The idea of good fighting an evil boss, and an evil character fighting a good boss is cool, but that should be in a story mode, like in DOA3, or Tekken4.
Maybe instead of having an Arcade mode, just have Story mode, like in DOA3.
Then have the extra modes.
Time attack
survival
etc.

Reading most of the posts on this thread, I think we have come up with the mother of all fighting games. Now if midway would only make it.

i tottally agree with you dude, i hope ed boon reads all of these!! since this is the "official" MK6 Wishlist Thread!
here is an idea for shang tsung to get his morph back.
i know ed said they cant give a character all the styles and my idea caters for that.
shangs three styles are snake, crane and straight sword - and they never change throughout his morphing. when he morphs to sub zero his own specials would go and be replaced by subs specials - however, he would not have all of the original characters moves (because he is just an image of them and havent fully mastered the specials like the originals). so shangs sub zero would only have the original ice freeze and maybe a high punch and high kick attack from the dragon or shotokan style which could add to or break up the snake/crane combos.
so in effect, shang morphs to a character that isnt quite as equipped as the original, but has those couple of extra attacks that can improve a combo.
and you get to see all the characters fight in snake and crane!
heres a potential list of the special moves shang could do if morphed to that character:
quan chi: green skull
subzero: normal freeze
scorpion: rope spear
Kano: roll
li mei: the 2 kicks
you get the idea...

idea on the subset games:
since raiden is traditionally the overseer and knows all characters good and bad i thought it would be good for him to be an adjudicator in the subset games. it would be fun to see raidens arm go down to start off the countdown and look like a coach or something. if you failed to break a test your might item, raiden would shake his head and break it for you. On two player mode if both of you didnt break it he would stand in the middle and simultaneously break them both with each hand.
raiden would also be selected as a hidden character.
i thought this would be cool because some people were getting a little tired of his repetitve storyline.
on the subject of subset games...
i once thought of an idea about subzeros spine rip that would be better as a subset game. you would have to perform numerous button combinations (nothing extensive) to skillfully rip out a complete spine.
levels would differ from the complete skeleton to just the spine.
but the idea trully comes from the reaction of the victim. if you were to rip out only the spine the victim would actually turn around, point to you and laugh (with blood comming out of the gaping hole in the back)
if you were to rip out the complete spine the victim would feel happy for you for mastering the game and applaud you (before falling into a heap moments later)
i think having the victim react in that way would just reinforce the fact that the game IS make-believe (even with realistic effects) thus helping us to fight the censorship ratings board
i just found the heckling crowds and the broken arms on mkdas subset games to be hillarious.

More fatalities, and bring back the stage fatalities because those kicked ass. Also, there should be FMV's for each character when they finish the game like in MK Gold.

There could be hit counters. Like if you get hit, your hit animation can link to an attack.
For example the fight scene with Liu kang VS Sub Zero in the MK1 movie.
Liu kang kicked Sub in the chest, and while sub Zero was falling back, he did a back flip, and nailed Liu kang right in the Jaw.
Now an example from MKDA. Lets say Scorpion does his (1) punch in Hapkido and hits Sonya. The second the move connects, the Sonya player would tap the same button= (1) and she would do something like a back hook kick, and stay standing.
It would work the same as the throw escapes in Tekken4.
This is especially useful if you know how your opponents combo ends.
It would also be a great way to get out of those unbreakable combos.
Using this same technique, some of the moves could work like rock, paper, scissors. If you press a certain attack when your opponent does some other specific attack you would be able to counter them, and break combos.

A mini game, could be the dummy trunk with the sticks coming out of it.
This thing.
The camera would be over your shoulder, and to the side, so you can see the characters hand hitting the poles.
Then you would see buttons appear on screen, Like if any of you saw the mini game in shenmu where you had to press the right buttons to play the game, it was like a memory game.
The screen would have the buttons scrolling from the bottom of the screen to the top, like the new dancing arcade games that came out not too long ago.
It would be like
Scrolling up
You see this.
1 <<<< Attack button names
2
4
1
3
4
And so on, you would have to keep up with how fast the numbers are scrolling in order to win the mini game.
There could be 4 speed levels, like in Test your sight.
The Pole would be spinning, so if you press the wrong button, the stick would hit you.
There could be up to 4 of these Training trunks in the stage, and your character would use all of them at once. As long as you press the correct buttons, and do it fast enough.
Then maybe, you could save the replay, and watch it without concentrating on the buttons. There could be cool extra things like you could break some of the poles, or like in the movies, you have a super grip, and you grab one of the poles, and rip a chunk of it with your bare hand. Like that would be cool to see on a character that uses Eagles claw (Kitana).
I think this would be an awesome mini game.

