Here is PART 4, guys! It is a bit longer than the other three, because I did not want to leave yet another cliffhanger that needed a final part. It's not too overwhelming thought.

I GUARANTEE that once you start reading, you'll get into it and will definately make it to the end out of sheer curiosity as to how this unpredictable battle will turn out!

This is definately one of my favorites so far, and I'm talking particularly about Part 4 right here. It's really a very eventful part, full of battles, surprises, and intensity. You guys just have to read and see where it takes you...

~ PART 4: THE FINAL PART ~

The screen shifts to Onaga once more, who is now defending himself against the vicious attacks of Scorpion. We can see that the hellspawn ninja is being a tough challenge for the Dragon King to overcome, as the giant does not manage to land one hit, being forced to block the never-ending combination of punches and kicks being thrown at him. Realizing this, Onaga inhales deeply and prepares to send yet another wave of flames towards Scorpion, hoping to put a stop to his continuous attacks. The specter quickly catches on to this oncoming assault, and hops backwards in preparation for it. He then performs his Backflip Kick just as the fire is hurled at him from within Onaga’s mouth. The flames from Onaga collide with the flames from Scorpion’s move, altering its course and sending it sideways away from its original target. Onaga is surprised that his opponent found such a calculated way to disable his attack, giving Scorpion a fraction of a second to release his Spear. The spear sinks into Onaga’s chest before the dragon can evade it, causing considerable damage to the monster as he grunts in pain. Scorpion now tugs at the rope in an attempt to knock Onaga off balance, but is unsuccessful in doing so. Using nothing more than his own remaining brute strength, Onaga tugs at the opposite side of the rope and has Scorpion flying into the air towards him with one pull. Enraged that he almost fell before the ninja, Onaga shouts as he makes his right hand into a fist that meets with the side of Scorpion’s face, knocking the Netherrealm warrior off-scene. This also causes the Kunai stuck within Onaga’s chest to be released and follow its owner from out of our view.

The Dragon King does not have a moment to recover from Scorpion’s assault as Shao Khan now charges at him with the Uplifting Knee attack. Onaga sidesteps this sudden move and the two warriors instantly find themselves locked in kombat as each one tries to best the other, as powerful uppercuts and a few kicks are hurled at an amazing speed. Shao Khan now drives both of his fists at once towards Onaga’s midsection, but unfortunately, the Dragon King finds no difficulty in hopping backwards and doging this reckless move. In hopes of retaliating before Khan can regain his balance, Onaga now rises forward towards Khan’s face with a devastating kick. The emperor proves to still have his velocity intact, however, and leaps high into the air, both avoiding the Dragon King’s kick and giving himself the perfect chance to strike his adversary full in the face with a violent dropkick. Onaga staggers backwards, his face pounding with pain and looking thoroughly more bruised. We see him make both of his hands into tight fists as he regains his balance and bares his fangs, and for a moment it looks like he is about to attack the emperor mercilessly. But Khan is not about to miss the chance of gaining the upper hand in this battle: drawing incredible energy from an unseen source, he dashes at Onaga and lands a combination of countless variations of powerful punches. The Dragon King is unable to escape from any of these rageful attacks, and when Shao Khan finishes off his combo with another Uplifitng Knee move, he is actually knocked backwards into the air and falls hard on his back, his massive body sending a gust of wind towards Khan. The emperor smiles maniacally as he walks towards the fallen dragon.

Shao Khan: “Surprised, no doubt, that your defeat is becoming more and more of a certainty, Onaga. Perhaps now you realize which one of us is truly deserving of Outworld’s, as well as all of reality’s, throne.”

We now see Khan raise his right arm into the air, exposing the spikes on his right hand and proceeding to point them menacingly at Onaga’s heart. He prepares to deal the final blow, when suddenly, both he and Onaga are surrounded by a green aura and their bodies are lifted into the air (Onaga still lying down). Khan looks to his right and catches a brief glimpse of Ermac before he and the Dragon King are both smashed forcefully into the ground, the impact creating a large fissure on the earth where they hit. Ermac now releases two of his Hado-Energy projectiles, one towards each of his targets. The still-weakened Onaga is hit by the wave of energy when he begins to sit back up, but Khan jumps up and lands in front of Ermac just as the Hado-Energy meant to strike him hits the earth instead, increasing the size of the crevice created.

Shao Khan: “I will not let an ungrateful insect such as yourself stop me from attainting my just victory over Onaga!”

Ermac: “Both you and Onaga will fall to your deaths in this battlefield, Shao Khan!”
Shao Khan: “You are a fool to oppose me, Ermac! I created you, and I have the power to destroy your being without any effort on my part!”

Ermac: “Perhaps... but until that happens, we will battle you and the Dragon King with all of our combined might!”

