More specifically, that's an arena "re-creation" from MKSM.

Looks almost identical to "where" in that game, you fight Scorpion. ('member you gotta fight Scorpion?)

Yea, he was probably thinking about MK3-T, but, I remember that arena//realm vividly from MKSM. Almost the same everything.