Most of the graphics are crisp, clear and good, but some of the pictures and and close-ups of characters don't look as real as I think they should. Sonya is a very good example. Her head looks like it was pasted to her body, and not real at all. Is the technology there to make them look as real in 3D as they did in 2D. MK2 to be specific.
Also, when you win a match, they should have better signature moves to show off if you choose not to FINISH EM. Raiden's raised hands with the lightening flash coming down is a good example or mileena's twirling of her two little swords.
Some of the characters don't look like they are ready for battle or don't look like they're ready to destroy someone. Good example, Raiden's picture looks like it says I'm too old for this but I guess I'll show'em I still have it. His photo in part 2 of the MK series said I'm untouchable.
Overall, MK5 is the best fighting game to date of any. I look foward to being able to stylishly kick ass and talk trash in MK6 like I do now with characters like JAX. NOW THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT!

| Mobster4Christ Wrote: Hey all, what we have here is the "Official" MK6 wish list. This thread will always be stuck on top of those page, so that we as the Mortal Kombat Community may have one consolidated reference for our hopes and idea for Mortal Kombat (6). By no means are you limited to posting your new ideas and wishes in only this thread, but this one will stay on top for a quick reference. Here are my ideas: Now that MK:DA has made its phenomenal appearance, rebirthing the MK series as we know it, we can all rest assured that there will be another Mortal Kombat game (and in case you haven't heard, the MK Development Team did confirmed this at last month's Fight Night). While no one really knows if this game will be a true sequel, I'd like to think that the next MK game will be a sequel to Deadly Alliance. As such, I thought I'd share my list of "wants" for MK(6). Please let me know what you think, and feel free to share your ideas as well. GAMEPLAY A while back, I shared the idea of making the next Mortal Kombat game a more immersive experience. That is, Konquest Mode would be revamped to allow for a complete training/designing of your particular character. This would be an advance "Create-a-Character", allowing for fighter development with borrowed elements from current Role Playing Games. There is a lot to discuss with this, so I will instead point you to the thread that describes this. See it here: http://www.mk5.org/content/forum/showmessage.cds?name=main&message;=195946 Additionally, I'd like to see the cool new Style Branch remain. I do believe that the MK Team has taken the correct route in giving each character 2 fighting styles, and a weapon. Perhaps to even this out better, however, a few new special moves (teleports, projectiles, etc.) could be added to better round out each character. Also to add to this, a better defense system could be added to counteract many of the powerful offensive maneuvers MK usually offers. Parrying, reversals, quick-side steps, and the ability to dodge when knocked down should be given to all characters. Impaling moves and taunts should be reserved as special moves, as I feel they are an unfair advantage to characters that have them in addition to powerful specials (Sub-Zero having an impale and his ice freeze makes for a pretty weighted fight). ARENAS One thing I was a little bummed out about in MK:DA was that the stages were all very beautiful to look at, but not very fun to fight on. Like Tao Feng, I would like to see characters be able to interact with object in stage and use them tactically (jump off walls, swing on poles, etc.). Furthermore, eliminate the barriers! Allowing characters to walk up hills, down flights of stairs, into dips and holes, etc. would make fighting very interesting. Of course, this opens way for realistic body damage (hitting a leg will weaken kicks, etc.) Very complex, but very interesting. And just because I can throw this in: I'd love to see a stage like Scorpion's Lair from the MK Movie! STORY Much like the Lord of the Rings movies, I do believe MK:DA intentionally left storylines unfinished. I do hope that this was done to allow for storyline continuation in a sequel. Realistically, I would opt for an MK1 prequel (how did Goro achieve 9 MK victories, how did Shang come to power, who is the original Kung Lao?). However, I do believe the team will decide to continue with the MK:DA Dragon King storyline, which is also a very good thing. Ideally, Reptile would not be the Dragon King. In my opinion, this is a little bit cheesy and lacks imagination. I would much rather see one member of the Deadly Alliance (preferably Shang Tsung) survive defeat and continue to resurrect the Dragon King army, finishing with the Dragon King himself. Of course, this would be the final boss. Shang Tsung, being the Soul Stealing fiend that he is, would then slay the King, and use his soul to enable Shang to return to his true Demon form (mentioned in MK1, never yet seen). I am not sure where this would end up going, but I think some pretty cool things could happen. To be continued ... ? |

Liu Kang Has a sister. One word... Revenge.