Ermac runs towards Khan, who assumes his stance and prepares to dispose of this new opponent as fast as possible, before Onaga can regain his full strength. Just as Ermac nears his mark and Khan throws a straight punch at him, he is abruptly engulfed by a similar green aura and disappears within, rematerializing behind his former master and spinning around with a kick to his back. Khan staggers forward, but manages to defend himself from Ermac’s following attacks by spinning around with a block just as the ninja follows up on his surprise move. Shao Khan now puts all of his effort in protecting himself from Ermac’s assault, but feels the toll of his past battle and is eventually struck by a speedy spinning kick. As he sways backwards, Ermac once again engulfs the emperor in a green aura and, by use of his telekinetic abilities, hovers Khan above his head and finally brings him down onto the ground once again, near where he last fell. Ermac now attacks his fallen adversary once again with a descending kick, but Shao Khan reacts in time by conjuring the Emperor’s Shield. As soon as Ermac feels his body come into contact with the shield, he is knocked into the air instantaneously; Khan now rapidly gets back up and, with another use of his Uplifting Knee attack, strikes Ermac midair, knocking him further upwards and making his fall onto the earth even more damaging.

The screen focuses on Shao Khan, and we see him lost for breath, exhausted from constant battling (we also get a proper view of his face, clearly damaged from them). Nevertheless, he refuses to stop even if for a mere second, and turns to face Onaga once more, who has just sat back up and is rubbing his head, thin streaks of blood running down a gash on the side of his face (when he sees Khan, he immediately growls lowly). Khan cannot allow him to recover fully, and charges at the Dragon King, his right hand lifted into the air and the spikes gleaming threateningly. Onaga rolls backwards when Khan brings them down onto him, and sends a kick to the emperor’s face in hopes of fending him off. This kick is not enough to sever Shao Khan’s clear determination, however: he quickly gets back into the air and, before Onaga can stand up, drivers his right spikes towards his chest yet again. The Dragon King grabs a hold of Khan’s forearm and tries with all of his might to stop the spikes from sinking into his heart. The two struggle, and as the screen focuses on this scene, we see Khan’s spikes close in on Onaga’s flesh very slowly.

The scene now shifts focus and shows us Ermac, who has just gotten back and seems ready to attack Khan once more. Shujinko arrives at the scene, however, and grabs him by his right arm.

Shujinko: “Ermac, you mustn’t! The emperor is close to finally defeating Onaga!”

Ermac: “Shao Khan cannot be allowed to live!”

Shujinko (the camera closing into his face): “Then save your battle until after the Dragon King is dead!”

The screen returns to Shao Khan and Onaga. Khan seems to realize he will be unable to defeat Onaga if he continues to struggle against him with all of his strength. The emperor now raises his left hand and drives his left spikes towards Onaga’s right arm. When the Dragon King notices this sudden move by Khan, it is too late for him to react; the spikes sink into the greenish flesh of the upper part of his right arm, perforating it instantly. We hear Onaga’s thunderous roar as a reaction to this, but he refuses to allow his attacker the victory as he continues to push Khan’s right blades away from his chest. The screen once again focuses on this, and we see that even after this attack, Onaga is still managing to keep Khan from dealing this final blow. Still, the struggle comes to an unforeseen halt when Shao Khan is struck in the back with a potent energy orb.

The projectile hurls Khan forward and he falls face-first away from Onaga, who quickly stands up as to not give his rival another chance to best him. Along with both Shujinko and Ermac, The Dragon King then looks behind him to find out where the projectile that saved him came from, although he did have an idea. The screen shows us what the three warriors see: it focuses on the pyramid in the distance, and as it slowly closes into the eighth level, we see whom it was that attacked Shao Khan from a distance.

Shujinko (anger in his voice): “Li Mei!”

A vicious smile fills Onaga’s face as he shares this sight with Shujinko and Ermac.

Onaga: “I knew my future queen would not leave me unaided at the time of the final battle.” (He looks to Shujinko and Ermac). “Now that she has located me, all of your deaths will arrive sooner than anticipated, even by me.”

Shujinko (still glaring at the distant Li Mei): “The traitor! She will pay for deserting us at the time when we most needed her help!”

Shao Khan groans as he gets back to his feet and faces Onaga once more.

Shao Khan: “You are not going to escape me, Onaga!”

Khan charges at Onaga and attempts to land a combination of uppercuts and jabs, all of which the Dragon King successfully blocks. The emperor does not slow down his attacks, however, and Onaga’s difficulty in defending himself from all of them increases. When it seems that Shao Khan may get the upper hand once more, two more of Li Mei’s projectile shoot into the scene: one misses Khan and strikes the earth by his left foot, but the other crashes into his face and knocks him backwards, giving Onaga the chance to strike him with a mighty uppercut and knock him onto his back.

The screen shifts to Shujinko, his face still filled with anger. We see that Ermac is preparing to interrupt Khan and Onaga’s battle once more, as he assumes his fighting stance and looks onto the fight fretfully.

Shujinko: “If Li Mei continues to attack us from such a distance, none of us will have a chance of defeating Onaga! I will go after her immediately, and make her regret her betrayal!”

