Yeah I'm new here but of course a long time MK fan ever since Day 1 on the Genesis. I own most of the games for TONS of platforms but that's beside the point. I really liked MKDA's speed and combo length for gameplay. The engine is awesome in my opinion. What I want to know is, why does it feel slugish and lathargic in MKA? I mean, MKA EASILY could have been the best Mortal Kombat EVER in my opinion if they just changed a few things. The most important to me the fighting seemed so slow. I mean, if you go from MKDA to MKA you can feel the change in combos as they are not nearly as lengthy or quick. Does anyone know WHY?

Oh and I've been reading a lot of threads lately about people either praising or bashing MKA. I'm not doing either, just trying to pose a simple question I haven't quite seen brought up yet. I know this game's gameplay is beaten to death and I don't mean to start up another complaint thread. ;)

Yeah but the combos are seemingly slower. It's as if the action isn't NEARLY as fast paced. Am I the only one who feels it?

Aw man which way are you looking at the screen? (I'm joking)

Anyway that fast paced action went with MkT. It sounds more like you're reffering to the dail-a-combo system we've been subjected to, and the third style//stance.

Other things between these games have been changed in the gameplay, by way of the fighting engine. 1They manipulated it for stuff like parrys' and the way that "works?", breakers, and a wake-up game(being able to fight from the ground up)

But there are more....deeper issues conserning gameplay that make the engine pretty much crap. Animation contributes, but moreso, key fundamentals of the system are just...broken.

But it's been disturbingly "slow" for me since MkDa. Mk4 was the idicator for what was to come.

I for one am thankful. MKA plays alot smoother. I wouldn't call it sluggish, I would call it more realistic.