I think that they need to take out the whole 2 fighting styles and a weapon thing. One fighting style per character would be fine if they elaborate more on them. Someone already mentioned that the moves in each style were limited. I think it would be a good idea to have one style per character with lots more moves and better flowing combos.
Also, more costumes and colors to unlock add much to replay value. Characters are less boring when you have more appearance options. Not hard to do, and yet adds much to the game.

*Don't make MK6 too complicated, i really don't want to see any DOA, Tekken or VF bullshit in MK. That's why i prefer MK above those other fight games in the first place, it's easier and more fun to play! I like the figthing in MK:DA, just tune the engine a bit, but don't change TOO much!
*I want to see a lot of blood, stage fatalities and 2 fatalities. Some fatalities are really lame in MD:DA (like a lot of people mentioned before). Seeing damage on their arms and clothes would be really rad! Blood sticking on swords, stains on clothes, etc.
*Also, get rid of that stupid "force field" around the arena's! I'd love to see people getting smashed through walls, through windows, off stairs, etc. I can only dream to walk around freely in the MD:DA arenas!
*The Krypt should be in MK6 too, except less bullshit coffins in it, i really like how they came up with the coins and everything.
*Keep it dark and evil, no kiddo bullshit. Just think of the fatality Quan Chi had in MK4 where he ripped of the leg and beat his opponent to dead with it, i want to see really brutal fatalities!!! Like Scorpion's fatality in MK2 where he cut his opponent's throat and then cut him in half, or Kung Loa when he sliced his opponent in half, Jax ripping off arms.. stuff like that!
*No more robot fighters, i hate them!
*I'm glad Lui Kang is dead, i just hope he stays out of MK6!
*Some characters i'd love to see back:
Shang Tsung, Scorpion, Sub Zero, Drahmin, Nitara, Sonya, Raiden, Baraka, Kitana, Jax, Quan Chi, (classic) Reptile...
*definately not: robot fighters, lui kang, mileena, jade, nightwolf, noob saibot, smoke, rain and crappy characters like that...
*secrets secrets secrets, i just love it when a game's stuffed with secret characters, secret fatalities (remember Shang Tsung "kintaro" fatality in MK2?), etc...
*FMV endings.
*NO tag team bullshit, that just wouldn't be MK!
*Stage fatalities: i mentioned this before and i'll mention it again! Those arenas in MD:DA would've been SO perfect for stage fatalities.
...that's about all i can think of for now.

hey guyz,
ive posted up so many things in this topic, here i am again...
well today i watched 'crouching tiger, hidden dragon' and those fighting scenes were just incredible! the next mortal kombat needs fast action just like that!
when players are blocking, they should be able to move their hands freely around, and when they are blocking they shouldnt be sliding backwards like in MKDA, they should take quick steps backwards which would make the game look more faster...
when theres lower feet, kick attacks they should be blocked with their feet :)
off wall attacks should be in the game. omg theres so many different weapons in crouching tiger hidden dragon, they could use some of them weapons, theres too many swords in the game... the only characters with swords shouldve been; scorpion, kung lao and shang tsung...
the games AI MUST BE IMPROVED! when im playing on 'max' difficulty, when my oponent ends blocking my combo the first thing it does is 'attack' therefor i just do a reversal :) how simple is that? thats very cheap guyz...
in the next game; instead of babealities, animalities and brutalities there should be something else like;
u touch the oponents pressure points on their boddy just like in kungfu movies and make their blood circulation stop, and they die... just like in kiss of the dragon... but there should be different ones done :)
the arena's are all isolated from other places, thats good but their should be some arenas like the 'subway' which was in mk3... and a train can go past every now and then :)
in mkda when i try to impale my sword into my oponent, even when the tip of the sword reaches, somehow the whole thing goes in... it doesnt make sense...
there shouldve been a harder level where the difficulty starts from %100 from the very first fighter all the way to the end. and when its on harder difficulty there should be more fights, its always 10, when its on a harder level there should be 2 extra or watever...