Shujinko runs off-scene in the direction of the pyramid, and we are left with the image of Ermac running towards Khan and Onaga. At this time, the screen instantly returns to its former position and we find ourselves once again looking on at the two warriors’ intense battle. Khan has gotten back to his feet, and it seems his willpower to see the Dragon King beaten has clouded his perception: showing no interest in investigating where the projectiles are coming from, he once again has attacked Onaga, frantically throwing his fists forward and making good use of every ounce of energy that is left within him. Onaga’s immense black wings flap twice, and he throws himself backwards to evade the incoming attacks from his enemy. Not more than a moment after landing, he then goes on to kick off the ground and perform a huge leap over Khan’s head, land on the other side of the emperor, and tackle him from the back with all of his might. Shao Khan lurches forward, and while feeling as though a wrecking ball had just slammed him in the back, this hit also benefits him: he instantly notices yet another incoming projectile shooting at him from the pyramid. We get a vague feeling that Khan has just grinned, right before the projectile nears him and he jumps into the air to avoid it. The fast-paced energy orb flies straight past him and strikes the unsuspecting Onaga in his midsection, knocking him off balance just long enough for Khan to land his Charging Spikes move onto the Dragon King and send him flipping back into the air. Unfortunately, the Outworld Emperor has little time to rejoice in his short victory: Ermac has just reached him, and with a mere thought, knocks Khan forward and watches as he falls just past Onaga.

The screen now leaves this scene and rapidly runs throughout the battlefield in the direction of the pyramid. As it does so, we catch a shot of Scorpion running off towards Onaga, a trail of fire propelling him forward. Soon enough, the scene is climbing with us along the large flight of stairs leading to the top levels of the pyramid (we see Shujinko running along a second before we surpass him), and before long, brings us to the eighth level. There we see Li Mei, motionless if not for both her arms extended forward and her gaze fixed upon her distant king. She watches with profound concentration, and when she deems it safe enough to do so, releases another trio of projectiles that we do not see reach its mark, but that we know will most likely come to aid Onaga in his final struggle. These prove to be the last projectiles she will shoot, however, as Shujinko finally arrives at the eighth level and walks up behind him.

Shujinko: “How could you deceive us, Li Mei, even at the time of the final battle...”

The screen slowly zooms into Li Mei’s face as she hears Shujinko’s words. We see a vile smirk darken her face before she leisurely turns around to face the newcomer. She puts her hands to her hips, and glares at Shujinko with more arrogance than resentment.

Li Mei: “How could I deceive you? A dull question unworthy of the obvious answer... I deceived you and your allies, Shujinko, because it became clear to me whom it was that would emerge victorious in the end. Rather than meet my death as all of you will in a few minutes, I was wise enough to side with the imminent victor.”

Shujinko: “You naïve girl! The amulet was taken from Onaga at the last minute, and his quest to join the Kamidogu has proved to be failure! He now stands below this pyramid, locked in a battle he will never get out from alive! There is no logic to your continued assistance to him!”

Li Mei (frowning and turning her back to Shujinko, looking down at Onaga once more): “His plans for the Kamidogu may have been thwarted... but Onaga is still the most powerful warrior in this entire battlefield.” (She extends her arms forward once more, and an energy orb begins to be conjured in her palms). “And with my help... he will litter this field with your bodies even faster!”

Shujinko charges at Li Mei just as she prepares to shoot the final projectile, and tackles her hard, knocking her off the edge of the pyramid. Li Mei screams as she plummets down to the level below, falling on her chest with an echoing thud. Shujinko falls behind her right after.

Shujinko: “You will not hinder our victory any longer!”

Li Mei: “You old fool!” (She gets back up and dusts off her thighs). “Not only are you one of the most feeble warriors I have encountered in my years, but you are clearly close to defeat. It will be a most pleasurable task to finish you off in the Dragon King’s name!”

Shujinko soars to Li Mei with his Flying Jinko move, which the girl evades with a skillful back-flip (leaving a trail of bluish fractions of energy) and retaliates instantly with her Flying Flurry attack. Shujinko moves his hands forward quickly as he blocks every one of her punches and, once her attack comes to an end, catches Li Mei with his Burning Fist. She rolls backwards on the floor, but swiftly stands back up and charges at Shujinko with a flying kick. He sidesteps this starting attack, and immediately after, his intention of continuing on the offense is dashed as Li Mei begins to assail him with a combination of dangerous high kicks. Shujinko successfully blocks these attacks as well, but is caught by surprise when Li Mei suddenly ducks and positions herself behind him in the blink of an eye, catching him in the back with the Flipping Heel Kick and topping it off with an energetic spinning kick to his neck. Shujinko grunts in pain and falls on his side, all of the injuries from his past battle suddenly throbbing all over again. He tries to get back up, but falls on his chest at the first try. Li Mei sadistically makes her way over to him.

