In the "MKC is Home" thread, I didn't see her comment about "people from MKC".... She mentioned that people keep contesting the rules in this forum.

Which, frankly, is something that doesn't need to happen(I mean, c'mon). I'd just say: "Stop trying to buck the system, and there will be no problems".

I know what some people are thinking; "rules are meant to be broken..yadda, yadda...ect ect". But I disagree with that logic. Rules are only really ever "broken" when considering intervention, or a progression in the understanding of a thing(leaps in science, for instance). See so, right now, nothing progressive is happening, and there is no intervention occurring(unless you count this thread as a possibility, actually). It's really just people who don't like whatever rule, and other people that were "hired" to enforce those rules as we commonly understand them. Nothing "wrong" with that contrast. Some people just wont' like the rules...oh well.

So, as an epiphany to when people get an account here (anywhere really) you should consider that you clicked "okay" to complying with this sites' rules in the first place. Before your username was solidified even.

For instance, did you know that anything you post on this site is essentially Midways property? Well, you said "Yes" to it before your username was really confirmed. But that's just an example of a rule that people agree to, when they get an account here.

And as you may be able to note, none of the artist, programmers, or gaming students(like me) are complaining about that rule. And as a matter of fact, since I recognize that rule, I have no problem with putting alot of the animations that I make on this site. They can have them if they really want them.....But it's the rule regardless. Whatever I put on this site...is theirs. lol And you should be able to tell, that I want to be paid for my creations at some point...that's partially what I'm going to school for. I didn't get paid to make "Quick"s sig and avatar, or the other guys from his "clan", Versitile, V1LAIN, G_gamer07, KARATE, ect.... I didn't get paid for making some 75+ animated avatars that you can still catch around this site right now, if we looked for them....but that's besides my point. My point is, that the rule is the rule, and if I don't like it, I will not///have not posted the stuff that I would want to keep for my own projects. Because of the rule.

As far as "the way certain users are treated", you're gonna have to consider that we//I don't know you, Or care who you are, OR what you might be "known for" outside of this sites' rules. I've been here for something like 3-3 1/2 years and I almost never even come over here in this forum.

I've seen ChaosTheory around this site before, but I have no idea what his character//personality is like. So, depending on what his concern was, it would depend on how plausible a concern it was to address. Hell, all you online players know move-sets for characters waay better than me. If it was something concerning the rules, how hard is it to understand that changing, or adjusting some rule you don't like, may actually effect the infrastructure of the way the site works? Far as the Scans are concerned, it's a business relationship that needs to stay being honored. As an information site, those exclusive interviews, and some of the "breaking news" that we get are very valuable to the staff of this site.

SO? Quit being immature, and trying to foul up the business relationship...please. I for one, like getting the pre-release media. I like to get the interviews, and I like to see the MkTeam converse with MK Fans.

If their staff asked MKO's staff NOT to post scans, "simplify", and just don't do that. Cuz it's gonna screw up something you all are taking for granted just because you don't like the rule.

Far as MKFs' follow up thread. He knows the rules and the people here well enough to know what the fine line is. THAT's what it sounds like allowed that situation to transpire like it did, and look a little odd to you.

Lately, and since loopholes like that have been being exploited, not even that will fly any longer.

The quality of the community, depends on each and every single individual. If there were a greater presence of the types of personalities here that you favor.....who knows what would happen?

EX?: There are enough people here drawing, painting, writting, and the like...to warrant a whole "FAN ART" section. So, IF there were more online players here....that were, as you would have them be modeled(respectable personality, great online player..ect), we might see some stuff that you guys come up with -- Pop up on the site. (Actual online game, actual game-play, and coding sections of the site...I could think up a few things that would suffice, and I'm not even heavy like that online. Far as freedom of speech is concerned, there is absolutely NO lack of it here. The main thing you'd need to stay away from, is calling people out of their name....But that's a rule in the FAQ too. You can not demean or harass other people either.....But, you wouldn't want me calling you all kinds of crazy things "just cuz I'm a mod" right? Well, there ya go. Don't call me nothin' but my tag, and I'll do you the same courtesy.

However, it is never a wise idea to vividly "challenge" an authority figure. Especially over the internet where we can't see you face to face. It lessens the blow for anybody over the net to just say "fuck it", ban everybody, and let you all sulk. But that isn't the way to do business now, is it? Rather have fun.

Anyway, administration & moderators make the site a possibility for you to be a part of. And then, they may "hire" extra enforcers for the rules that they have experienced are reasonable rules that consider every type of person they have encountered.

To "buck that system" would be like telling your Parents that they didn't give you enough money to buy your car(lol)....Doesn't make sense to talk all crazy to them, when they'd be the ones shelling out the dough to allow you to have a car in the first place. On top of that, they could easily just....refuse to shell out for you, and make you walk until you worked your way up to it.

Anyway man, I hope you get the actual point in all that. Freedom of Speech is not lacking on this site. We just don't want people to feel like they can't come here if they can't throw some snazzy remarks back and forth in an argument or whatever...



Depends alot from time to time. Or better yet, game to game. Up until this game actually, MKO was getting almost everything before everybody else. Interviews, renders, bios, arena concepts, gameplay vids. Maybe not all of it all the time, but I remember TMK complaining about it on a number of occasions.

Now, he seems to be ahead of the curb on some of this games news. Doesn't matter really, we all get everything before the general populous so I don't really care about "who's absolutely" first so much. And besides DAB needs to get his health together. So fuck that prestige for now. Health is above all.

Why is so much importance placed on who plays who and then retaining the information to be replayed in threads. I'm not in the games of 'calling' out people to prove a point. I play anyone that's available whenever they are and I definitely don't take an offense if there's no one to play. Therefore, try and not think you hold a special place in my thought process hence why I haven't accepted your 'any' challenges. You 'MUST' accept the fact that playing MK holds no sense of achievement for me and the very last thing on my priority list. Back to your original message. This board, XBOX forum, has a great deal of history which you probably won't fully understand unless you were part of it all. Some good, some bad. I've lived through it all. There was a time it was shared between PAL and NTSC players in harmony. However, MKA never got released on PAL so they feel off the face of the planet.

Then, you have the NTSC community. We fight over petulant matters that always become very personal. And we are mostly incapable of understanding that while freedom of speech is a constitutional right, it doesn't extend to everything in life. MKO being one of them because it is a subject matter commercial website 'directly' affiliated with a known brand. NOT just a site where people can dabble into anything subject. It has to be controlled. The Mods react the way they do on this board because we, XBOXers, are very vocal and we all feel very special, we're needy and we feel the need to be pampered and given everything we want.

The rules are simple enough for anyone to understand and respect. But over the past 12months, there was an exodus that can be traced back to a singular moment. All that is history now and while it doesn't mean people are not allowed to post here it just means that they have to abide by the original set rules when they do.