First of all, I must thank M4C for making this. I will first post the first half of my ideas for the game and then I will post the second half of my ideas and then the storylines along with the list of characters, etc.
Gameplay: I would like to have the MK team put a lot into this area the most for their next MK game. I really like the fact that they've incorporated martial arts fighting styles into the MK games, but I felt that some of the fighting styles didn't suit some of the characters. Another thing is that some have been complaining that some of the fighting styles in the game weren't accurately portrayed. If that is the case, then for the next MK game, they should give the right fighting styles to each character and they should try to accurately portray them as much as possible. It would be cool if you could combine attacks from 1 hand to hand fighting style with the other. I must thank the MK team for putting different attack buttons instead of High and Low Punch along with High and Low Kick. I would like to see the characters combine the different attack buttons with or without the direction in order to perform many different moves. In the older MK games, there were also different moves when your character was right next to your opponent. For example, pressing either of the kick buttons when being close to your opponent would usually perform a knee jab. They could do the same with the different attack buttons (forgot to mention the special attack button depending on what it does) but put more than one different close up move. It would be cool if you could combine a direction and 2, 3, 4, or all 5 different attack buttons to perform many different kinds of moves along with the other fighting styles. This would add tons of depth to the actual fighting. I also hope that you can take out weapons if you are impaled. Perhaps also create-a-player and online play would be nice as well (as long as there are no fees attached). As for mini-games, I would like for them to bring the two back from MK:DA and add the ones from the old MK games along with some new ones as well. They should also bring back that whole ending concept from MKT. What I mean is that when you beat MKT, you can choose your prize. I would love to see this in the next MK game and future MK games. And there could be more prizes of that kind revealed later on.

Ok, I'm back for more!
This time, it will be the second half of my ideas for the gameplay.
It would be cool if most or all characters could transform into their animality forms during fights. There should be a meter of course. Kind of like the way the agressor meter worked except in reverse. The more your character is damaged, the more the meter increases. There should be more than one meter for each character for stuff like Neijin, Taunt, and other moves. Of course, the characters should slowly recover and maybe some characters' special moves might involve taking a bit of the opponent's health. And when you play the 1 player mode, they should bring back the "Choose Your Destiny" thing but in more unique ways. For example, it should have that whole rotating thing like in MK4, but there should also be the aspect that when you climb up the ladder, the blocks would rotate ramdomly and at different speeds and different number of blocks at different times when going up the ladder. There should also be the return of Endurance Matches. There should be different numbers of fighters for each Endurance match. I would love to see other surprises in that field as well. Now on to the Krypt and secrets.
I hope that the Krypt will be in many sets of unlockables. Let's say you unlock everything in the first Krypt, then you will go through a challenge. If you win that challenge, then the second set of the Krypt will be revealed. After unlocking that one, you will get two challenges and they will be harder. Then it will be 3, 4, and 5. There should be 5 sets of 100 koffins in each Krypt. In addition to completing each set of Krypts, you can obtain another character, so I guess that would make 5. (I suppose I will talk about the characters now and maybe later....) There should be 10 start up characters and 2 unlockable ones in each Krypt set. However, the 5 characters that are obtained from completing each Krypt set will add to the total making it 25....so far....
Note: you will obtain the character before doing the challenge(s).
Also in the Krypt (and this is in rare occasions..) a "secret" character (or more
)will lurk behind koffins and if you can get to where they are (and it will be difficult because they will try to evade you) then you will fight him/her. If you win, then you can get them. Perhaps at least 5 of them would do. Maybe there should be a special secret (not a character) when you complete the Krypt.
As for the Krypt content, it should get better with each Krypt set. Hopefully, there won't be many or any empty koffins. I would love to see more videos like "Cooking with Scorpion". Hopefully other surprises will come here also.........My mind is blank for now and I will post more later.

Also in the Krypt (and this is in rare occasions..) a "secret" character (or more
As for the Krypt content, it should get better with each Krypt set. Hopefully, there won't be many or any empty koffins. I would love to see more videos like "Cooking with Scorpion". Hopefully other surprises will come here also.........My mind is blank for now and I will post more later.

1.Let's say 1 fatality for each fighting style.
2.Return of Smoke(human and cyborg as in MK:Trilogy),Baraka,Rain and Sektor.
3.Weapons from steel in sheaths, not thin air.
4.No barriers.I hate them.
5.If Blaze and Mokap are back, give them some unique fatalities.
6.Bring back Kombat Kodes.
7.Clothes ripping is good.Especially if you're fighting Kitana or Nitara...
8.Make Moloch playable or else don't put him in the game at all.
9.Heads no longer turn into the generic bloody skulls when they are severed.
10.Endings = FMVs!If not FMVs,then at least make a cutscene like in Tekken Tag Tournament.
That's all I wish for....Happy Killing.