Li Mei: “You should know, Shujinko... I barely learned anything from you when we met, and you deemed yourself powerful enough to tutor me in kombat.” (She kicks him on his side when he tries to stand once more, setting him flat on the floor yet again). “I would say I regret ever meeting you... but then again, if it was not for you, I would have never encountered Onaga and made the most judicious decision I have ever made.” (She turns around to check up on Onaga, and by the frown on her face, we can assume that the Dragon King still has not re-gained superiority in battle). “You imbecile! You have distracted me from my primary task of aiding Onaga!” (She hurls four more well-aimed projectiles off-scene and turns to Shujinko, still struggling to regain posture). “You will suffer for this intrusion!”

Li Mei charges at Shujinko angrily, unworried that he could be able to defend himself at the weakened state in which he is. As she approaches him, however, he suddenly takes out his Dan Tien Dao sword and extends it forward to stop her. Li Mei gasps and attempts to sidestep the blade at the last minute: she is partially successfully, as she prevents a fatal wound but does not manage to stop it from cutting past her right abdomen. She topples forward, holding her right side as a thick streak of blood runs down her hip. She slowly turns back around to see Shujinko back in his fighting stance, menacingly pointing his weapon at her. The pained expression on Li Mei’s face quickly turns into that of loathing. She grits her teeth and makes her right hand into a fist (she is still holding her side with her left hand). Showing great courage and a drive deriving from anger, she leaps into the air at Shujinko. As she descends, she dodges the incoming sword and lands a straight punch into Shujinko’s face, then proceeds to attack him with a knee from her left leg aimed at his midsection. To her surprise, Shujinko grabs a hold of her leg with his right arm, spins his sword around, and aims it at her torso to finish her off. Acting on impulse and sensing the looming danger, Li Mei then flips her body backwards and kicks Shujinko’s jaw with her right leg, drawing blood from the potent strike and causing him to release her left leg. As he stands dazed from the unseen attack, Li Mei now grabs Shujinko’s right arm (holding the weapon), flips him over her head, and smashes him onto the ground while still keeping a firm grip on his arm. Before he can react, she now brings her right foot down forcefully on Shujinko’s arm, breaking it with a sickening crunch. Shujinko shouts, lets go of his sword, and is sent sliding on his back across the floor with another throw by Li Mei, eventually landing right on the edge of the level. Li Mei picks up his sword, smudges of her blood still colored on its upper part. She looks at Shujinko one final time, and with a raging war cry, rushes to him, holding the sword high towards the sky. Li Mei reaches Shujinko and, wasting no time, brings the blade down on him for a final blow. To her and even our surprise, however, Shujinko is not yet defeated: summoning all of his force, he gets up with an uppercut to her jaw, and finally knocks her off-scene with a hovering punt-kick and a Telekinetic Slam. He is about to run after her and finish her off, but he now turns his attention to the Dragon King, whom he had not gave attention to since his pursuit of his ‘queen’. The screen shows us his sight, and we see Onaga has just knocked Scorpion down with a deadly blow, Shao Khan and Ermac lying on either side of him, struggling beyond all to stand up. Shujinko sees mid-sized holes on the ground next to Khan and Ermac, and realizes that it was Li Mei’s final four projectiles that caught them off guard at a critical point in the fight. Onaga walks to Scorpion and lifts both of his hands into the air, his claws shimmering in the sunlight and casting a shadow over Scorpion’s weakened body. For that one brief moment, all sorts of fears awakened within Shujinko: that all might be lost... that Onaga might actually destroy all of his allies and himself shortly after... that the Dragon King would actually have the power to defeat any one warrior who opposed him... that he would rule one gigantic realm with no one to stand in his way... and that he, Shujinko, would be the one responsible for this horrific future, having wasted year and year of his young life bringing this monster leaps closer to his bloodcurdling goal...

Shujinko shouts, his voice echoing throughout the bloodstained battlefield... he then releases his Freeze Projectile towards the distant dragon. The scene goes into relative slow motion as the screen follows the glacial orb and, after what seems like ages, reaches its target and encloses the Dragon King in ice as he prepares to mortally wound the fallen Scorpion. It is at that instant that both Khan, followed by Scorpion, stand to their feet. Shao Khan attacks the frozen Onaga from behind with his Charging Spikes move, while Scorpion nails the dragon’s head simultaneously with a flying kick filled with all of his remaining force. In a flash, we witness Onaga’s frozen body shatter into two halves, bits of ice flying in all directions. As soon as this happens, the earth beneath the remaining warriors’ feet begins to shake violently, and flames suddenly engulf the remains of the Dragon King’s body... a strange noise fills the scene as though the flames were powering up...

Cut to Shujinko, standing atop the seventh level of the pyramid near the edge. He watches this amazing scene from afar, an expression of intense relief overcoming his damaged face. It is then that Li Mei runs into our view once more and, with the scene still stuck at a crawling pace, drives the sword through Shujinko’s midsection. He fumbles backwards, holding the handle of his sword and feeling the last bits of energy within him slowly trickle away. One of the last things he feels is his feet nearing the edge of the pyramid, and that he sees is Li Mei charging at him with the intention of knocking him off. With one final action of redemption in the name of good, he allows himself to be knocked off the edge, but also grabs Li Mei’s left wrist with which she pushed him, and flings her backwards. The screen zooms out as we see Shujinko’s body falling the many levels of the pyramid in the direction of the rough soil below... and Li Mei’s body falling a distance from his as she screams, finally plummeting into a swirling blood-red portal on the ground.

