Yeah, I'd like to know where he got that, too. As far as I recall, GameSpot ranked the games like this (roughly)...

MK:DA - approximately 8.0

MK:D - approximately 8.5

MK:A - approximately 7.8


I'm not saying I agree with these. I'm not even saying that GameStop's word is law. I'm just throwing it out there cuz at least one organization finds MKD to be the highest rated game (for it's time) of all the 3-D MK games.

Ummm, it's not opinion it's FACT. UMK3 plays the best out of any and all MK fighting game factually...if you wish I can give you proof to the site that's dedicated and also detailed written explanations by the best players in the world in UMK3...

It's the best balanced, hardest glitches, infinites to do out of every MK game factually and is the most competitive and has the most competition. Take MKD and MKA's comp pig and multiply that times 10. That's your UMK3 comp.

And umm saying midway is "rock bottom" is far from true, you see rock bottom is "out of business" jobless, gameless...last time I checked Midway was still a running company with lots of good games yet to come out.

So, I know your personal hatred and bias for Midway has you tied up right now since their "stocks are bad" but whos fault is that dude? Midway didn't force you to invest in their company. Fact.

And no, MKD being the worst is not only voted by me. You guys should really visit other MK sites...not trash like MKAC either...I mean MKO, Midway.com, ultimatemk.com, Kamidogu, MKoutworld etc.

If you take a glitch point of view, MKA has more then MKD but only due to more characters, so obviously there will be more glitches with 62+ characters as oppose to 24, however MKD's glitches are easy as pathetic pie to win in.

The other day I played some MKA online and MKD, MKD is soo fucking easy to win in it's ridiculous when compared to MKA...easy plants, SS into FT's, 50/50 corner trap etc, etc.

Despite who enjoys which game more, MKA is a lot more of a challenge if you ask me.

But ultimately, UMK3 is a TRUE challenge. No FT's, no easy OTG's, no easy infinites, great balance overall and less lag then the 3D MK games in general..ohh yeah and a hell of a lot more competition.

Hell, MK:DA is also a lot better then MKD is easily...less infinites, easy glitches and throws are blockable like the oldschool MKs.

You guys can enjoy and like which ever MK you like the most, that's fine and I'm not trying to change that, I just want to point out a few facts as far as gameplay, playability etc compared to other MK games.

They all have their ups and downs but here's a few categories on which ones is superior to the other:



My order as far as just the 3D MK's are concerned are the following.

MK:DA>>MK:A>>>>>>>>>>>MK:D

actually mka is the best 3d mk game hands down. the problem is no one gets to play it to its full capacity.

you all think this cause you are playing mka to only 50% of its potential. if mka was an aracde based game, it would have been the best mk ever.

bdc destroyed both mkd and mkda, cannot be hit, period. can just chip away with block damage and never be hit = garbage.

jutsu is the only questionable decision on whether to have removed
it was broken because mkd just broke down to grabs ( so does mka actually but they arent safe anymore thanks to jutsu being gone )

grab, jutsu, then try to grab, it misses because they jutsu, so you jutsu back, then they to grab, it misses, back and forth and back and forth.
you try to grab in mka, you get countered not only by a grab, but a fast jab.

what both games suffer from: throws having too much priority. reason being, the bottom arm of the grab has OTG properties. they began to fix this issue with mokaps/sonyas/etc throw, only the top arm grapples to you. leading to

1) not getting grabbed after ducking it on reaction. ( duckblock for some reason has standing properties to a certain height = HUGE GLITCH, but somewhat fixed in mka, in mkd it was BAD,real bad, the blocking is completly screwed up in that game, slow and choppy and will get thrown while duckblocking CONSTANTLY, only solution is to duck with no block)

2) not getting throw out of a low too far to the ground for a grab to even reach ( bottom arm = otg properties )

mka > mkd> mkda because infinites arent legal, doesnt matter how easy they are. its all about the gameplay.

Yeah, I agree that MKA is the best game overall of the series. The game itself doesn't have the big problems. It's all internet. If everybody had T3 connections and the server at Midway was somehow improved; I bet all would agree that MKA is the best one.

Except of course all of the people who rely on their connections or who don't want to bother playing any defense. They'd hate it and quit.

I love MK:A. It's easily the best MK game I've played. I was into MK3 but MK:A makes me feel like a man..hahaha... But seriously, I wish more folks play online but lag, KAK and boss effect (online) have all overshadowed what MK:A is really about.

It's just a shame I don't have anyone to compete against offline. I wish one of you guys were my twin brother.

I've been visiting MKO and MKACentral and on neither of those there was such a vote. I haven't been to any of the other sites you mentioned but I seriously doubt there was such a "vote". Post an actual link to that "vote" you speak of so we can all see if for ourselves.

MK>MKII>MKD>MKDA>MK3>MKT>UMK3>MK4>MKA

You misunderstand dude....ones FAVORITE MK game or prefered is opinion, then breaking down the facts of each MK game gameplay wise is not opinion.

Forums and go into the MK:DA thread, guy on there named Tom Brady who knows a lot literally about MK:DA, I'd say as much as Check knows MKA and MKD honestly. You'll see others have a different point of view then yourself.

heres my question for mkf, so are infintes ok to use in umk3 since they are hard to do as u say.

I rather have back-dash canceling is than Air infinites, Free throws, God tiers and other crappy glitches in MKD and MKA

MKD is basically rock paper scissors... that games one big 50/50 peace of trash, thank goodness for MKA where the game does not revolve as much around 50/50's but still has some left in.
MKDA however, making throws blockable made the gameplay much better by having alot less glitches as MKA and MKD.

but MKD and MKA can still be fun at legit high level play, full high level play however, they are trash. Seriously, its sad that most 3D fighting games nowadays are so broken and need at least 2 versions to be balanced. And trust me, MKDA isn't as much of a turtlefest as some games (mostly MK2) and Back-Dash canceling does not make all the moves 100% safe, heck, the reason why Scorpion is #1 was because of his 100% Pi Gua 3 and hell fire. You may get some turtling in there but atleast you can get through the matches.

Its all based on opinion really, I can't argue with it.
But its a fact that UMK3 is the most balanced MK game to date.

That's all it is! Point of view. Nothing more. You guys can kill each other about it, send links, make reference to Red or Check or gamespy; it really doesn't change a thing. If the game is not a complete disaster as MK4, then opinions are bound to vary across the board, even on game sites like IGN or Gamespy.