Now I will discuss about the Konquest mode. Maybe 10 missions per character will be good enough. My idea for the Konquest mission will be quite interesting for some of you. Let's say for example, you choose Rayden, the Konquest missions will start from the first MK game that he was in (MK1) and then his missions will go through some sort of a timeline. (this will have to be accurate story info as well) This will up to the time of MK6. (perhaps certain characters will have more missions than other characters, but 300 should be enough) (and I'm just thinking and typing as I progress with my ideas)
There should be at least 2 fatalities per character and maybe secret fatalities for some characters. They should bring back Brutalities without the exploding thing (perhaps it will connect into more of a fatality) If Friendships were to come back, they will have to be well done, but I don't personally like the idea of putting them in there because I want MK to be more serious. Pit/Stage fatalities would be nice as well.
I see that some of you want there to be some sort of talking thing before fights like in DOA3, Tekken 4, and Virtua Fighter 4. I don't like this idea for MK for a couple of reasons. My first reason is that it's a waste of time and is not necessary. And my second reason is that it would be copying off the other fighting games. MK needs to be it's on thing and at the same time needs to be MK like the old MK (in terms of the atmosphere). Instead of the talking thing, it should have more of the MK4 bowing thing.

Now that I'm done with the Gameplay (for now I guess) I will discuss graphics, endings and other stuff.
I must say that the graphics in MKDA are great, but not the best. Maybe more realistic (and hyper-realistic) effects would be nice. Hopefully, everything will be smooth, crisp, and well detailed. But with great graphics, it could bring a frame rate problem. I hope that there will good graphics that can run on a great frame rate. Also, the animations should be improved (falling down, getting hit in the back, getting up, etc.). Visible facial and body damage would be nice as well with realisitic looking blood.(Also another thing for the gameplay..sorry about this: more special moves per character)....
As for the endings, I have complex but interesting ideas for this part of the game. Beating the game on the easier levels will allow you to see parts of the "what if" ending and parts of the "actual" ending in text with pics form. This could be a real tease for players until they beat the game on harder, more difficult levels. (note: the difficulty levels combined with the choose your destiny difficulty will determine the level you beat the game with.) Beating the game on the harder difficulty levels will allow players to see the endings in FMV cinematic form. Beating the game on the hardest difficulty will show you the actual ending (completely). Beating it on the second hardest difficulty will allow you to see the complete "what if" ending in cinematic form. (I'm not sure at the moment about all the combonations of difficulty)
As for the sound, there should be a set of sounds for each character. There shouldn't be a set of sounds for the males and a set of sounds for the females and I want it to be diverse and accurate to the character as possible. Hopefully, there will be different footstep sounds and hitting sounds as well. Let's hope that the music will stick to the MK1/MK2 vibe.

For extra stuff that I didn't mention before about the game aspects, here they are. After this, then I will talk about the storyline in the next post.
I would like there to be interactive environments and no barriers in the next MK game so that there can be freedom of movement. I would also like projectiles to make special effects. For example, if two characters shoot out fireballs to each other and if the fireballs are coming towards each other, they should collide and explode. Also, if one person shoots out a fireball at their opponent and misses, it should actually hit something and make an effect like the objects being on fire and explosions, etc. Sub-Zero's freeze could freeze things. Some of the sword type weapons and Kung Lao's hat throw can probably slice through things. Hopefully, at least parts of the clothing can be destroyed. (Clothes being burned by fireballs, etc.) And let's also hope that Sub-Zero's freezing effects will be better (when the frozen opponent recovers the ice should slowly crack.) And also when the opponent is frozen and Sub-Zero hits him/her, ice should burst out and it shouldn't disappear. Blood shouldn't disappear also. That could be on the floor, clothing, walls, etc. i would also like environmental effects on some of the Kombat Zones as well. (lava, acid, spikes, ice, sand, etc.) Also the blocking system should be more advanced and I will go with M4C's ideas with the create a player.
Now that I'm done with the body of the game, I will now discuss about the heart and soul of Mortal Kombat: the storylines and the characters
This is something that some of the other fighting series lack in. (that is if they do a storyline for that particular series)

Well, here's my ancient collecter's item two cent coin... erm.... yes:
GAMEPLAY
I think the gameplay should take advantage of the new systems. Have lots more characters!
But seriously, I think that in MK6 we should have special moves a little bit harder, but not as hard as in MK4...
ARENAS
INTERACTIVE! Come on Midway, you can do better!
Anyway, we should've been able to go into water at the Lung Hai temple...
FATALITY
I got this idea, we should have about 10 fatalities per character, and only one button combination. you figure out the rest!
ALITIES
I can imagine another babilty, with cool graphics.
DUN DUN DUN.... BABALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!
! ! !

I totally agree with you.. except maybe they shoukd have the old sprites in some missions.. but in 3D. Actually, what I'm trying to say is...
the costume.

If you are talking about something like Contra SS, then that might be a good idea. However, I'd also like the characters to move in all directions and to go VERY far as well as all the other good stuff.