Cut to Shao Khan, as he runs frantically from the spot where the Dragon King’s flaming remains lie. Within seconds, a roaring explosion goes off in the area. Khan hurls his body forward as it goes off, the background completely filled by an uncontrollable fire. Once the explosion dies off, we see a large number of green souls suddenly fly from the ground and into the sky, disappearing within the clouds. We have one last close-up shot of Shao Khan slowly getting up to his knees, his body bruised everywhere and gashes visible on his face and torso... the screen darkens...

... but before it does so, we see the faint image of a black glove picking up the two halves of Shao Khan’s helmet...

PICTURE: On the picture, we see a dark verdant field, fire consuming almost every inch of it as shadowy figures run in every direction, some of them four-armed. On the upper half of the picture we see Shao Khan, wearing a re-invented, more menacing variation of his original Skull Helmet, and his crimson eyes gaping ominously at us. On the bottom left side of the picture we see Daegon, a cold expression on his face. ON the bottom right side of the picture stands none other than Reiko, wearing his former master’s old Skull Helmet.

Following the final battles that occurred in the unpredictable, yet fateful field of battle, Outworld fell into a state of utter disorder and uproar. As a result of the realm having no real ruler for the first time, there were many warriors constantly hoping to be the one would claim power over it all. Among them stood Shao Khan, the infamous former emperor, seeking to regain his rightful throne as the sole monarch of Outworld. Opposing him was his most skilled and treacherous general, Reiko, who had taken into his possession the object which he sought after for years and, to him, represented his obvious aptitude to be the realm’s new emperor. But an unlikely, yet capable hopeful also lurked in the shadows of Outworld, building up an alliance with one of the realm’s most powerful races: Daegon, the resentful son of Argus who was denied power over Edenia in favor of his brother. As a result, he intended to gain control of Outworld for himself, and eventually branch out to conquer the realm that he knew should be rightfully his. As each of these three warriors secretly plotted and drew their own guidelines, only time would tell to what level Outworld’s chaotic state would grow... and who would emerge as the realm’s sole, unopposed emperor once and for all...

~ END ~

I'm specifically curious as to what you guys have to say about this ending and this final part in general! So, please comment!

I'll check back later and see how things went!

Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it! wink

Awesome!!

Just incredible. I'm glad you found the time to complete it. I know that was the last one, but I want to say you did an excellent job on every ending.

I would like to see you come back and try some new endings when Mortal Kombat goes next-gen.

Great Job. You have talent!

I was planning on doing Taven and Daegon's, but I don't know... things are going pretty slow because of the recent release of MK:A, so there's not that much of a "public".

There was also the vague idea of creating a sort of "self-made MK8 plot", but that would take a while to figure out, so it won't be recent.

However, I did say long ago that, at the end, I would put up a list of everyone who died, who lived, and who lived and is likely to return on MK8. I'll be doing that ASAP, hopefully more people will have teared themselves away from MK:A till then grin

Same here, although poor Shujinko had a worthy death.

From the ending:

"Khan hurls his body forward as it goes off, the background completely filled by an uncontrollable fire. Once the explosion dies off, we see a large number of green souls suddenly fly from the ground and into the sky, disappearing within the clouds."

Read closely and it'll clear up. Ermac has been divided into the many souls that compose him as a result of the explosion. Wether those souls ascended into the heavens as they should have before being manipulated by Khan or instead were reformed into their original carriers (along with Ermac's consciousness) is unknown for now...

Here is the final list, covering the characters in the final FMV and what their final fate was.

This should clear up any doubts readers may have of who died and who survived, as well as the likelihood of the surviving characters to make a return next-gen.

Enjoy!
________________________________
~ "DEAD" CHARACTERS ~

- Tanya
Tanya was killed by Jade's Bojutsu after an attempt to subdue her enemy and flee the scene of kombat.

- Kano
Kano was killed by Sonya Blade after an intense battle. He eventually fell victim to an acrobatic variation of her original Leg Grab move, his neck breaking in the process.

- Ashrah
Ashrah was killed by a mortal strike of Noob Saibot's Scythe. She put all of her efforts in slaying him, but unfortunately, was overwhelmed by what her target could do.

- Kintaro
Kintaro was slain by Rain after attacking him to protect Khan. He was actually very close to victory, but his brute strength, although punishing, did not overcome Rain's dexterity.

- Hsu Hao
Hsu Hao was killed by Jax after one of the more violent battles in the final FMV. Finished off by an overpowered Ground Pound that struck his face.

