. keep the Konquest mode, but make it more diverse, i.e. not just "do this move", "do this combo", "defeat yourself 3 out of 5" for every character. be a little more creative as to the amount of actions performed in each characters Konquest. for example, instead of hitting an opponent, one could practice with a punching bag of sorts, or that thing they use in martial arts training (i don't know what exactly it's called, it's this wooden thingy with sticks coming out of it for legs and hands), or breaking bricks or something.
6. keep and expand the Krypt mode, that was cool. maybe that's asking too much, but including a playable version of MK1 or MK2 would rule. of course those should be very, very hard to unlock.
7. more single player modes. something like Tekken's Tekken Force mode or VF4:Evolution's Quest mode comes to mind. include elements of martal arts training in the single playes mode/s, i.e. running, jumping, endurance exercises, getting higher and higher degrees of skill (something like red belt, black belt, etc., whatever the degree is called for the respective martial art). that last thing could beautifully tie in with my next idea, i.e. characters should NOT be able to perform all of the moves in their arsenal from the beginning of the game, as they progress in their mastery of their respective martial art they should be acquiring new moves and combos. that way there will be an incentive for gamers to keep playing so they can learn new moves with their favorite character.
8. keep the gameplay with the 3 martial arts per character, i loved it, but give them new moves, although not all moves should be available from the beginning (look 7 above).
9. for the online mode, do something like player rankings with wins/loses ratio and percentage, player skills charts, etc. just go crazy on the stats, gamers will in turn go crazy in trying to improve their stats so that they are better than the rest of the gamers out there. that would bring in an immense replay value.
10. put Raiden in.
11. see 10.
1. real final boss who is a NON-playable character. the final boss should be VERY hard to beat on any difficulty setting. he/she should be very big in size, should look very menacing, should have some very cool looking and very damaging moves/combos and when defeated should vanquish in some spectacular fasion (something like Shang Tsung in MK) and oh yeah, did i mention, make him/her a NON-playable character.
2. one fatality per character plus stage fatalities. come up with some INNOVATIVE (no old fatalities please) and creative fatalities (CYRAX's fatality in MKDA was pretty cool).
3. have FMVs for endings.
4. put it on one console only. that way no time and effort that would be wasted on porting for multiple consoles. i would suggest XBox as it is the most powerful of all 3 consoles and has good online capabilities, although i do realize if profitability is to be assured it should probably be on PS2.