- Motaro
In what was probably the closest and more surprising fights of the final FMV, Motaro was killed by Sheeva, although leaving the Shokan at a near-death state.

- Liu Kang
The zombified Liu Kang was killed by his ally in life, Kung Lao, who realized the suffering his friend was going through. His spirit lives on in the heavens watching over Earthrealm.

- Shang Tsung
The sorcerer Shang Tsung was finished off by Kenshi, although worn down to defeat in a collective effort from the swordsman, Kung Lao, and the zombified Liu Kang.

- Noob Saibot
Although putting up an intense fight, Noob Saibot was eventually killed by Sub-Zero, although defeated in battle by the efforts of Sub and Smoke combined. He has left Smoke in critical condition.

- Bo' Rai Cho
Bo' Rai Cho was killed by Goro as a result of attempting to escape with the unconscious Kitana. He dealt a good amount of punishment to the Shokan, but once atop the pyramid, was struck down.

- Goro
Even after proving himself to be an almost-impossible challenge, Goro was eventually killed by Johnny Cage after indirectly threatening the life of Sonya.

- Shinnok
Shinnok can be deemed dead, as his being was sent to the Netherrealm once more, and his means of escape separated from him indefinately. Even working together, Raiden, Fujin, and Kai had an incredibly difficult time defeating the enpowered fallen elder god.

- Kai
Kai was slain by Shinnok, falling victim to his murderous magic, although not before vitally assisting Fujin in battle.

- Sektor
Sektor was killed after being defeated by the allegience that sprouted between Cyrax and Sareena, both who were trying to protect their allies whom Sektor was about to attack. He greatly damaged Cyrax in battle, possibly affecting his programming.

- Chameleon
Chameleon was killed in a battle against the Emperor of Nitara's realm. He assisted Reptile and his sister Khameleon in their goal before falling.

- Nitara
Although leaving the emperor with hopes of herself returning to life, Nitara is deemed dead after a vicious acid attack and impale by Reptile, whom she punished gravely in battle before her defeat.

- Alyria
Although a minor character with not too big of an impact, Nitara's ally was killed by Khameleon after an intense fight.

- Nightwolf
Nightwolf was slain by Onaga after a successful attempt to stop the Dragon King from finishing off Shujinko, putting a sudden stop to his ritual that would have taken Onaga's life instantly.

- Shujinko
After battling and gaining the upper hand against Li Mei, Shujinko was killed by her when his attention turned completely to Onaga. He allowed Scorpion and Khan the chance they needed to finish off the Dragon King.

- Li Mei
Li Mei fell into the open Netherrealm portal Shinnok had previously conjured and fallen victim to as well. She can be deemed dead.

- Sindel
Although many hints to her death were given in past endings, her shocking end came as a result of her unconscious body being at the sight of Onaga's explosion. She was one of the warriors to deal the most amount of damage to her opponent before falling, in a fight against Khan.

- Ermac (?)
As a result of Onaga's explosion, the souls that compose Ermac were separated and vanished into the sky. It is unknown wether these souls have returend to their original carriers (along with Ermac's consciousness) or have ascended into the Heavens as expected.

- Onaga
Onaga was finally killed by a final strike from Scorpion and Khan. He was close to victory when Shujinko encased his body in ice from a distance.

- Baraka
Although his ending was never written, Baraka was actually slain by Mileena. After battling Bo' Rai Cho, he escaped into the nearby forest. Unfortunately, it was where Mileena was hiding out. He became the first of many of her future meals.

- Kobra
Kobra was killed by Sonya after a battle with her in the name of the Black Dragon clan.

- Mavado
It is believed that Mavado was killed in battle either by the O.I.A. agents or Kabal.

- Jarek
Jarek was killed, possibly by Sonya, in a battle against the O.I.A.

~ SURVIVING CHARACTERS AND POSSIBILITY OF RETURN ~

- Kitana (Medium)
After her mother's death, Kitana became the queen of Edenia. She may very well return to battle if her realm is endangered.

- Mileena (High)
Although her goal no longer seems to be the death of her twin, Mileena has been hinted to return after an awakened interest in Outworld and in Khan's quest to regain power.

- Jade (Medium)
Jade was put in charge of the Edenian army once Kitana was made into the new queen. Like Kitana, she may return if any danger to her realm surfaces in the future.

- Sonya (High)
After apparantly wiping out all traces of the Black and Red Dragon with the rest of the O.I.A. agents' assistance, Sonya is very likely to return now that she has come to represent what could be the most powerful defense of the Earthrealm.

- Jax (High)
Jax continues to be a member of the O.I.A. and is likely to return in battle, especially after discovering the mysterious secret concerning Kira.

- Sheeva (Medium)
After nearing what appeared to be her imminent death, Sheeva was eventually found and rescued by Daegon once the Final Battle had ended. Wether this hints at a possible allegience between Shokans and Daegon in his quest for power over Outworld is currently unknown.

- Smoke (High)
Smoke has re-joined the Lin Kuei after the O.I.A. returned his human form. May return as an ally of Sub-Zero.

- Sub-Zero (High)
Still Lin Kuei's Grandmaster. Very likely to return and use his clan to protect Earthrealm from future threats.

- Johnny Cage (Medium)
Apparantly leaving showbusiness, Cage seems to be bent on proving his worth to the realms as a solid obstacle to all who man endanger his.

- Raiden and Fujin (High)
A rivalry seems to have spawned from these two gods. Fujin is decided on taking over Raiden's status as protector of Earth, deeming the "corruption" of Raiden too hazardous to the realm. He will do so even if by force.

- Scorpion (High)
Scorpion seems to continue as the champion of the elder gods, after successfully completing his task of defeating the Dragon King. His personal vendetta against Quan Chi seems unsatiated, even if left alone, for now.

- Quan Chi (Low)
He may not return for a good while if at all, having just escaped Scorpion's wrath and an eternity of damnation in the Netherrealm.

- Cyrax (Low)
Cyrax is likely to not return for some time (having been highly damaged by Sektor), and even when and if he does, his programming is in danger of being altered in some critical way.

- Sareena (Medium)
Although she continues to be a close ally to Sub-Zero, Sareena has shown some ominous interest in Frost's character. Wether she considers allying himself with her or is simply curious as to whom this mysterious cryomancer is, is unknown at this time.

- Frost (Low)
Another character who may not make a return for quite some time. As a result of battling Sonya Blade after being encased in ice for such a long time, Frost was incapacitated following her defeat, and is being housed in the Lin Kuei temple.

- Reptile and Khameleon (Low)
The two Saurians have arrived at a strange realm that seems to be deserted, although not yet proven to be. Now that they have accomplished their goal, it would take a critical reason to get either to return.

- Lothario (Medium)
Having been just introduced as a new character, The Emperor of the Vampire Realm seems to be a warrior with a solid chance of return.

- Kira and Kabal (Low-Medium)
It was hinted in Jax's ending that these two may have survived the final battle, although their possible future actions and motives are unknown for now.

- Shao Khan (High)
Shao Khan is back in the chaotic Outworld, apparantly seeking to regain his title as the realm's sole emperor.

- Reiko (Medium)
Reiko shares Shao Khan's thirst for domination over Outworld, and may prove to be a great challenge to the former emperor in the future.

- Taven (High)
Although his ending was never written, Taven has been confirmed to have defeated Blaze and become protector of Edenia in his father's place. After Daegon's malevolent new goals, he has shown determination in defending not only his, but all of the realms against threats like his brother.

- Daegon (High)
Having lost the title of Edenia's guardian to his brother Taven, Daegon's bitter nature has brought him to the violently uproar of Outworld, which he hopes to gain control over, increasing his power and giving him the chance to branch out onto other realms, eventually taking over Edenian, which he believes to be rightfully his.

Awesome job. I have been reading these, just not really posting. Found no point in repeating what other people have been saying, namely it was awesome.

Comments: Awesome job. I hope you are still here when MK8 is released (not that you will have much to work with after MKA)

Suggestions: None.

People left out: Dairou and Sheeva. You mentioned Sheeva in Motaro's comment, but you didn't mention her chances of coming back. Not a big deal, but I just noticed it.

Anyway, you did great with these. Loved all of them, though my fave part was when Sindel was fighting Kahn and when Sheeva killed Motaro. I have never been so interested in someone elses writing since Harry Potter... tongue

Thanks for pointing that out, matthewhaddad! I can't believe I forgot Sheeva in the survivor's list, especially considering her "interesting" hinted future. As for Dairou, since his ending was never written, I'll have to give some thought to it rather than just write anything. He should be up very soon, though.

grin!! I also personally liked the Sindel vs. Khan fight. Who knew she would have such a great drive within her for kombat, as well as such great power as to have had such dominace for a good part of her battle!

The Sheeva vs. Motaro battle was one of the closest battles in the final FMV. It was very surprising, because Sheeva jumped back into action when it seemed she was very well done for. It makes you think: would she have survived if Motaro had not shown such arrogance near the end of the battle? Also, I believe Sheeva's intelligence also assisted her victory. She was thinking of a way to escape death and finish off Motaro even when freefalling and locked in a midair struggle against the Centaur. Heavy stuff...

Love commeting in the endings! tongue

Will put Dairou up soon! If anyone notices any other missing or favortie characters, feel free to mention them.

Havik, Hotaru, and Dairou are characters who indeed did not get an ending. I should include them in the final list, however, at least giving them some closure. I'll definately take any suggestions as to a finality for these characters, for those who know their storyline well. (I've never been into their stories, except maybe Havik, whom I also really like).

Kung Lao was in Liu Kang's ending along with Kenshi and Shang Tsung, Metadream. smile

Stryke is another one. I was actually thinking about writing an ending for him in which he has become a Seidan Guard and assists Hotaru primarily, but could turn on him at any moment when he finds that he cannot comply with the harsh methods of his ally, during a final battle possibly involving Dairou and Havik. Something along those lines.

As for Shujinko, yes, I've never really liked him much either, but it was kinda sad seeing him die. I guess the fact that he played such a huge role on Onaga's death could make up for his death, giving him an image of a hero that he's always wanted to the point of being Onaga's b**ch his whole life.

And as always, huge thanks for the great comments!

Dairou, Darrius, Havik, Hotaru...?
I'v got my own Idea. Sure I might be taking from your idea,LeoBrZ81 , but I want to do this for the hell of it. I'll do Blaze's Ending (Vs. everyone else)

(Blaze roars as the Kombatants start coming.)
BLAZE: Come on! Show me what you got!

(Mileena, Mokap, Moloch and Fujin stand in front of Blaze. He steamrolls them into red smears.)

BLAZE: Wow! That sucked! Could you try and better?

(Motaro taps Blaze's Shoulder. He teleports twice, leaving Onaga to melt in the puddle.)

MOTARO: AAAH!! What the-
BLAZE: Saw that! Hmm...

(He sees a large group of Kombatants fighting each other. By using a quake slam, he sends them all flying all over the crater. One of them, Raiden, manages to ready himself for a hit. Blaze slams the thunder god's face into the pyramid, crushing it, and therefore killing him.)

BLAZE: Hmm.. This power... Could it be...

(Kahn, Kintaro, Kung Lao, Kai, and Darrius rush at him at all sides. Blaze teleports, making his attackers run into each other and sink in lava.)

KOMBATANTS: Oof! AAAH!
BLAZE: Sucks to be you guys!
ONAGA (OFF): BLAZE!!!

(Onaga storms in front of Blaze.)

ONAGA: I'm going to mother- (Gets strangled)
BLAZE: What the HELL did your holy men DO to ME?!
ONAGA: (Struggling) The...spell...shouldn't do...this... (Head explodes)
BLAZE: Yeah?! Well it did! (Throws corpse at a crowd.)

(Montage of Blaze beating up more people, until Scorpion steps up.)

SCORPION: Hellspawn! Time to die!
BLAZE: You wish. I've killed 59 suckers just like you, I'll up that to 60.

(Scorpion charges at Blaze, only to get decapitated by the fist of Blaze.)

BLAZE: Yo, Scorpy! Was it you that said SUCKER!!

(Taven steps through this mess. He sees this monstronsity.)

BLAZE: RAAAR- Ah, Taven. You finally came. Now to die.
TAVEN: Very well then. I shall take the power.
BLAZE: Not to break your hopes or anything, but your odds aren't so good for killing me. 60 other jerks tried and failed. RAAARGH!

(Blaze readies a lethal swipe at Taven, but instead, chops Daegon in two.)

TAVEN: Brother!
DAEGON: (Suffocating) Heh... I...ungh...wanted the... chance...(Dies)
TAVEN: You...Well, that further proves that I alone should win! (Charges)

(Fight scene a la MKA sans HUD. the fight ends as both are about to deal a death blow. The two charge)
BOTH: AAAARGH!
ARGUS (OFF): HALT!!
BLAZE: Who the (Trips) Ow! Argus! Good to see you!
TAVEN: (Stops) Father?

(The two stare as an aged figure steps down from the sky. The bloodied faces of the two are in awe.)

ARGUS: Both of you have succeeded in your missions. Taven, you proved your worth by staying alive the longest, as well as besting your own brother in Mortal Kombat (Looks at Daegon's halves), even if it was not the death of him. Blaze, you killed the Kombatants, therefore saving the stability of the realms. But all does not seem well for you...What is wrong?
BLAZE: I feel...odd...During my quest, I was subdued by Onaga's holy men, therefore accidentally awakening Daegon prematurely. When I was freed, I somehow felt...stronger. When I was fighting, I felt like I was enjoying this blood. Tell me, my friend, what is wrong with me?
ARGUS: (Scans Blaze.) Hm... It would seem to be a spell malfuction by the caster, Hornbuckle. Should not take long. (Casts a spell. Blaze reverts to his DA appearance.)
BLAZE: (Drops on his kness, as if bowing to Argus.) Thank you...
ARGUS: Glad to help. Now, to finish Taven's quest....
BLAZE: Oh, yes! (A stream of light flashes from Blaze's hands and into Taven's armor. Taven ascends to the sky to take his place as protector of Edenia. Argus rises moments later to join the Elder Gods.)

PIC: Blaze, now without power, stands amongst the corpses on the pyramid. He now waits for what will happen next to him.

CAPTION: Now, with his purpose fulfilled, he left the Edenian crater to seek out new adventures. Now that Taven has finished his job, he no longer required to worry about Kombat. Along with his friends Argus, Delia (Now a god of fire) and Taven, he assisted reforming the realms away from Kombat. Soon enough, The realms were united and all was peaceful.
THE END!

Note: I do believe in Hornbuckle. And, as I said, this is my take. I just did this for fun, not to steal the thunder.
